The Curse (2023)
Am I the only one
Who actually felt like my brain cells were starting to die as I was watching this? I guess that was dramatic. But I mean, personally, I just can't with this show. I don't understand how people are hyped giving this 9 starts all over.
I try not to judge a series or movie right off the bat, so I always watch at least the first & second episode (if not more) before judging it.
Which is what I did with this. And yet it didn't get any better, maybe worse. I was left feeling like I'd completely wasted my time on something that is almost ridiculous.
IMO, the main characters are quite boring & don't seem to have good chemistry together, the story is not remotely interesting, and I didn't find the humor to be funny. It's very slow paced,so I kept waiting for something to finally happen, or to jump out at me so I could understand what made it good, but it never did. It felt stale/ stiff, and aimless. Which made me really sad because I absolutely love Emma Stone.
So unless there's something that just went right over my head, then I'm lost as to how people are giving this such high ratings.
The Nevers (2021)
This show is amazing!! Wish they had a 2nd season coming!!
This show is such a beautifully crafted masterpiece that had me sucked in from start to
finish - leaving me wanting more!
This show is unique in many ways,
and has a different/new take
than most sci-if or fantasy
shows - in the best possible way.
I absolutely loved it! And really wish there was another season coming.
I really feel this could keep this story going a lot further following the season finale. Even though it brings it to a nice ending, it also leaves you questioning quite a few things,
I suppose that's probably just wishful thinking!
So if you're pondering whether
to watch it or not, definitely watch it!!
I promise you won't be disappointed!
V for Vendetta (2005)
One of the BEST movies
EVER. This movie took an epic stand against the corrupt government and so many things in such a phenomenal way. If I could give this 100 stars I would! I've watched this over and over, it willl forever be a top favorite of mine.
The first time I watched it, my mind was just blown in the absolute best way.
It's really quite rare that a movie or show can make me feel such deep intense emotions, and yet V for Vendetta makes you feel it all and that alone let's you know you've found a GREAT movie.
It portrays everything so perfectly, in such a deep profound way that so deeply right there deeply invested and you can understand wha they to start a revolution, they want anarchy,
and obviously revenge, and the story is just incredibly.
12 Monkeys (2015)
One of the BEST sci-fi shows of all time!
I admit when I first saw this show the title kind of threw me and I had no idea what it was about (honestly I thought it was like a kids show lol) but then one day I came stumbling across it again and decided what the heck so I started watching it, and omg!! I became sucked straight in and instantly obsessed, couldn't stop watching it!! I ended up binge watching every season straight through to the very end all at once and then felt so crushed when it was over!!
I can't believe I overlooked this the first time, but that's what happens when you judge a book by it's a cover, or in this case, a series. I really wish so badly they would have kept this series going!! This was seriously just SO GOOD!!
There hasn't been a show that's shocked & thrilled me like this for a very long! Sci-fi isn't that good it seems anymore, but occasionally you find a rare gem like this!
So 10 stars from me!
Absolutely loved it!! And If anyone's thinking of watching this, do it! I promise you won't regret it.
The Sandman (2022)
Mesmerizing & spellbinding and I didn't want this to ever end!
I was SO SO excited for this to come out! And I was NOT disappointed!! I absolutely loved this. Dream was played by the perfect actor. His voice all throughout is soft & dark yet whispy? Even when he gets angry or raises his tone- he still managed to hold this somehow? His entire demeanor the way he acts and moves is just like he is a dream, I think he portrayed him perfectly. All the other characters and actors did an amazing job too. The whole show I was memorized and glued to the screen and watched it from beginning to end nonstop. I'm so sad it's already over!!
To each their own- but I've read a lot of reviews on here giving this crap ratings saying it's awful ext and how they feel it ruined by making characters gender swap or having them be gay when they originally weren't? But it's a new time & era, I get what they're doing by incorporating LGBTQ into this & to me it doesn't ruin the story at all. I actually think they played perfectly off each one of the characters roles & personalities (like Desire!! And Death, and Lucifer!!) & I don't think they overdid it.
