The Legend of Vox Machina (2022)
Great animated show!
I have only watched a little of critical role, but have played a lot of d&d throughout the years.
Didn't know what to expect of this show, but after watching 2 episodes, I am quite pleasently suprised! Great characters and interaction between them, the voice acting is really on point, the animations are good (not great, but good!), the story is captivating, and also a healthy mix of humor and gore.
Very much looking forward to the progression of the series! Well done!
Kastanjemanden (2021)
Good suspense
I moved from Danmark from Sweden and started watching this just to improve my Danish. I never watch crime series ordinarily, this is pretty much the first one, but this series has got me hooked! Good acting, a lot of suspense and good drama and psychological portraits of the characters! Well worth a watch!
Angels of Death (2021)
Entertaining and got "soul"
I remember many years ago when the Ultramarines movie was released. Man that was bad, Dan Abnett is my favorite author, and I was shocked when I realised he wrote the script.
Fastforward to today and we have warhammer plus and the series Angels of Death.
The animations are OK if you count the number of polygons. But the "soul" is there, the visuals are there to carry the story.
Sound effects and audio are on point, really well done.
Story, setting, dialogue and characters are also great and are just to the WH40k setting.
This was made by people who really enjoy WH40k, for people who really enjoy WH40k.
Could I show this to my wife who doesn't understand why I spent money I could buy a car for on minis and other WH-stuff? Hell no!
As a fan of 40k, did I really enjoy this? Hell yes!!!
Seuwiteuhom (2020)
Good character driven horror
Well written believable characters that develop throughout the series, which is not to common in this genre. You actually care about these characters. Cgi is not the best since the budget of this series was not big, but it's good enough to generate suspense and 1000 times better than what I grew up with (tried rewatching some cgi dependant from my childhood, I remembered them as almost real but to my surprise with today's standards they are horrible, my video games look better).
I would rate this series 8.5/10 (but I'll put 10 here to balance some of the very bad reviews that does not make this series justice)
Dragon's Dogma (2020)
Good anime if you like fantasy
Well done animations, I like the style, good characters and story. A good show, not great, but perfect if you got some spare time and liked Castlevania on Netflix. The English voices were horrible though, horrendous truly. Much better if you switch to Japanese or German voices, and use English subtitles. If you wanna hear something cool, listen to the dragon in German, it's amazing :D
Polar (2019)
Gory action movie with mostly good cast
This movie has gotten crazily mixed reviews. Some love it, some hate it. It's a niche film, I grew up with action movies in the 90s, did'nt have to many VHS, but of the ones I had, it was a lot by Steven Seagal. Watched this movie with a friend also born in the 80s. We loved it, great, over the top gore and action, and Mads does a good job of portraying the retiring assasin.
Will you like it? I have no idea, but at least give it a try if you like action, and don't have a problem with sex, drugs, gore and some cheesy cartoonish characters (most people don't seem to realize it's based on a comic).
