Baby Reindeer (2024)

By the end you will think the main character is the dumbest man alive

I am guessing this show is getting high numbers because of the subject matter. Because the story itself and characterisation is pretty mid. I would say the best thing about the series is the performances shown by the actors. Which was excellent.

If this wasn't based on a true story, I would imagine one would be saying the main character is the most unrealistic dumb character they have ever seen. It's like you're watching Homer Simpson in real life, but without the endearing factor of the character.

By the end you will come to believe that he enjoyed the torture he has lived through the season you just watched, that he comes back to look for more afterwards. Some indirectly by listening to his stalker's messages over and over like a common psycho, or more directly by trying to meet his tormentor(s) after the fact. He is a proper loser.

Easily one of my most hated characters I have seen on tv. And it's based on a true story. So an actual person behaved like this? Sheesh.

This show was 7 episodes of 30+ minutes, and it still had a lot of filler to fill up that short amount of time. How many times must we see the unfunny comedy act? Not enough apparantly.

Really dissapointed watch. I was expecting an 8 rating show, and got a 6 instead.

Attack on Titan (2013–2023)

The story starts with the gate to the sheeps being left open

I am not sure if the creators of Attack on Titan intended the inference to the religious Sheep's Gate: a place where the people society didn't want were abandoned to. However considering the overall quality of this series, I wouldn't put it passed them. Especially as it works perfectly with the story being told.

This is one of the best television series I have ever seen. Not just anime, but of ALL of television. This is now the show I would rate closest to perfection, that I almost was considering giving it a 10.

It's amazing. It has Babylon 5 levels of earlier shown moments in the series becoming focal later on. It - is - AMAZING! (don't forget to watch the OVAs)

There are so many good things to say about this show. Choosing just one example. In season 1 when Eren says he's going to "kill them all", and we as the viewer are full on board with him.... Eren hasn't changed in season 4. He's still the same as in season 1 in his vindication when we were cheering him on to get his revenge.

WE as the viewers changed by that time by being aware of the entire story.

This is must see tv. Top tier.

Doom Patrol (2019–2023)

One of the best comic adaptions, with a sublime ending

I just finished the last episode of the series, and damn not only did Doom Patrol distance itself from the normal superhero fare with their insane style of storytelling. They also gave one of the most heartfelt endings of any tv series I have ever seen. What a perfect ending.

This version of the Doom Patrol (at least in the first 2 seasons) had stories which were heavily influenced by Grant Morrisson's comic book version, a.k.a. One of my favourite comic runs ever. Knowing this beforehand I was kind of worried of how I would feel about the execution. However it was love at first sight.

Very good casting choices, as all the actors are great in their roles. It's also as if they were taken from the comic pages. The effects are amazing. The stories are crazy fun yet with a lot of character in them to make you care about these rag tag group of freaks. (again, FANTASTIC ending!)

Doom Patrol is not only one of the best superhero adapations created for the small screen, but also among the better television series overall. I can definitely recommend this.

The Patient (2022)

Giving us something different than the norm.

I liked The Patient well enough.

It was a different kind of show than we are used to. Almost no action at all apart from a gruesome killing here and there. The series basically consists of two people talking to each other for 90% of the time. Keeping the interest of the viewer while doing so is a quality of the acting and the writing, although I don't feel they succeeded fully in that.

This is 10 episodes of round about 25 minutes each. Yet I still think this could have been shortened a bit more. At the mid-end point you kind of feel you are seeing the same conversation and situation without any progress.

Adding the scenes of the Jews in the concentration camp dream sequences didn't make much sense (to me) and felt a bit out of place. The make-believe talks with the dead shrink were interesting and obviously serve a purpose for the victim to try and deal with being captive while at the same time try and solve his own family problems. They became a bit tedious after a while if I am honest.

These fake conversations were made to somehow excuse the actions of the son, but while the main character comes to some kind of reconciliation in his mind with his son eventually. As the viewer I didn't actually feel the same, and still thought his son was a complete *beep* for how he acted. Yet we are somehow being force-fed the father was not accepting of his sons' new way of life and that was the actual problem...... nah.

