Stranger Things (2016)
Starts ok but falls apart
First season is quite nice and original. In season 2 this starts to fall apart and in season 3 it's degraded to a kids show with bad comedy and over the top action scenes. I couldn't watch any further.
The Gray Man (2022)
Very disappointing
Very disappointing movie with such a great cast. I expected to be entertained but it went from one dull moment to the next. Very simple plot that never got to any excitement whatsoever. One to quickly forget.
La casa de papel (2017)
Stupid
It's in the same league as The A-Team: 4 guys shooting 2000 rounds each with a single clip and don't hit Gandia. I stopped watching after that. Complete waste of time.
Penn & Teller: Fool Us (2011)
Great!
Wow,I Just love this! Great show, top presentation and lovely respect for artists. Just top.
1917 (2019)
Boring
Way overrated, yet beautyfully filmed picture. I went here because of all good reviews. But was disappointed. Not much story. Telling the story of World War One in a '12 year old' rating is impossible. It's like hell, wrapped in a nice giftbox with candy. Not good.
The King (2019)
Overrated
Slow and boring tale about a made up king. Mare up, because historically this tale never happened the way it is told here. So it's a mare up story that usually is more fun than the real thing, right? Wrong! What a drag this is.
Contratiempo (2011)
Overrated
Usually I'm not the reviewing type. But the overrated reviews that are placed here made me. Thus movie starts way over the top with all kind of annoying facts. I hate that.
The Man Who Saved the World (2014)
Really boring
Well... Yes, I lived through the cold war. And yes, war was painfully close a couple of times. And there are some good movies made about the time period. Thirteen Days being one of the best (Cuban Missile Crisis). This has nothing to do with that. This is not even close. So if you are expecting some exciting movie like that, look elsewhere. This is a documentary about a Russian military man that prevented nuclear retaliation based on false intelligence. He 'did not push The Button'. Nothing more, nothing less. It's no small feat, don't get me wrong. But this is no exciting Hollywood thriller either. It's boring basically.
Constantine (2014)
Meh
Well, I had high hopes for this one. But unfortunately it did not deliver. Pace is high. Too high. After the pilot a major character is gone off to family. Really? Story lines are rushed. Setting and scenery are quite good. Casting is quite good. It's all a bit too... slick. I for one don't buy it. And it's nothing new. We've seen witches, Dracula and vampires, werewolves, the lot. This is a new take, but it's more of the same. I am not really waiting for this. After watching three episodes I don't want to know what will happen next. A clear sign for me to say goodbye to this one. Ratings are quite high for this one. Hell, it's the reason I tried it in the first place. But enough is enough.
Kajaki (2014)
Minefields. Dreadful. Yes... and (in this case) boring.
First of all, I like realistic war movies. Stalingrad is a great example. But this one I would not call a 'war movie'. It could have just as good have taken place in Central Europe and the cast would have been children. I know what can take place in a mine field. I read many books about warfare when I studied history (specialized in WW2). Minefields have always been ugly. There are a lot of maimed children in Cambodia to tell a horrific tale. But
this movie just did not grab me. They get in the minefield by accident early on. Some go off. People get hurt. People get scared. And that's about it. Minefields... Ugly? Yes, they certainly are. Movie material? Hmm, maybe. But this is not one of them.
Vikings: All Change (2013)
Unbelievably bad ending to the season...
Don't get me wrong; this is a great series! But only 10 episodes in a season, combined with slow pace is strange by today's standards. Furthermore, the last episode of the season is terrible! Multiple story lines are left open. Why? They are not all that interesting. I cannot understand this at all. I hope this is not going to affect the rest of the series as the start was very promising. Having said that, I do think the story goes from left to right without any need to do so. It's all a bit, well, bland. It could be so much better! A note for the writers: if you want to know how to end a season: go watch Game of Thrones.
