The Sitter (2011)
2/10

Don't waste your time watching this movie. It is not what any of the previews make it out to be. It's not funny AT ALL! I think I might have giggled once during the entire film. Not worth it. It is just a bad remake of Adventures in Babysitting. If you want to see a film that's worth while watch that instead. The Sitter is full of crude humor with a basically non-existent plot. The whole thing seems sloppy and thrown together. Half of the time it was not apparent as to why some things were even included in the movie. The feel of the movie was kind of amateur, like they were trying really hard to make things funny but it didn't work. Please don't make the same mistake I made by watching this film.

Funny yet Sentimental
21 July 2010
This movie was definitely not what I expected. I had expected all crude humor and nothing more. Of course there was plenty of it, but weaved in between was a bit of a sad meaningful story, not much but it's there.

I found the movie hilarious and I was happy that the same jokes weren't used over and over again. The humor was spread out just enough that it wasn't overwhelming.

The thing about the movie I enjoyed most of all was the music. Some of the songs were just plain hilarious and others were more meaningful such as A Life Without You, which is my favorite song from the movie. John C. Riley has a lovely voice and it was an unexpected treat for me. I was very surprised to hear how well he sings.

Overall I enjoyed the movie a lot and give it a 9/10!

One Of the Best Movies I've Seen
18 July 2010
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas has got to be one of the most amazing movies i've ever seen.

Before seeing the movie I read the book, which I really enjoyed and found very touching and eye opening. I was a little nervous to see the movie as I was afraid that it might not live up to the standards I had after reading the book. But I was not disappointed at all. The movie stayed with the book very well. Of course it wasn't exactly the same but it was very close.

I was very impressed with the cast selection. I enjoyed the fact that non of the actors were well known, it somehow made the acting more believable. I also noticed that the actors looked as I imagined them while I was reading the book.

The thing I was most impressed with was the acting itself. It was so convincing and realistic it was as if these things were really happening to these actors.

The only critique I have for the movie was the accents the characters used, It was much more of an English accent than a German one. I am German and speak some and have many friends with German accents and I'm afraid that the accents in this movie are not anywhere near what I recognize to be a German accent.

Overall I was VERY happy with the movie and can't wait to watch it again. 9/10 !

Grown Ups (I) (2010)

A disappointment
6 July 2010
I have to say it was quite disappointing. When seeing the previews I thought with a cast like this you can't go wrong, it must be a goldmine of laughs! But after watching the movie my feelings changed a lot. Sure there were a few moments that made me laugh but to tell you the truth a lot of the jokes were over used and got tiring. I felt as if they were trying too hard to make the audience laugh and that they were trying to fit in as many jokes as they could into each scene. Of course it's not the most horrible movie i've seen. I just don't think the plot was strong enough and I don't get the same charming and funny vibe I usually get when watching a movie with any of these actors in it. I feel that a lot of the movie was also was very cliché and predictable. I do think that this movie could have been a lot better. It was entertaining enough, but I can truthfully say I won't be buying this one on DVD.

A moving tear jerker.

This is a beautiful movie. it's about a girl named Vada who is going through tough times. her mother died two days after her birth. And has a father who doesn't pay much attention to her and has hired a new assistant to his job. Now Vada feels threatened that she is taking the place of her old mother. So she lets out all her feelings to her pal Thomas J. now that she is growing into a twelve year old she is going through changes to growing into a young woman. Now this gets sad towards the end so have a Kleenex box with you. I am not going to spoil it for you so get the movie you'll love it. There is a sequel I don't recommend it. But if you want take a shot at it. I'm not kidding about he crying thing don't forget the tissue.

Warning: Spoilers
Personally this is the funniest thing i've ever set my eyes on. When ever I watch an episode I just think oh my gosh what if you were watching the movie without Mike/or/Joel and Crow and Tomservo it would be awful. There would be nothing to watch just a bunch of junk. My favorite episode would have to be 'Girl in The Golden Boots.'I just Can't get over how stupid the movie is there is no point to it. Just a dumb broad who wants to be a dancer. Who really stinks at it. and then there are all these ditsy dancers and anyway there is no point to it. But Mike, Crow and Tomservo make it all worth while. The theme song gives a great summery of what the show is about. I'm not so good at making comments so hopefully some other peoples comments make you want to watch the show. Everyone who loves comedy should take the time to watch an episode or two.