Which would be one of the biggest negatives of The Patient in my opinion. You don't feel that the "bad" people of the series (in which I include the main character's son) get their just deserves. One could say that the show is not only different in its premise and execution, but also in how the story concludes.

However it is such an unsatisfying watch in the end because of it.

Fleabag (2016–2019)

Did not expect to like this as much as I did

You know those highly rated series on IMDB, which after you watch a couple of episodes you can't fathom how they got people to give them such high scores? I was fully expecting Fleabag to be one of those shows.

Damn, was I wrong.

So I went into this with a lot of scepticism, and the first scene almost veered me off. As the series starts with a sex scene. Nothing wrong with that, but I always feel a such a scene is a sign of a weak story that a show needs to resort to that to fill time or entertain the viewer.

So from the get go this was sort of giving me "Sex and the City; in Britain" vibes..... Which I guess this sort of is, but soooo much better.

In 12 short 20 minute episodes I have been made to care, despise, feel sorry, laugh with some of these characters like a lot of other series fail to do with loads more screen time.

Fantastic acting, fantastic characterisation, fantastic writing and production. This show is as close as any series has come to being a perfect 10 to me. Which doesn't mean much to anybody reading this, but that's high praise indeed.

Fleabag is amazing. You should watch it.

Happy Valley (2014–2023)

The ending felt a bit abrupt, but otherwise great show

So I just finished the 3rd season of Happy Valley.

I don't think I really liked the last 20 minutes of the series all that much. At least in the sense that it isn't really up to par to the rest of the show. We get an intense confrontation to end the overarching storyline of Happy Valley. However I felt the resolution we were given felt a bit out of character from the villain.

The third season's separate storyline even has its conclusion off camera...

I would think they knew they were getting 6 episodes beforehand, yet the final minutes of the show just feel kind of like they were running out of time.

It's not a horrible ending though, nothing series' destroying a la Game of Thrones, I just felt it could have been handled better.

Still a fantastic series with amazing acting chops being shown throughout by everybody, with intense scenes and storylines. Well worth your time.

Everwood (2002–2006)

First season is an 8, and then it devolves

So I am old enough to have seen this when it first aired on tv. I never watched the entire thing, and thought recently that I should change that as I had fond memories of the show and wanted to find out how it held up today.

And the first season actually holds up pretty good. A father brings his family to a rural town after his wife dies, as he tries to become a better father to his children who he has sort of neglected for most of their lives. Ephram (the son) already starts out annoying, but you can sort of understand his anger at his father trying to be a family man a bit too late.

We get introduced to the other doctor in town, who actually ended up being one of my favourite characters of the show along with his son Bright, who starts out feuding with the main character as he starts up a competing practice in the small town.

Fun characters, realistic drama, you have your impossible love triangle with a surprising twist and beautifull scenery. Yep, Everwood is up to a great start.

It's in later seasons where the show's entertainment value takes a drop, when both Ephram and Amy become absolutely insufferable ungratefull drama queens. They really are made for each other, as I could not stand either of them by the end of the show.

I honestly don't understand how the series shows them as being the couple who you should root for (the Ross and Rachel of the show so to speak) when they are shown to be absolutely horrible human beings. Same for the father and his interest in his neighbour. I did not care for either of them either as they likewise progressively became bad people due to their actions.

All in all I am glad to have seen the entirety of Everwood, but I wouldn't really recommend it besides the first season. The show does have a proper ending if you do decide to watch it all though.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022– )

Not for everybody

This is honestly a below average show. It has a unique quality in that one of the characters has autism, but that by itself does not a good show make.

We have the hyper inteligent autistic attorney, who while the series wants us to take seriously despite her disability, at the same time is used as a comedy vehicle throughout the series with her 'silly' antics.

Either law in Korea is at the level of a cartoon show, or what happens in the court room is not portrayed realistically. I just saw the episode where a doctor is asked to prove which injuries were sustained during which particular attack, and his answer is literally "well I am a doctor" and everybody went "well he sure got us there".....no. Just no.

