This Is Us: The Hill (2022)
Tug at your strings
Our Katy girl just can't catch a breath, all her life . Chrissy Metz and Chris Sullivan play so well that all I wanna do is give Katy a lot of hugs and tell Toby to get the f-- out, before each episode I'm always like' nope, not gonna get emotional this time' but fail every time. Can't believe TIU and Better Call Saul are both coming to an end. And oh Katy , I've felt like my future is blank too, but I'm sure I'll be alone real soon.
Euphoria: The Theater and Its Double (2022)
I don't like Lexi anymore
Look who became the mean girl all of a sudden, exposing people and offending people! You're seriously telling me a teenager is capable of pulling off a school play like in this episode with all the sets and lighting and so much stuff shown in this play? She's an observer yes,but this is just intruding and creepy and disturbing. And not to mention the school play budget , unrealistic much? This show is so many things, realistic and unrealistic, I don't know how to feel about this, but one thing is certain, Lexi is a talented playwright and director from Broadway in a body switch with a high schooler. Other than that I don't believe a single explanation.
This Is Us: Don't Let Me Keep You (2022)
A beautiful detour
Just when you thought they couldn't make you feel vulnerable, they just did. I almost forgot how Jack's mom was also the one most directly hit by J's dad, if anyone deserves a retrospective episode it's her, she is great, too bad the backstory had to be that sad, that she and Jack didn't get to have many face to face get togethers. That line' I don't have a mom anymore' was when it hit me, for someone that has a hard to describe but by no means good relationship with their family, this leaves me feeling I can't just leave things icey with my family, but how to not? I don't know, but things I don't get from my surroundings I get from This Is Us.
IMDb Originals: In Memoriam 2021 (2021)
Missing some
Jean-Marc Vallée is missing, he isn't a actor sure but he's a great director which also counts as public figure. And Betty White like other reviewers pointed out.
Dexter: New Blood: Smoke Signals (2021)
This weekly wait is pure torture
I don't care how this story goes, I just love that it's in my life, I didn't even watch the original 8 seasons(only 2 episodes of Season 1,and I know the series finale was notoriously abysmal-on lar with that of game of thrones), but based on what I heard and the 2 original ones I watched I love this, I love Dexter as a person, as a vigilante that kills bad people for good, I wish I could do that, sadly in real life it's hard to tell who is truly evil enough to be done like this, people are too complex and what they do they don't do in front of people, that's why Dexter is an escape, and many others in TV and movies we root for them. I love Michael C. Hall ever since from SFU, and he is just perfect in Dexter. Anyway, can't wait to see more.
Normal People (2020)
Different enough
I knew about this show long before I finally watched it last night, seeing how it was one of the top rated shows here I wanted to watch it,and I wasn't disappointed. The acting of the 2 leads is great , especially Paul, I really love Connell's mom's character, who doesn't want a mom like her! Each episode is sort of stand-alone, with some issues that don't get answered, what annoys me is how many sex scenes there are, I'm no prude, but really this is excessive, I'm almost watching a mix of Nymphomaniac and Fifty shades of grey sometimes, I also agree with someone mentioning how Marianne's family situation is not explained, many people treat the bugs they find in their bathroom better than how M is treated. Also the ending, really? After all they've been thru. And why? Why did M not wanna go to NY with him? She said she just got used to the life back home, but what is she gonna do? That's the reason she's willing to give up their once in a lifetime love for? Guess I'm not the only one making stupid decisions. She did say they were gonna be ok, but how?
American Horror Story: Blue Moon (2021)
Um
So apparently the pain stops after your belly is cut open and the baby is taken out,as if the baby is the source of the pain and an open belly isn't , I'm affected by the reviews cuz now I see this second part as more of a parody than something serious , oh boy, that's not good.
What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Perfect for a good laugh
How come I just started to watch this is beyond wrong, but it made you fall in love, hard, super fast, within minutes into the first episode I couldn't put it down, for a person prone to feeling down most of the time, this is haven, escape haven. Love love love!
