Better than you think

While most people paned this movie, it's actually pretty good. First of all the music is incredible! But the thing i appreciate most is, it has good meaning. There were many interesting and way ahead-of-its-time gadgets. The acting is wonderful. Yes it's very cheesy, but give it a second chance.

Worth it!

"Superman II" was the first movie I watched over and over, (the first one was awesome too, but the second was my favorite) so I am very critical of anything Superman. Especially when someone is trying to pick up where Christopher Reeve left off -I consider "Smallville" and "Lois and Clark" a different take on the story-. I was leery of seeing Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, as I love his other work so much I was afraid I'd see that but, boy was I gratefully wrong. I think that both Kevin Spacey and Brandon Routh played their characters perfectly. They "channeled" enough of Gene Hackman and Christopher Reeve, respectively, while adding their own characteristics to make them exactly what I think this movie was going for. I enjoyed the other characters as well, though I wish they had gotten a little older Lois. Eva Marie Saint was a charming touch too. The story was great and the continuity from the second movie was pretty close. Hearing John Williams music again made me almost jump up right then and there and cheer. That music makes "Superman", "SUPERMAN"!

Very different than what I expected
2 February 2006
Having been a fan of Jannette Oke and her books for years, I was very excited to see this book made into a movie. I prepared myself for it being different than the book, but I was disappointed to find almost everything different. Over all it was a good story, just nothing like I had read. I joked to myself that the only thing the same were the names, then they went and changed one of the names in the very next scene. They added too many different scenes and cut out some of the best things from the book. The only thing I loved was the actor who played Clark. He was just what I had pictured in my mind all these years.
