Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999)
Horrible.
This movie is a waste of your money and your time! You would rather spend your money on Kabhie Kushie Kabhie Gham. HSSH is a family drama of 3 brothers who find marriage, struggle and love. They movie's pace is really slow which bores you to death! The movie has no real plot...The music was great, though. The movie is so slow and boring that when you reach the middle (intermission) you don't even want to go on and watch the rest of the movie! It's that bad! HSSH has a great family values though and that was the only reason why I enjoyed it. HSSH trys to create original ideas and events but it only makes the movie look like a big pile of dirty laundry. The family gets torn apart through a series of obstacles and they all get separated but in the end, the 3 unite and all lives happily ever after.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)
You'll remember this movie...
The theme song "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" was one of the best songs Bollywood has produce... Besides the amazing music, there was an amazing cast, Shah Ruhk, Rani and Kajol. The plot was original and campassionate. This film about is love, family and friendship. "Friendship is love" Raj quotes. KKHH will leave you breathless, in tears, in laughter and dissapiontment. The story starts off with the funeral of Tina (Rani) the wife of Rahul (Shah) and the birth of their daughter Anjali who was named after Rahul's best friend Anjali(Kajol). Tina leaves 8 letters for Anjali. Each one for each of her birthdays. So finally on her 8th birthday she reads the final letter her mom had left. Tina requests Anjali to seek Anjali Sharma and bring her back to Rahul. The plot was original which left you breathless. The music made you dance. But the movie was just too slow! It took forever for something to happen. The first half of the movie was a nice pace with interesting scenes but the second half took forever to end. Kuch Kuch Hota has received 9 stars out of 10 stars due it's original plot, great music and great cast.
Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006)
Great Cast. Great Music. Great Plot... Not so great script
The fact that KANK was filmed in America didn't change the movie's atmosphere. KANK had a great cast...Shah Rukh, Rani and Abhisheik Bachchan and a wonderful plot. This movie is out of the ordinary. You can't predict the ending at all (which makes it great movie) every event that happens leaves you breathless. You know most love stories are similar and you can predict what is going to happen... The plot of this story was something new...It was not a typical story which makes the movie worth watching. Well, KANK had unexpected events that makes you angry, sad and quite happy. The movie takes place in America where Dev(Shah)and Maya(Rani)fall in love but they are married to someone else already. The movie is about two people who find romance outside of their own marriages. This movie receives 7 stars for it's great plot and great cast but loses 3 stars because of script and the length. The first half of the movie was real slow...But the second half seemed to pick up the pace more often. The title "Never say goodbye" gives the movie a sugarcoating. Dev states to Maya "Never say goodbye because goodbye kills the chance of ever meeting again"...
