Rhapsody of Love (2021)
Hopeful Movie
The premise of the film was good. The choice of having an older leading lady/ girl next door, was a bold choice by the director, rather than having the traditional young ingenue alongside a hot leading man. Austin, the leading man was obvious eye candy and the funny waiter who looked like Liam Hemsworth and the dramatic toilet scene was performed well. Jessica Flowers added light on the screen but some of her dialogue was a bit girlish and appeared off script at times. Her hair needed attention, who wears hair like that these days? Sack the hair stylist please! The sisters scenes were good and would have liked to see that developed more.
All in all, it was a decent independent film. I noticed other films by the same writer / director and have then watched Get a Life & The Script of Life which were heaps better, in terms of performance, script and direction. Everyone has to start somewhere I guess. I looked up the lead actor and I see he'll be starring in Echo 8 - We can't wait to see him fall in love again.

The story and acting needs help
The idea of this film is ambitious but then reality hits when you see the film progress, you wonder why there wasn't assistance with the script and the performances, especially the minor actors. You are as only as good as the actor you play opposite, hence some of the minor actors really needed direction and playing to truth. The shooting scene was not believable at all. You wonder why? Why did the director choose that way to portray certain scenes. The film had so much potential and you wonder why it wasn't executed well. It is a low budget film with so much potential. The lighting and colours of the film were good though.

Acting on the nose
The movie's premise is good; a good idea.
The opening is good, the mother's performance is note worthy and believable.
The rest can be better, very caricature-ish acting, in particular the scene at the beginning of the karaoke place, the winy older man with the suitcase on the floor, the commander in the office etc.
A low budget film is evident in the shots and no named actors. With more money and a good cast and story, Echo8 would do better on the world stage. The fighting at the end is good. Again the mother's performance is striking and real. The fighting is good and worth to watch. Cheers mate.