After We Fell (2021)
The 1st was great, 2nd was good, this was something else
I loved 'After' (the 1st of the 3 movies series).
If you haven't seen it, I suggest you watch 1 & 2 before this. It won't make much sense unless you're following the story, and the first two are drastically better.
As far as this movie goes... what was this?
I feel like nothing in this flowed together except for the actors, Hero Tiffin & Josephine Langford doing their thing because they're pretty much flawless.
This is not at all what I was expecting from an After sequel. It has taken a whole other direction and It wasn't done well imo. It's like the concept of the After series was being tossed back & forth and they were trying to decide how to mix in 50 shades of grey - with no idea what they're doing?
It was very slow, I kept waiting for it to get better, for the hook to pull me in but it didn't. There's too many gaps, things aren't explained & they fill it with sex. They overplayed the lust factor way to much for this movie. In the prior movies those scenes would have been filled with drama & passion. This felt empty almost, like there was barely any life & passion in the movie. When it did start to get intriguing, it's at the end. Go figure.
The Gifted (2017)
Such an awesome spin on mutants & x-men for a tv show!! KEEP IT GOING!!!
I love this show!! Ive always loved X-Men so I honestly had doubts about a TV show spin off.. BUT It did NOT disappoint! I watched season 1-2 strait through without a break.
I keep waiting for another season to come & still nothing! Which is surprising and I really hope they listen to the fans and bring it back for more !
Also, it would be AWESOME to see a show/movie on its own solely the legend of Fenris - they're pretty epic.
Birds of Paradise (2021)
This was an amazing movie!!
I was instantly sucked in and captivated every moment. The scenes in this are absolutely gorgeous also, ahh such a good job!!
The Neon Demon (2016)
Honestly, I love the twisted & strange.. but
This movie just couldn't do it for me. I kept waiting for this movie to get better & to finally hook me in and at a few parts I thought it finally was, but then it didn't, to me it just got worse. But the cinematography was beautiful for such an extremely disturbing movie.
As many others have said, it is NOT for the light hearted. I feel like it could have been so much more.
Like it was such a slow burn then left a bad taste in my mouth... haa.
Gossip Girl (2007)
Addictive & alluring
It's so good!! Full of drama- obviously I feel like that comes with the territory but it's different. The show is constantly sucking you in the entire time & strangely addictive to people who would never watch these kind of shows- example me, my bf at the time- and almost everyone else I've shown this show to haha. I bungled through the entire show and since then I've re-watched it at-least 4 more times!
Love and Monsters (2020)
Love and Monsters was awesome
Also the 1st of its kind to impress me in a while now. Most movies coming out these days are so blehh.. Especially when it comes to fantasy/ sci-fi. This was funny, has cool monsters, a good story line, and keeps you excited & wanting more rather than getting bored. I really hope they make a sequel!
American Satan (2017)
This movie is awesome, I don't get all the neg reviews
I feel like everyone who posted negative reviews missed the point of the movie. And the fact that Andy is in it! But- I'm pretty sure they're trying to make a point of how desperate most people are starting out in bands & if someone came along and dangled instant fame and success in front of them- what would they do to get it? Ect.
Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (2016)
Literal one of the best shows I've ever seen!!!
I never wanted this show to end!!! I'm still hoping they bring it back!!! This show is AMAZING!!!
Run (2020)
Could have been so much better & the ending is total crap.
This had good potential, and I honestly really liked the idea of the story- two ex's (the one love that got away), a simple text "RUN" to meet each other, drop everything and get on a train and leave together if the other replies.
Some parts of this were pretty good.
But, there are many things that I think could have been done better or differently that would have made this show way better. Including the ending, it was awful! And literally ruined the entire thing for me.
For most of this (Incredibly short show of just 7 episodes) i wasn't sure whether to be rooting for them, or how to even feel. I want to be because it's supposed to be two lost lovers coming back to each other, but their backgrounds, circumstance, even some of how the scripts go at parts made me question things .. even as they keep going together it's just like eghhh what..?
It's not until almost the end of the show that things start to get better & I really want them to make it together! Then one stupid thing happens and she leaves him and it's all over. That's it.