Ted Lasso: Man City (2021)
Hold it
It's beautiful what Roy did supporting Jamie, Ted in tears telling his story is painful, especially if you have similar stories or experienced them. I'm only gonna mention these 2 beautiful moments because they are needed in my life. Now, I read every review of this episode, most are awesome and supporting, a few are saying this has become a classic Hollywood mushy soap opera, I don't know if we live on the same planet, but life is not all happy and laughter and hugs, life is also pain, loss and regrets and so much more , Ted Lasso CAN have a painful past that shaped who he is now, can't he? I'm genuinely asking some folks : is your life perfectly in order so much so that you can't relate/empathise and let the characters on this show reveal their backstories a bit more even tho some of them are not happy ones? I don't think a feel good show has to be all feel-good, cuz that's too easy , that's too temporary, that makes some of us unable to relate, it's okay if some of ya wants that, maybe find somewhere else, but don't totally dismiss it, it doesn't deserve your 1 star, it's not ,it doesn't, there's bad ones , there's far worse ones than this (if one thinks this isn't good).
American Horror Story: Blood Buffet (2021)
FRANCES CONROY!!!!!
What more do we need to say about her? She's the star of this episode. Angelica Ross' hair is simply perfect and she's gorgeous in her dress style, Culkin is too cute wearing that hairstyle, Evan is , also a feast. Love this episode. Love Denis O'Hare and Billie Lourd, tho I do agree that their roles are a bit underused, and the mean people in this episode are too stereotypical and predictable. Still, the great outweighs the weak points. Next 2 episodes are very promising , so pumped for em! AHS always has the magic of making me want more, despite it's inconsistencies, but few are flawless, let's simply enjoy!
The Young Offenders: Episode #1.3 (2018)
The end is just so unexpected,-ly beautiful
Laughed so much , love the detail where the two girls limping cuz of high heels, funny and warm, especially the scene towards the end ,wasn't expecting the tattoo, also the whales are beautiful, and tragic, they felt so bad, I felt so bad, what can I say , it's just a beautiful episode.
Cannibal Holocaust (1980)
One thing is to be condemned
The fact that they actually killed those animals on camera is beyond despicable no matter what the intentions of the film were, couldn't they have done what it's being done now? Also the way women are tortured in this, do they actually do that in those tribes?
The Last House on the Left (2009)
This works too
Kinda hoping for a I spit on your grave revenge , but this is good too, the parents doing the revenge , it's heartbreaking when Mari was brutalized, it's heartbreaking her parents found out about what happened.
Gossip Girl: Lies Wide Shut (2021)
Raising an important issue
This episode deserves a praise of not solely because Max's gay dads' issues affecting their lives, I can relate to his dad because when I'm more feminine and wear makeup, my family don't like it and some of my friends don't like it either. It's also rampant in the gay community here, being feminine is somehow shameful, being fat,not as normatively attractive, is so trashed within the very community that is still not seeing the light of day, maybe it's human, but it has negative effects. I feel so bad for Gideon, I can watch that scene when he confronts the other dad all day. Maybe it's okay to not be fully accepted, since personally I can't escape this yet,but for whoever out there, find some people who fully accept you,you deserve it!
Submarino (2010)
Haunting , beautiful, tragic
Totally went in not expecting anything , but went out sad and moved, what else can one say? You don't get moved and feel for the characters often, not because one doesn't, but because when there's a sea of beautiful content on screen, some like this stands out. It pulls you in the minute you see the characters, unannounced, outta the blue, leaving you devastated in a way you want. It's a shame I didn't watch this sooner , but ultimately I'm better for it.
