The Sopranos (1999)
Simply & honestly put... overrated.
As a huge fan of gangster & mobster movies/shows, I have to admit, The Sopranos is overrated BIG TIME!! And this is coming from someone who is pleased easily with movies/shows! I don't expect a masterpiece with everything I watch, or with anything really, I just enjoy entertainment.
At times it reminded me of 'A Bronx Tale', 'Goodfellas', and other movies I love so I was glad I started watching it finally (in 2024) after all the hype. The difference was, this show did the same thing (perhaps not even as good) as those movies, except they forcibly extend it over 6 very long seasons of 1-hour episodes, the last season having like 21 episodes! The whole time expecting things to "pop" (given the nature of the show) only to find that when things DO "pop", they decide to end the whole thing quite abruptly leaving people guessing what happened, even 10+ years later. Ridiculous!
The Underdoggs (2024)
You get what you'd expect... Soooo...
I'm giving this movie a 10 out of 10 rating, not because I consider it a masterpiece in cinematic history, but because it delivers exactly what the targeted audience would expect... and maybe even more.
We need to start being fair with our reviews if we're gonna take the time to review something. If this type of movie is not your thing, then just don't watch it. And if you do decide to watch for whatever reason, knowing it's not your thing, then don't be an az$ and give it a horrible review.
There's a genre of music I personally don't like... But I'm not going to waste my time listening to it and then give it a bad review because I didn't like it... It's not MY thing so I don't listen to it!!! You don't go buy a V8 pickup and then complain that it's not gas friendly compared to your hybrid! It's that simple!
I mean, they literally give you the most clear, transparent and honest disclosure at the beginning of the movie!!!!
The Affair (2014)
Yaaaaaawn.....
I'll be honest, I only watched the first 3 episodes, so my rating is based on that. Seeing how so many people say only the first 2 seasons are ok, I can see I made the right decision to stop before I wasted more of my time and put myself through that mess of a show. I highly doubt "sht got good" after the 4th episode and this crap suddenly turned into an amazing show.
Boring, annoying, slow, uninteresting, nothing happens besides sex, characters are terrible, story is terrible, I don't know what else I can say. I can see a grandma (the older type hehe) maybe enjoying this because it's basically a boring soap opera from the 90s.
Sausage Party (2016)
100% not for kids!!! Nor for the easily offended!
I just watched this, in 2024. Hadn't heard much about it or seen people talk about it, I was just bored and thought "why not", while scrolling through Netflix.
If you don't like South Park, Family guy and the likes... If you're easily offended, if you're too religious, if you support and believe in gov, if you hate too much cursing, etc., then this is not for you. Don't waste your time and other people's time with your comments about the movie. I don't like Marvel movies, so I'm not gonna waste my time watching one and then waste more of my time giving it a negative review. To each their own, that's what's beautiful about life/humans, we don't all like the same sh**, we are not robots!!
Yes the movie is quite vulgar, obscene, tons of cursing and racial stereotypes, which, to some of us who still have a sense of humor, can be very funny, especially when you're bored and just wanna forget about all the BS around us. Lighten up people, you only live once!
Amsterdam (2022)
Loved it, need to watch again!
I started playing this movie not knowing what to expect, but knew it wasn't a comedy (yet I still got some good laughs), knowing it wasn't exciting adventure, crazy action, or sci-fi, all of which I love, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find myself attached to the story from the beginning, with lots of questions yes, which only added to the intrigue.
Acting was great, so many big names, and good to see it covering important historical events.
Seems like most negative reviews are either politically triggered, or by people who just can't keep up with a story and should stick to cartoons.
Tulsa King (2022)
Gave us a taste of how things really go down...
The only thing I didn't like about it is how they made the ATF agent seem as if her wrongdoings were simply because of emotional reasons.
But it shows us how, in the real world, all these 3 letter word US agencies create, fund, arm, and/or work with "the bad guys". From drug kingpins in Latin America, to terrorist organizations in the M. E., until the "bad guys" are no longer useful to them and then these agencies betray them, never being held responsible for their own crimes. 99.9% of the time it's not "feelings", it's strategy, it's them who are the biggest bad guys, but they get away with it.
Home Team (2022)
Great family movie
I'm not sure what these people with negative reviews were expecting.
It's a funny sports movie with plenty of silly laughs for the whole family. Also interesting that it was based on a true story.
Nuevo orden (2020)
If you're SUPER bored... Find something else!
Find something else to watch or do, even if you're bored. Go for a walk, read a book, ANYthing!
*Update* - after reading more 10-star "best movie ever" reviews (says a lot in itself), it's clear these are biased and politically charged. Some say if you don't like it, it's because you don't live in MX, others say it's because you're part of the problem, but they mostly all say MX can be there soon because of the current MX gov.
First of all, I'm Mexican and live in Jalisco, my parents' neighborhood was a war zone for months a few years ago, several of their neighbors were killed. All of the violence in MX is thanks to previous administrations, especially since Calderón/Garcia Luna (look them up). The current gov is not dividing the country, he is fighting corruption and calling out all the corruption, the corrupt rich don't like it cause it affects their pockets, and now these clowns call that "dividing the country".
"SPOILER* - This started off ok, but after the people trashed the wedding, nothing made any sense. Disgusting scenes which I could do without, we can guess what happens!
We don't know WHY anything happened, and are left guessing. The military is suppressing the poor, but also kidnapping, raping, torturing and killing the rich, yet some rich (including victims' family members) are still treated like kings, WTF?
*"Conspiracy theory" alert* - with everything that's currently going on in the world, my conspiracy mind has to ask; Is this supposed to be a glimpse into what's being planned? First, the name, "Nuevo Orden" - New Order, as in the New World Order, which has now been renamed to "The Great Reset". The World Economic Forum talks about this and Klaus Schwab recently wrote a book called 'Covid 19: The Great Reset'. They openly tell us that in a few years, "you will own nothing and be happy".
There are many places trying to force a vaccine pass to be allowed to participate in society, which some believe will lead to real martial law.
I could go on for a while, but you get the point. Especially when the movie explains nothing, makes no sense, just seems like predictive programming to me.
"Positive reviews" - I read several reviews praising the movie, saying things like "Don't pay attention to negative reviews", wanting to make it seem like those of us who didn't like it are just idiots who don't understand anything. A lot of these reviews make reference to the idea that this could easily happen in Mexico and that our government is dividing the country and bla bla bla... If anything, I could see this happen in the US, Israel, most European nations, it's almost there in Australia... Nations that are taking covid measures to the extreme. While Mexico's president recently said we "need to be careful and not let big pharma dictate our internal policies" and so on and is the only president in my lifetime who is prioritizing the lower class and indigenous communities. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the president on this, but IMO this eliminates any credibility from these reviews. This, again, might just be the conspiracy theorist in me, but I think these reviews are from people with a political agenda more than being honest about a film review.
Either way, this movie sucked!
Unacknowledged (2017)
Awesome work.
It's great to have people working to provide us average joes with information the government wants to keep hidden.
Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (2020)
Love it.
Whether you agree or not, you have to appreciate the work put into this, and yes, the risk these people take.
When you have evidence of certain things, such as government declassified documents, and you still refuse to believe certain things, then that's on you, but do yourself a favor and don't make the attempt to ridicule others for what they believe.