A grown man who falls in love with a person who as a person has only shown herself to be at the level of a 6 year old kid and acts like it to boot. Let's put this one in the highly disturbing bracket.

Halfway through the show I couldn't take it any more and quit.

As a court room tv show, EAW is not that good. The cases are original, but the way they are handled just are not satisfying in a realistic sense. As a comedy it's not working unless you find laughing at autistic tendencies funny. As a drama I honestly don't care if the adult man gets into a relationship with somebody who mentally acts like a toddler.

I probably went into this show with too high expectations considering all those tens being handed here, but damn what a dissapointment.

Galavant (2015–2016)

I don't even like musicals, but I loved Galavant

This series is so good I even wanted a happy ending for the bad guys.

A comedy show which is actually funny and full of wit, with fantastic and talented actors, which includes the supporting cast, cancelled before its time but luckily besides the laughter and charm this show even gave us a proper ending.

Yes, Galavant is a musical. You will see the cast sing multiple times per episode. As somebody who doesn't even like the special musical episodes in his normal tv series. I can understand that's a big moat to cross to give Galavant a try...well that and I don't think this is being streamed anywhere.

However if you dare, if you dare to give this show a chance. The humour and characters will grab you by the collar and won't let go. And then if you liked the first season, you're in for a treat as the 2nd one is even better and funnier.

I can not recommend Galavant enough. Must see.

Flower of Evil (2020)

"You can't affect me"

I just finished this series, and I have to say that was a great ride full of suspense.

Oh Flower of Evil has its faults. For instance the accident which instigates the family set-up of the main character, pretty damn unlikely. At some point a cop takes evidence outside the normal channels for literally no reason at all, because otherwise it would ruin the story.

Or the one where we are supposed to believe that apparantly making photos was impossible in the year 2002. Class photos, ID photos, people using their mobile phone (yes those existed and were in widespread use by then) camera function? Nope. No photos exist of certain characters at all....

However if you ignore those things, and let yourself get caught in the flow, you will be rewarded with one of the better Korean tv series. Very good acting by most all, with a special mention to the two kid actors who did amazing. The story drags a bit in the later quarter of the show, however the ending episodes really drive it home wonderfully.

I especially liked how they used the epilogue episode to basically create all new drama for certain characters. That one episode could have basically been it's own show.

Steins;Gate (2011–2015)

A regular harem anime disguised as a sci-fi show

This series is mind numbingly boring for most of the episodes. So much so that even in the rave reviews you get warned about the 'slow start' , or that it will all be worth it with the ending.....it wasn't.

The premise of the time travelling antics, which is the most interesting thing about Steins Gate, becomes somewhat of an afterthought (untill the last few episodes) or maybe more of a vehicle to turn the focus of the show into the main character keeping his relationships with all the members of his harem alive and kicking.

We got a lolli who talks in the third person and says tooteterooooo all the time. Yes she's the most annoying character and she gets a LOT of screen time. We got a moe cat person who says meow even in a serious discussion. We got rando women who all get super shy and red faced when they come in contact with the main character. Who wouldn't love a completely asinine pervert who touches his assistants in the no-no places of their body without consent?

"BeSt AnImE EvEr!"

There's literally no interesting character to be found in the 20+ episodes of Steins Gate. Even Kurisu, who's the most normal one at the start, makes absoluletly no sense in her blind devotion to the main character plus what happens later on as she completely devolves into a wet bag.

Some of the reveals at the end are surprising, but that's more because they make no sense. The reveal of FB in particular. There were so many easy ways for FB to stop the main character considering the influence FB has over Okabe in their normal lives when you think about it.

But then that's what you have to do to somewhat get through this show: don't think about it too much. Oh we suddenly can't change something in the past because of A B C time lines, while we could change EVERYTHING else with no problems.....oh my god the science babble is horrendous.

As you watch, you clearly get the idea that NONE of these characters should be remotely smart enough to come up with time travelling or its concepts. However I guess that doesn't really matter, as Steins Gate is simply yet another harem anime where the goofy main character attracts a group of women who all love him completely without any explanation. The rest is all circumstantial.

