Love & Death (2023– )

Much better than 'Candy'
31 May 2023
I watched candy last year and thought it was good but after watching love and death which did a great job of really showing the human side and felt more believable this is the better representation. Jessica beals version in candy seemed cold, calculating and narcissistic, in love and death Elizabeth Olsens version of Candy seemed more well rounded and human, she showed you how the murder could be more impulsive and emotional (though I'll never get over how she could leave the baby there alone, traumatized with no one coming to help it) most probably it's to do with the writing but maybe it's also to do with the actresses portrayal, it's pretty weird they did two versions of this story so close together, both are good but love and death was the winner for me.

After watching love and death this is sub par
31 May 2023
I watched this last year and thought it was good but after watching love and death which did a great job of really showing the human side and had a lot more emotion this doesn't seem like a good representation. In this version Candy seemed cold and calculating, in love and death you could see how the murder could be more impulsive and emotional, maybe it's to do with the writing and maybe it's to do with the actresses playing Candy, Elizabeth Olsen seemed much more well rounded and showed a human side that I think is more relatable and Jessica Beal's Candy seemed cold and narcissistic. It's pretty weird they did two versions of this story so close together, both are good but love and death was the winner for me.

I'm British and I prefer the American version
20 March 2023
Couldn't even get through season two of the British one and can't get enough the American series. Each week I'm excited for the next episode. Loved all the characters, the storylines are so funny, but also sweet and feel good. A light, funny series that we want to watch again and again. A good show to unwind too. I find Americans can really make British comedies so much better than the original, I'm British but I prefer the American version of the office as well. Sure I'm annoying the die hard fans of the originals on both shows, but that's why they get picked up for more series than the uk ones.

After Life (2019–2022)

Would have given more stars if it wasn't so preachy
18 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love Ricky Gervais, I like this show but I find his atheism stop preachy in it, I also thought his writing was lazy that the person he argues with about religion is shown as dumb and unable to argue back with him in an intelligent way. Good writing shows every side of a theme or argument and allows the audience to make up their own minds on the them- life? After life? It could have been even better with a non biased writing style. I think if penelope Wilton's character had been religious in some way that would have been a better character for him to have these deep conversations with and allowed each other their different views but found common ground.

You need to watch all three episodes
5 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
During the first episode, I still thought 'she did this'. I watched episode two and three and now I don't think she did. Her father was never looked into because he was a policeman and he abused her and her daughter, and if you watch all three episodes, you will understand why she wasn't convicted in court. I'm not here to convince anyone, but I think people should watch all three episodes before writing reviews and the people who refuse to watch this should watch this and make up their own minds with this information. It's like the general public and the media love to think a woman is a murderer and ignore the other evidence or suspects. Her dads a child molester and if you watch the funeral of her daughter, the things her dad says are creepy.

I study near death experiences. I read everything I can about them. This was rubbish. There was only two near death experiences in this, the rest was a load of drivel from the two men who thought their views on things were so important and interesting, and I couldn't even get through it. It had to keep speeding through, hoping for more actual near death experiences, but there was none. There are much better shows than this, like- I survived beyond and back - Familythat has actual near death experiences it's not biased towards Christianity. I believe in god and an afterlife but there are so many ndes that have different religions in them, I feel if you're going to make a documentary about near death experiences you should cover all of the different kinds, different religions, good and bad ones, hell, people who experience the void etc. They all lead to the same place which is love/heaven, but this focus solely on Christianity, which I think would put a lot of people off.
