Lift (2024)
What happened here?
It really truly seems like no one cares anymore. Who writes the stories? Who was in charge? Why do class acts like Jean Reno sign for a picture of that kind?
It has quality issues are glaring. The greenscreen often too. The story is ridiculous and badly written and the dialogue is abhorrent. It just makes no sense. Often times people don't speak like that. It's plain bad. The jokes are flat. The premise laughable. Characters underdeveloped and really. Vincent D'Onofrio deserved better.
If you don't care being taking for dumb and want to burn your brain cells. Go for it. As for Netflix and most people involved ... shame on you. I wouldn't waste my time with this.
Enola Holmes 2 (2022)
What a bad movie
It could've been nice and fun. Instead it's shallow on the nose times 10 and the pandering is off the charts.
Basically men are useless, evil or dumb. Sometimes all at once. Sherlock is slow, weak always a step behind. No one fights better than Enola. No one solves cases better than her. Women are better by virtue. Smarter, faster not elegant and what have you.
In the end women move together. Women break free enola, whilst Sherlock was just written out. And the dialog often at times was just so painful. It is a real waste of talent and time. The very end is sprinkled with a race swapped Watson and no one should lose their time on this.
Almost Fly (2022)
Seriously well done
I tend to cringe with German shows. But this one hits all marks. No unnecessary exposition. No loose ends. No fillers. A well balanced story that is acted by very charismatic actors set well in the 90s. Love the heart of this show. And the story it's told with all the side plots and how every character is growing.
Nik is low key the hidden champ. And Bens and W's story has character and grit. So true and relatable the struggles they're dealing with and to see them grow and manage it all so well. I find it depicted the German culture of yesterday perfectly and it was nice to see that obvious on the nose acting wasn't a thing.
One thing that bothered me. I don't think Germans were that proficient in the English as depicted here. But I could be mistaken.
Hotel Artemis (2018)
Underrated and underserved Movie
This movie has so much potential ans i really enjoyed watching it. But some instances were shaky. Bad Story or Dialogue or omission thereof seem to jump in and out of it frequently. I would love to see a remake of this with the same main cast but a significantly better script and dialogue ... then we're talking.
