A Serbian Film (2010)

Don't understand the hype

Decided to watch (actually read) this flick cause it was rated the #1 most disturbing movie. Well, it wasn't by far. Yea there's some paedophilia and necrophilia (sick but not new) and the usual sexploitation with beatings, torture and some gore. But far from most disturbing, the Aussies and Brit's have some excellent.morally corrupt content.

My rating is not based on the content. Though the cinematography was descent, the movie was rather slow and drawn out in many places, many scenes were broken and irrelevant, the story line and plot were thin and, in general's, continuity problems, poor dialogue, and found the movie boring.

Kill or Be Killed (2015)

Worth a watch. Fun spin on a familiar story line.

Not sure I watched the same movie as it is labeled. It was a western with decent action and thrills. It was far more comedic than a mystery or horror flick.

Characters are well thought out and developed, the dialogue is fun and entertaining, cineramics are descent, no real romance which is okay, your typical gang of fumbling outlaws with good hearts seeking a humble life but cursed by their past and stupidity. Yet, the plot line is a bit broken, has some continuity problems, B movie filming and production, some failed execution, sloppy direction at times, A dialogue coach would help a lot.

But it was a good watch. Fun spin on a familiar story line.

McGraw Ave (2020– )

Good concept, horrible execution.

Depicting the raw and hard reality of life in Detroit is a compelling story line. With a lot of potential. Sadly, it falls flat and feels like every other life in the hood series and movie.

Yea, screwing around, drugs, neck chains, money, guns,...ya know dog, I got your ass, we good. Blah

Aside from the low budget production quality, poor acting, and terrible directing, the script is nothing new or engaging.

Why so many rate this so high explains a lot about the targeted audience.

The Last Resort (I) (2009)

Yawn.

Another solid premise turned to crap. Someone had a valid concept that the screenwriters couldn't cash in on.

Robbed and abandoned in the middle of nowhere. Finding sanctuary (pun) in an isolated place. Good premise, many paths for interesting stories and plots. Especially with the religious aspects.

But nope, more lazy writing. Gain freedom and eat everyone.

The Victim (2011)

Nothing new here.

This could of been so much better if the screenwriters worked the basic story and plot lines more. Sad actually. The premise was there. But got lost, a very lazy effort.

Once Michael got some screen tit time with his squeeze Jennifer, the story kinda of goes flat. Yea, there's some action, corruption, not so surprising surprises.

Worthy for background noise, but not that engrossing.

Even Lambs Have Teeth (2015)

Told you to let me go...

Whelp, of tonight's selection of B movies (The Last Resort, Victim and Even Lamb Have Teeth). Lambs won. While they are all low budget, have poor production quality, need script work, better continuity, blah.

Lambs have Teeth held my attention and was somewhat entertaining. Granted I have a soft spot when would be victims turn the tables even in the extreme. It had enough weirdness to make it fun.

Grimy (2021 TV Movie)

Horrible! This was actually released?

Well that sucked. Can't believe I let it play till the end.

Premise is standard, cop goes uncover and is tormented between duty and past loyalty. Not a knew concept, but can absorb attention.

But the horrible script, terrible acting, bouncing story line still doesn't overcome the 3rd grade production quality.

Nick of Time (1995)

Descent thriller, watchable

A twist the usual extortion by threat. Scripting, dialogue and characterizations are acceptable. The suspense is gripping enough with a few twists.

But did have to put on my disbelief hat at the beginning, the whole plausibility thing.

What, some maybe law enforcement jacks you and family in a public place. You just go along. Then they give a gun and your just supposed go kill someone. What, you don't check the gun for ammo? Got ammo, well shoot the idiots that jacked you.

Amityville Cult (2021)

Poe execution what could be a good thriller

Ok, so you you inherit a house in nowhere. That is actually is good shape. Then you start poking around and are noticed by the locals. All civil and like. Nice people, right?

Uh huh. Then, well, all hell breaks loose.

If you can put on your imagination caps and filter out the bad scripting, acting, directing, cinematography, etc. You can still get a descent nightmare out of it.

The Animals (1970)

Spend your western dollars elsewhere

I love westerns, in general. And can deal with poor scripting, dialogue and casting.

This attempt is horrible. The rape scene is horribly scripted\directed, the gang is tired and boring with stale dialogue, continuity director doesn't exist, even the attempt at Native American perspective is lost.

A supposed attempt at introducing vilgilancy to the world, terrible. Watch born losers.

Hart of Dixie (2011–2015)

Everyone is neurotic.

This was one of my morning binge list series while drinking coffee and screw with phone activities.

Started okay. Fish out of water story, with Zoey trying to adapt and running into interference.

But, it turned into a soap opera of social ambiguity, bouncing scripting, broken continuity, and self absorption.

Got old quick.

The Bygone (2019)

So John Boy turns badass.

Human trafficking is a horrible, yet profitable business. Better watch your ass if you wanna play in that game.

It's a rather slow watch. You got a meek cowboy trying to rescue some chick he accidentally encountered. And blah de blah, wants to be a knight in shining armor at whatever cost.

Predators (2010)

Not a bad Predator tie in

While the original Predator premise has been over exploited. This flick brought a new somewhat creative angle. That is relatively entertaining. Scripting, characterizations, and cinematography aren't bad. But, it lacks depth in many areas. Which probably explains why the open end didn't result in a sequel.

Hollow Point (2019)

Nice little twist on vigilantism.

While it's your basic something happened and your pissed so you go looking for justice premise. It adds a little flavor that is somewhat entertaining on a few levels. Scripting could use help. Yet, worthy of time if your into crime dramas that sometimes feel good.

Hunter Killer (2018)

Watchable military action flick

Had descent intrigue, characterizations, acceptable scripting and dialogue. Did think some of the character portrayals (like upper leadership) were face slaps. Some of the technical beliefs needed more research and depth.

But, a worthy watch. Don't expect new concepts. Just jump in the tub and burn some time.

A Clear Shot (2019)

Horrible on what could of been good.

Can't believe I watched the whole thing. Dumbass criminals meet amateur police with horrible scripting. The attempted subplots weren't well thought out, the original narrative made little sense scrambling across motives.
