Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation (2004)
Not too shabby
Obviously this movie (produced directly for TV) wouldn't be as good as the previous one (Starship Troopers). Other reviewers of this film must have had their expectations set a little bit too high...
Anyways, Richard Burgi does a nice job playing Captain Dax and Mr. Ed Lauter is always good to watch. The story is good but doesn't have the budget to back it up (A recommendation for those who like this film is Screamers). The CGI effects are not as bad as stated in previous reviews. They're not top notch but they're not too shabby either.
All an all, a pretty good b-rated action movie. And a must for any sci-fi lover.
Rånarna (2003)
Poor, predictable and bad acting
Quite typical for swedish movies of this type. Strange that the acting was soooo bad, these actors usually give a good show. The casting was poorly done, it made you expect something (I won't tell you what). The lead character was awful... I don't know where they find her. Anyway, stay away from this and go see "Den Tredje Vågen" instead, this is swedish action in is prime.
Blood Work (2002)
Felt like Eastwood would suffer a real heart attack!
(spoilers) Good movie, but expected twist with his partner. Kind of hard to watch someone doubling for Mr.Eastwood every time he would have to jump or something. Otherwise ok. If one were to watch some of the old 'spaghetti' classic and then this, hmmm.... I guess Mr.Eastwood is getting old...
Project Viper (2002)
OMG...what happened?
This was the worst ever! I loved the way they stoled the Air America Scene (When the plane goes down - This is the exact same scene used in Air America from one of the final scenes). How pathetic... I would recommend you sit off your time watching re-runs of old star trek episodes instead of this horrible crap!
Ghosts of Mars (2001)
A kick-ass rollercoaster from the master himself
Carpenter strikes it again, mixing suspense and action like these genres are the same. With a fast-paced soundtrack whenever there's action, and an edge-of-the-seat pumping fear whenever there's suspense. As beutiful Henstridge takes on the martian zombies on an god forsaken mars outpost, carpenter mixes an old style directing with somewhat of a fresh grip in outlining the plot and the mystery of the film. A must see for any dedicated Sci-fi lover.