The Practice (1997–2004)

You might want to ignore the last season....

I finally got to watch the entirety of The Practice after having watched the first few seasons as a kid on tv. And it holds up. It holds up pretty damn good even.

If you like the Good Wife, then there's a good chance you will like The Practice. Great characters and actors portraying them, from the main actors to the district attorneys and the judges. A lot of interesting cases with plot twist resolutions which you don't see coming, Besides being episodic, it also sometimes has long term storylines which take place the entire season(s).

This series is played straight and serious. The cases and situations become a bit more outlandish in the last seasons, but nothing too ridiculous.....untill season 8.

Season 8 isn't really the last season of The Practice. I would say season 7 makes for a MUCH better series' end. As it was intended to be, as they didn't know an 8th season would be made at that point. The 8th season however is more a preview for the spin-off Boston Legal. The main characters we know and love are relegated to bit players (or removed from the show entirely even) to accomodate the Alan Shore character.

From that point on this is no longer a serious show, but some ridiculous series of schmuckery with an House MD like character doing all kinds of illegal acts and being the worst type of human, yet gets away with it and gets portrayed like the cool main guy. When in reality, much like House, he would have been fired and even imprisoned for his actions long ago.

I don't know if I will watch Boston Legal. As it pretty much stars Alan Shore and the newly introduced Tara Wilson and Denny Crane. One who is one of the most wooden actors I have ever seen who totally didn't get chosen for their looks alone, and the other one is WIlliam Shatner calling out his character's name repeatedly like a Pokemon.

Maybe when I don't expect a serious series, I might enjoy it more and thus maybe appreciate Boston Legal more. However the complete turnaround of how this show was portrayed in season 8 versus it's previous 7 seasons is simply amazing. But not in a good way.

Raised by Wolves (2020–2022)

Pretty damn good sci-fi

Such a shame that Raised by Wolves got cancelled by HBO. It probably played a part that it might have been one of the more expensive ones they were making at the time, as the show looks damn amazing.

¿Still worth a watch despite it only having 2 seasons, and ending with a bit of a cliff hanger and many unanswered questions? I would say a resounding yes.

This is one of the more original, off the wall, never know what's going to happen next, tv series I have ever seen. You know what the status quo of the show is going to be? Nah aah, here's another element to the story and to this new world we are introduced to.

Such a shame. I think we are seriously missing out on some more f'n crazy ideas the writers had planned for these characters.

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)

Everybody has a different opinion and taste...

..but I would honestly believe it if somebody told me that all the high ratings Ted Lasso has received were made by bots paid for by the multi billion company who created this show.

I don't even know what to call it. It's not a comedy as there hasn't been even 1 grin worthy moment in the 3 episodes I watched. It's not a dramedy either as I am not made to care about any of the extreme caricatures which show up in the series. This has simply been a groan worthy experience throughout.

Best parts of the show. The prodcution values. Everything looks great. You could almost be fooled you're watching a high quality show. The owner of the club is easily the best character in the series, every time she was on screen the scenes were made somewhat interesting.

Worst parts. Everything else. Ted Lasso is basically combining the innocent child like obvlivious character like say Kimmi Schmidt, into a setting like Major League where the owner is trying to sabotage her own team. However in combining them making them devoid of any humor whatsoever or characters you want to like.

I can fully understand a character in the show wanted some time apart from Ted Lasso. I am only seeing him for 20 minutes or so in an episode and I can't stand his overly "Americahn" accent where everything is about love and sweetness and just put a cherry on top of that in case there wasn't enough sugah. Damn dude.

So I gave it 3 episodes as I saw from some reviews that's when the show gets good. I didn't notice any difference at all to be honest. You can easily tell from the first episode alone if this is for you or not. Considering I am seeing people say that the first season was the best. (how BAD must the following ones be!?!?) It was definitely time to bow out.

If you're looking for an unfunny show with amazingly annoying characters, Ted Lasso is definitely for you.

