Star Trek (2009)
Roller-coaster of Excitement!!! Awesome installment!
I had expected negative comments from this movie initially, when I first heard the production had started. I was thrilled to hear a new installment of the Star Trek franchise was being made. To hear marvelous comments from this movie itself drew me in even more to watch it. I had anticipated watching the movie all week, since it has been hectic, but sitting in that theater for over 2 hours is definitely WORTH doing since the movie was AWESOME!!! Non stop action every step of the way, although the plot itself is a little confusing while I watched the movie. I admit to wikipedia'ing the plot after I got home, but Chris Pine is an absolutely wonderful actor, and takes on the role of James Tiberius Kirk so well, and Zachary Quinto could not have been a more perfect choice for Spock. An excellent job from the supporting cast, and of course the lovely J.J. Abrams whose hard work pays off in this action packed ride-of-your-life movie. An AWESOME MOVIE WORTH SEEING AGAIN AND AGAIN (if you've got the time) and for the girls drooling over Chris Pine, he looks so good even when he is beat up. GO SEE IT!
The Ruins (2008)
another excuse for Americans to drink and panic on a vacation
When watching the previews, and the commercials on TV, I honestly thought this movie was going to be slightly different than other horror flops.
4 Americans go on a vacation to Mexico. You do the math: alcohol + European mingling + an unexplored region of Mexico = a disaster written all over it.
An excuse for a sex remark at times, and constant complaining coming from an ignorant blonde.
When the audience laughs more than they are scared, there's something wrong, and when you laugh during a crying scene, then you know the movie sucks.
Absolutely awful, perhaps the $10 should have been used on Nim's Island or something of that sort, maybe Leatherheads?
Saw III (2006)
This movie will please hardcore Saw fans
This movie, as always with the previous Saw installments, has once again proved to be worthwhile. The set-ups were great, the torture devices and scenes were unimaginable with NO limits whatsoever, and the ingenious traps Jigsaw puts on all of his victims were unbelievable. Saw 3 will keep you wondering what will be the outcome of the end. No doubt did this movie impress me and hopefully Saw fans as well. Now, as a warning, this movie did have some EXTREMELY sickening scenes with constant groans from audience in theater, but will nonetheless please its viewers. I highly recommend fans, and anyone who loves a good gross-out horror movie buff to see this latest Saw installment.