Why Women Kill: Murder, My Sweet (2021)
Gets better and better
Gosh this episode is intense. Everyone's story is coming to a head, some's come to the end. Especially love the scene when Bertram felt betrayed, who is the real devil here, Alma did all that for what? Just popularity in the garden club or is it much more? This season may have only one story but it turns out to be a really complex and intricate one and I love it! I love season 1 too but this is a while nother different. I understand some reviewers saying how this season especially resembles some elements of desperate housewives, well, in Marc's Defense, it's his style, every director/writer has a style, some changes their styles but some bring it into their products, maybe the resemblance is there for this reason or some other, but it doesn't bother me. Hope they bring this to a satisfying ending, cuz this is really shaping up to be amazing!
Lucifer: A Chance at a Happy Ending (2021)
Curb your disappointment
For those who feel this show is going downhill after season 4, I get where you're coming from, but let's not forget this is a fantasy show in which literally the Devil himself has self esteem issues and doesn't love himself, and he has been demonised his entire life which is a long long time, and then he meets god and finally god tells him he loves him, you expect this to be real even if you suspend you disbelief and assume there are god and devil and angels and stuff? Also, nobody knows how god works, since clearly he doesn't tell , so all of this came from interpretations, things would be so easy if we know everything . I'm willing to go along for the ride because of the sole reason that Devil himself isn't all that evil of which the bad name he's been carrying and with which all the evilness in the world has been associated. Nothing is perfect, no tv or movies are perfect, even the best ones have haters, and none of them claim to be the perfect ones. Maybe just don't expect perfection, not everything needs to be.
Lucifer: Is This Really How It's Going To End?! (2021)
Tell me this is not real
Can't believe this happened! What did Lucifer and Maze did to that blue eyed killer? Please tell me he suffered...
Ragnarok (2020)
What do you mean?
There's definitely a season 3 , season 2 is still just a huge tension building, now everyone is exactly who they're supposed to be, a war is coming. Also, I saw a comment saying this show has full on communist elements by including people of Color and lesbians n so on, so what? What is your point, that an all white all straight cast is what should be? I'm sorry but you're delusional, we don't live in that world, everywhere you go those people exist, deal with it.
Ragnarok: Power to the People (2021)
Um...
What a mesmerising actor-Gísli Örm Garðarsson,he played Vidar so well, so does Synnøve Macody Lund as Ron, in fact all the villains are great, oh what am I talking about, all cast are amazing! I was kinda hoping Vidar would rise back to life given he's a major player, maybe not, I don't know what it says in the Norse mythology.
Ragnarok: Brothers in Arms (2021)
Comeback strong
So many lines and scenes that just had me laughing out loud, love how it makes me feel.
This Is Us: The Adirondacks (2021)
I knew it
I knew it, that Kev and Madison won't get married, partially from those teasers in which Kevin came to his mom alone. I also knew Kate's marriage wouldn't last because Toby is a lot, I don't know, he's just a lot, not because of his depression, but because of something I can't really explain. I kinda dig Kate and the British guy, I feel he gets her. Oh boy, it's gonna go down . Poor madison, she has never been really loved except by Kate, and it hurts and hit home when she said she would take any scraps of affection she could get. What more does she need to say, let's please give her a happy ending, I sure as h*ll need one vicariously through her.
9-1-1 (2018)
A show with a heart and soul.
I see so many comments saying it's not realistic, yes, many scenarios are not realistic,I don't think when the creators created the show they were going for realism, because think about it, it's the crazy situations that grab the audience. And to offset this, they add a lot of personal relational elements to flesh it out, and it's these parts that make the show so beautiful and at times deeply moving. I don't believe the creators are trying to make firefighters, paramedics, police and other responders look bad or silly, they're trying to emphasise their great qualities. For those working in the field i salute you, but please think about this.
9-1-1: Survivors (2021)
Someone stop the waterworks
I'm not crying, not at all,not even a little bit. Can't believe i have to wait for a while before the next season comes out.
This Is Us: I've Got This (2021)
Oh my god
Awkward dinners together, but also perfect. Rebellious Tess one didn't get sorted out cuz she's gonna be like way for a while