The Legend of Korra (2012–2014)

Unfortunately a bit dissapointing

I just finished all 4 seasons and I can not say anything else than that Korra is a pretty average show. By itself not a bad thing, but going into this with the high expectations after having seen the original series. Damn.

Let's start with the good thing. The animations. By far the best thing about The Legend of Korra. The scenery, characters and fight scenes all look amazing. You will not get dissapointed by that, coming from The Last Airbender. It might even look a bit more polished than the original.

Once you take away the beautiful cover though, and look at the insides. It was a bit of a chore to watch the entire show, I felt myself being disinterested by what was happening on the screen a lot during these 4 seasons. Boring if you will.

Unlike The Last Airbender, the characters are not as fun or interesting. That goes for the good guys as well as the villains. A cool antagonist like Zuko or the rest of the Fire crew? Not even close. So while the action scenes looked amazing, I just sort of felt numb for them as the series didn't do its job by making me care what happens.

I didn't really care for the 1930's aesthetic of the show either. It just made things goofy in my opinion, and not the good kind.

If you're planning on watching Korra, there's a big chance you have watched Avatar already. And if so, it doesn't matter what warning people give you as you will watch Korra regardless just for the chance it even has a glimmer of quality that ATLA has.

So here's a consolation hug in advance to help you with your dissapointment after having seen this. I know, it wasn't as good. There there.

Fruits Basket (2019–2021)

It does NOT get better

So I just finished all 3 seasons of Fruits Basket. I liked the first season well enough, but didn't really see any reason for the high rating this show has received. I read online it builds up to bigger and better things in season 2 and 3.

It doesn't.

There are two (big) reveals which happen at the end of season 2 and the midpoint of season 3. One of them is really a "so what?" reveal, which really didn't seem as shocking as they were trying to make it. It just seemed convulated for no reason.

The other one one which comes out of nowhere. As in literally, as even the person who's secret this was totally forgot about it himself. It sounds dumb because it is.

And this secret really does not have the consequences it deserves. You really couldn't just grab somebody and push them away in the other direction......really?

The main antagonist of the show really is not threathening at all. There's absolutely no reason at all that anybody should be afraid or acting like a servant towards the antagonist. Even the smallest Zodiac member could literally kick that person's behind. Despite this everybody acts totally afraid of this person, and lets themselves be tortured to boot. For absolutely no reason.

The ending of Fruits Basket is downright horrible. There are literally no repurcussions to anybody who did something wrong. None. We just gonna act like it never happened and let's just all be friends. Power of friendship everybody! Woohoo!

The two male leads acting all non-loved and lonely throughout the show. Which changed when they came in contact with the female lead. One of them has a girl who wants to marry him and showers him with love since he was a kid. The other one has a literal female fan club for him at his school.....

That's the level of logic of this show. It's an ok series which makes you want to find out some of the mysteries you get shown early on, only to dissapoint you with the answers later.

Paranoia Agent (2004–2005)

Not my cup of tea

This anime started out very interesting, the first few episodes will leave you wanting more to find out what's behind the mystery. Is there a little boy with the bat, is his story all made up, are we all crazy?

By the middle of the series you will start caring less, and the ending with the reveal has to be one of the more anti-climatic ones I have seen. In the 2nd half of Paranoia Agent it just felt like this show tried to be deeper than it really is. This seems a bit of a shallow criticism, but I think one might agree this is the feeling you get when watching it.

The good: the anime looks great. There are original characters with premises you don't see a lot in other shows. I personally really liked the episode with the 3 people who were trying to commit suicide.

The bad: the story and resolution. By the end of the series I didn't think a lot of it made sense. The whole reasoning behind everything which happened was just plain weird. And not the good kind.

The Last Kingdom (2015–2022)

First few seasons are amazing..

.. I thought the last two were a bit of a chore to get through though.

So this series follows the life of Uhtred, a Saxon who gets kidnapped and then raised by Danish vikings. This duality gives him a special position in all the struggles between the Saxons and the invading Danes we get to see in the show.

