Dhoom:2 (2006)
It is a potboiler, it is an entertainer!
If you are looking for validation of life and nature's laws, this movie ain't for you. You have to suspend belief in everything you know and go with the flow. As others have noted, this movie is a hash of a lot of things you have seen or read (from the pages of Sidney Sheldon to Sherlock Holmes Last Bow and MI 1, 2, 3, Baywatch and others which quite slip my mind now).
You have to watch the movie for Hrithik - eye candy extraordinaire! Abhishek is good, but his role does not have too much scope. As for Bips, she is wasted and Ash take some acting lessons! Uday I guess if your brother is a producer, he can do with all the props he can get his hands on.
Bottom line, I give the movie 9/10 for not making me think (which I do a lot during the day)!
Yaadein... (2001)
Total Bilge!
Yaadein - Something you would remember for all the wrong reasons. The actors behave like mannequins than people with flesh and blood, the delivery is staccato, and the plot is stilted. Of course H. Roshan's acting and dancing is good as always, but unfortunately it is not enough of a saving grace to sit down and be tortured for 3+ hours.
The movie can be described as one big advertising arena - for products ranging from Coke to Hero bicycles. If you are part of the unlucky lot that have bought a ticket to be entertained, make a game of counting the number of products that are being plugged in the various scenes. You are likely to derive more satisfaction than from the storyline.
