Don't Talk to Irene (2017)
Funny, edgy, and heartwarming!
This movie was both edgy and heartwarming-which is not typical and one reason I loved it so much! Mostly feel good but some not so feel good thrown in to shake things up a bit. Funny too-both chuckles and laugh out loud. Really enjoyed it and very entertaining!
aTypical Wednesday (2020)
Funny and LOL. Loved this movie!
Funny. Laughed out loud. Loved the characters and the acting. Great story and clever. I want a sequel and a series-enjoyed it that much!! Will look for more movies by J Lee!
Feast of Love (2007)
Beautiful movie-wow. Loved it.
Beautiful movie on many levels. Wow. Not a light movie. Deep, extremely powerful, very thoughtful, great acting, makes one think and feel. Very memorable. Loved it.
Heartburn (1986)
Pretty good acting, terrible movie.
Yes, the acting was pretty good. The storyline was terrible. This might be the worst movie that I ever finished watching. I did have a few chuckles. I kept hoping it would get better but it only got worse. Worse than worse. Not sure how anyone could like it. Sigh.
No Clue (2013)
Funny movie!
This movie was funny and made us both laugh-which doesn't always happen. And I loved the retro feel and the music too! This may be one of my all time favorite movies-it was that enjoyable!
Amanda & Jack Go Glamping (2017)
Funny, silly, serious, quirky, enjoyable!
Funny, silly, serious, quirky, enjoyable movie! Liked the characters including the ones with small parts. I'm so glad I ignored the negative reviews. My husband liked it too and he doesn't usually like movies labeled as romantic comedies.
Kopy Kings (2016)
Loved this funny, quirky, silly, entertaining movie!
Really enjoyed this indie movie, the story, and the characters! Some of dialogue was a little hard to hear w/ the background music, but enjoyed the music too.
Permanent (2017)
quirky, funny, enjoyable
Quirky, different, funny, a little bit crazy, and enjoyable! I really liked it and laughed out loud. (My spouse didn't.) I was in high school and college in the 70s and 80s and experienced bad hair that didn't work with the hair fads back then which made me sympathize with the main character! Loved the characters, acting, story, and the ending too.
The Right Kind of Wrong (2013)
We both loved it!
My husband usually tolerates RomComs, but this one we both loved! This is definitely one of our favorite movies ever-funny and romantic, but not sappy. Enjoyed the music too. Best ending. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Sylvie's Love (2020)
Love Love Love!
Loved the actors, acting, story, clothes, furniture, cars, hair, music, cinematography, everything! Well done sweet movie-really enjoyed it and hope you do too!
The Map of Tiny Perfect Things (2021)
Tiny perfect movie - watch it!
Cute, tiny, perfect movie that made me smile and cry and made me thankful that I happened upon it. I hope it touches you as much as it touched me. Watch it!
Alpha House (2013)
Wow- funny, smart, superb acting, great writing!
Really enjoyed this show-extremely funny, superb acting, great characters, and intelligent writing! One of the best shows I've ever seen. So disappointed that show was cancelled.
Greenfingers (2000)
Might be my favorite movie of all time!
This might be my favorite movie of all time for many reasons-a bit of everything-failure, triumph, sad, hopeful, tender with some roughness, transformation, beautiful scenery, likable characters, fine acting, clever writing, and based on a true story which makes it even more special. If only every movie I watch could be of this caliber! Be sure to read the words at the end. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did!
Never Too Late (2020)
Glad I watched this!
Sweet. Sometimes sad. Beautiful. Tender. Romantic. Sometimes tragic. Great music. Smiles. Tears. Some laughs. Clever. To sum up, I'm glad I watched it.
The Skeleton Twins (2014)
Serious, dark, touching with some funny moments
Serious. Dark. Touching. Some funny moments. Not a comedy. Some beautiful moments. Sometimes visually beautiful. Bipolar. Sibling dynamics. Great acting.
Love, Repeat (2020)
Both sweet and sad.
Impressions: Different. Sweet. Sad. Pretty. Thoughtful. Lovely. Loving. Visually stunning. Magical. Chilly. Warm. Tender. Beautiful music. Romantic. Made me smile and chuckle. I loved it and glad I watched it. My spouse didn't like it, but no surprise because we often disagree about movies.
Love's Last Resort (2017)
Kind of cute, kind of absurd
Kind of cute because it's a romance with some nice moments and at the same time, kind of absurd and not believable. Sometimes so absurd that it's funny. I enjoyed it for what it is, but then again, I prefer rom-coms.
The Object of Beauty (1991)
Clever, odd, quirky-liked it!
Clever, odd, quirky, different, visually beautiful, mysterious, tragic. Enjoyed this film. It's not a traditional movie or a traditional comedy, but there is some humor. It did make me think. And isn't that what art is about?
Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011)
Almost didn't watch it
Almost didn't watch it based on the Storyline-which doesn't do it justice-but glad I did. Really, really good movie. And my kind of movie!
Sam (2017)
It keeps getting better!
Didn't like it at first, but stick with it-it keeps getting better! The transformation from so-so to good is surprising. Glad I didn't abandon like I was tempted to. It's worth watching. Enjoy!
Last Call at Murray's (2016)
Different. Liked it. Made me think.
Hard to describe this this film. Different. Raw. Stark. Strange. Complex. The human condition. A lot packed into this film. It made me feel and think without the distraction of flash and slickness. This is why I like Indy films and Indy film people!
God, Sex & Apple Pie (1998)
Not a comedy.
Not a comedy. Blah-medy. And the music is too loud. Bad acting. Terrible movie. Don't waste your time.