His loyalties are constantly tested. And I do mean constantly. It's amazing how many times they get tested, yet he remains loyal. If I had to get nitpicky, because in the first seasons it didn't bother me at all, is that practically the same thing happens every season. It's like Jack Bauer in 24, where he just has to act against his own agency every season.

The first 2 or 3 seasons are amazing. They grab you and make you want to watch the rest a.s.a.p. Those would easily be an 8 out of 10 by themselves.

The last 2 bring it down though. Still a solid watch despite this, plus the show has a solid ending to the saga. Which is not always a given.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)

Wow

I'm not American. So while I've heard of the title "To Kill a Mockingbird" over the years, I didn't really knew what to expect going into this movie. While some others might have needed to read the book in school, and knew what was coming.

So while I read the synopsis, and I assumed it was going to be about the father defending the man from an injustice in court. Which was true to a point. However instead we were seeing this happen through the eyes of the children. Which gave a whole new dimension to the story in my opinion, and made for a really original and surprising (to me) experience. I really loved this movie because of it.

We don't even learn what the case is about at first, as the children don't get told. So we as the viewer don't get either. We only know that it's something big, when the kids go along with Atticus (the father) to the suspect's family and see all the worried and serious faces. There are hints here and there, where we as adults can connect the dots, while the children stay naive in their childlike innocence.

This is not even a horror movie, well I guess it sort of is considering the court case, but this movie had 2 scenes which really caught me off guard and actually made me nervous. The scene with the kid in the car (you'll know what I am talking about) and when they were walking through the woods. Both really well done scenes where they make the viewer anxious.

You know how some of the 'classic' movies with high ratings here seem a bit boring that you'd think the rating has more to do with the production values which could have been great for its time or nostalgia (cough Gone with the Wind cough) but no sir not for this one. "To Kill a Mockingbird" was an amazing experience from start to finish.

The Traitors UK (2022– )

"Oh...my...gawd!"

There's a bunch of problems I had with this show.

The first being that the contestants are acting extremely fake. Possibly due to encouragement of the production team to make for better tv. To me it was off-putting. These are people who met each other a day ago, and acting like the world is ending when a person they met minutes ago gets sent away.

The deck is extremely stacked against the non-traitors (in the beginning). This show is sort of an offshoot of the mafia game. The thing is with the mafia game you'd normally see it played with people who know each other, so when somebody becomes a mafia and acts differently because of it. They can sort of tell.

Here you are playing with complete strangers, and after 3 episodes they basically have to guess based on absolutely nothing at all who the 'traitors' are. So of course they are sending the wrong people off.

So the traitors don't only get to 'kill' somebody off, they ALSO have the benefit of the others sending the wrong people away every episode. Because they are literally deciding who to vote for by putting their finger in their mouth and then seeing from where the wind blows.

And of course every time a wrong person gets sent off, they bawl and cry and "oh nooooossss". Again, fake.

Possibly the biggest problem: There are no likeable characters. Usually in game shows like this you want to root for somebody to end up winning and that will keep you watching.

After 3 episodes I wished they would all lose.

Young Justice (2010–2023)

The first 2 seasons are great...

... the last 2 seasons though.

The fourth season especially, I would say about 4/5th of it was an actual chore to keep watching. The only reason I didn't stop was because of the time I had already invested in the series thanks to the first good seasons. However it was not exciting or entertaining, just really REALLY boring. Aarghh.

I don't think the timejump helped. I wouldn't say it was the cause of the lower quality shows, but the worse entertainment value did coincide with it. By the 4th season the show's main focus was more on completely other characters than the original 'Young Justice" members. None of them that interesting to boot, but I'd say the storylines with the og members in the final season were also pretty bland.

We got a good enough ending point after 4 seasons of Young Justice. So at least there's some conclusion. There's a bit of an epilogue for something which looked a WHOLE lot more interesting than what they did in most of season 4, but we won't be seeing that materialise on the screen any time soon as the show seems to have been ended by HBO.

First 2 seasons I would definitely recommend. This is easily an 8+ show in those seasons. The last two bring the whole average for the show down though.

Animal Kingdom (2016–2022)

Loses it's mojo in the later seasons

I don't think the main reason for the fall in entertainment in the last 2 seasons is because of the loss of one main character, but that it coincides with that person's departure is pretty much true.

