I'm a 22 years old German history student who decided to justify and professionalize his excessive consumption of tv shows and movies by rating and reviewing them.
I want to try to rate movies with its genre or within whatever I consider to be their own goal. Meaning, even though I don't like action comedies that much for example - if I see a really good action comdy movie, I will rate it high.

Isi & Ossi (2020)
The average German romcom
I don't really know what to say about it. It was neither good nor bad. As a German I'm a bit confused about the praise of the American or International audience on netflix since I found nothing special about this movie but rather the average German romcom.
Especially that superfically "deep" and "socially critically" aspect of the movie is very typcial for German movies. There always has to be at least a bit of moralizing - no matter how little intelectually it is contributing - can't just make a comedy movie.
Again, it wasn't terrible either. I low-key enjoyed the Heidelberg/Mannheim clichees, since I live there myself. Nice visuals too. Some jokes were funny, a fair bit were pretty cringy.
Extracurricular (2020)
Good show, mediocre ending
Generally a pretty good show but I was disappointed by the ending. I don't think there was any need for a cliffhanger, nor is there any need for a season two. The show reached a its climax in episode nine and I was already exicted about an interesting (bad) ending that I would've found to be very fitting.
Like it is now, it leaves you with an unfinished feeling behind and a bit of a bad taste. If there will be a season 2, I highly doubt it makes any sense or will be as good as the inital seasons, since everything was pretty much over.
For christ sake, just let them either go to the police and be arrested or run away to Australia or whatever but make a decision and give the show an end. I hate tv-shows that are already made for the precule. Nothing is better than just a great show with 10 episodes and a great ending. Then it would've been 8-9/10.
Game of Thrones (2011)
One of the best shows in history until the end of season 6
Season 1: 8/10
Season 2: 9/10
Season 3-5 10/10 (Seriously the best seasons of any tv-show I have ever seen)
Season 6: 9/10
Season 7: 7/10 (Felt worse tho bc the standards were extremly high)
Season 8: Horrible. Can't rate it because you couldn't finish it. It was truly awful.
In total unfortunately only a 8/10. Could've been my favorite tv-show of all times but because of season 7+8 it sadly isn't.
Insidious (2010)
An average horror movie - could've been much better tho!
Depends on whether people find this movie scary or not, there are very polarized reviews rating it either 1/10 or 10/10. Neither is describing this movie accuratley.
I found it to be a quite average horror movie, not bad - not excatly good either. It delivers a promising start and actually left me quite scared round a'bout the half of the movie.
Then the same mistaktes occure that much of the genre is haunted by: overexplaining. No, sorry, you can legitimately explain the existence of different types of ghosts and an Outer world. Once the Ghost Busters arrived, I started laughing out loud - suddenly nothing about this movie was scary anymore. Why do horror movies feel this need to add a bad, unnesscary story line and pseudo-scentific explanations for impossible things?
Conisidering that the acting actually wasn't too bad and the effects and jump-scares were actually well-made, it is still overall not just your usual cringe-worthy horror-comedy movie. However, a different approach to the second half of the movie and this could've been actually a great horror movie.
Horns (2013)
Solid film with terrible ending
The titles says it all. The first half of the movie was great, the second half was less good and the last 15 minutes were terribly bad, so bad actually that it if you'd watch it with friends it could be entertaining again. Thus, I'm torn with my rating. If they'd made the second half of the movie as good as the first half, it would've been easily a 8. However, with that ending, I get why people rated it a 5 or 6.
10,000 BC (2008)
It's good for a drinking game
Disclaimer first: I do not dislike the movie because it was "ahistorical" but because the plot and acting were terrible.
However, if you have some basic knowledge of history, you can do a drinking game: Whenever you spot a severe mistake