Suddenly every episode was filled with flashback scenes with really unnecessary story or things we already knew happened. It really detracts from the present day story too when you suddenly get janked back to yet another flashback scene which didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. I'd say the last season is half flashbacks, and half present day scenes. Didn't feel that at all.

The first few seasons were fun in a crime riddled family under extreme manipulation by their matriarch sort of way. I don't think it is very realistic, but it's fun popcorn tv. Sort of Sons of Anarchy at the beach. The family dynamic with everybody having their own agendas and basically hating each other. Interesting and makes you want to find out what's going to happen. Spoilers: Death and betrayal, lots and lots of it. :D

It's not like the last seasons were horrible, but definitely a step back from what we had seen. Especially the last. The actual ending with the last episode was better than ok imo. It's worth a watch if you have nothing else lined up.

Our Blues (2022)

Have a tissue at hand to dry your man tears

Wow.

I just watched the final episode. I don't think I can properly put into words how amazing this show has been, but I'll give it a shot.

So Our Blues is a series where they follow a close knit group of people who live on Jeju. Where we get a number of episodes each which mainly focus on a couple of them and something dramatic which happens to them. And oh boy does it get dramatic. In the absolute best sense of the word.

The actors, all of them are amazing in their roles. Even the child actors are fantastic. Every one of them does a great job to drag you into their emotional situations and make you believe it's real, and makes you understand the character even if their choices would not be your own and empathise with them.

The stories are amazing. Every time you they changed the spotlight to different characters, I wished for it to remain with the ones we had before as I liked them so much, only for the new characters to become my new favourites. I didn't really care for the two teens at first, untill we got to their story and some of the most intense scenes I have ever seen when they talked to their fathers. Luckily most characters are seen throughout the series even when their story is done. So it's not like their story is done and then we don't see them again.

I laughed, I cried, and then I cried some more. The scene where Lee Byung-hun's character films the snowy mountain.... I think this will hit everybody more as they get older. I don't think I can watch that scene without getting teary eyed.

I can not stress enough how much I loved watching "Our Blues". This is must see tv. With one of the most perfect endings I have ever seen. Watch it, watch it, watch it!

Those Who Read the Hearts of Evil (2022– )

A more dramatised version of Mindhunter

It's almost impossible to not compare the two shows to each other, as this basically feels like a Korean version of Mindhunter.

We get to see how the first "profilers" make an emergence in solving crimes, we get the old guard scoffing at these new "brainy" guys and their weird antics, we get the interviews with the serial killers to find out what makes them tick, and using all the intelligence they have garnered to catch new ones running amock.

Because of all the simmilarities, it's also impossible to not compare the two shows. And while "Those who read the Hearts of Evil" is an entertaining show as well on it's own, "Mindhunter" is the one which ends up on top in my opinion. And by seeing how one does it better, it also makes you notice how the other does it worse in certain aspects.

This is a more sensationalised version. There are more extreme coincidences, there are more crazed serial killers, there's more drama shown by the characters. While Mindhunter feels more like they want to show a realistic almost documentary like show, this one feels almost more like they wanted to make a stretched out Hollywood movie.

And there's nothing wrong with that. This was an entertaining time waster.

Borgen (2010–2022)

Good series which loses it's political edge in the 3rd season

I liked the first 2 seasons more than the last one. The show always is about the relationships of the cast, however I feel that the political stories took a bit of a backseat to all the love lines which were invented.

Which is a shame as the premise of the main character suddenly being in one of the smaller parties was actually interesting. As it's a change of scenery versus what we have seen before.

But instead the focus in many episodes is on the relationship with the English speaking business man, or sudden infidelity urges at the tv station, or single mom finding love at work with older man.

The times when the actual political battles and problems got more focus, the show was much more interesting. It felt a whole lot more soap-y than the prior seasons.

Overall though a series well worth your time. Especially the first 2 seasons. With a main actress who did an amazing job at making you believe you are watching the life of a Danish political party member.
