Star Trek: Picard (2020)
It's kind of bad
First things first. There is nothing left of the Cpt. Picard that we fell in love with. Nothing. No cockyness, no smartness, no poetry, no humor. Picard is just another old man with a famous face and a sort of crew of outsiders. It was pretty sad to see what happened to Star Trek in the first season of Picard and the second season is doing nothing new. They could've done so much more with this series. Sadly it's just another bland 2020+ type series that is not able to suck you in nore is it able to surprise. Maybe it's just me but I've seen all of this before and I saw every twist coming from 10 miles away. So there it is. If the story is crap then not even the best actors can make it work. Sadly a lot of actors here are crap and a lot of the action is crap too. Some of the visuals are very nice but that's about it. Maybe instead of producing tons of half hearted movies and tv series it would be better if these studios turn it down a bit and just make one thing that is actualy amazing.
The Batman (2022)
Dark and bland
So the 1797201st reboot of Batman is a goth crime drama that's 3 hours long. None of the characters show emotion except the bad guys. It's all black and emo. Everything sucks. Everyone's miserable. Life in Gotham is a pain in the heart. Batman is working with the police to catch a bad guy like Columbo. This could easily be just a guy without the costume, it wouldn't make a difference. There is nothing spectacular about it. Batman is just a guy wearing black. And he's miserable. Duh. On the positive side, there is a lot of Batman and maybe 5min of Bruce Wayne. I liked that. But the movie is so slow and dark and boring that I prayed for it to be over soon. I thought DC dropped the whole Dark Universe thing?
Game of Thrones (2011)
Pretty but pretty overrated
It just feels like a less fantastic copy of Lord of the Rings. Costumes, characters and world creation are all well done and some of the actors are amazing but some of them are boring as hell and show next to no emotions or they have the character range of Chuck Norris and Steven Segal, especially some of the main characters. The stories are all build ups to mostly nothing at all or cheap payoffs. I don't understand why everybody loves it so much. It's like The Hobbit movies, it's just not that good.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Awesome movie, but...
This is the best Spider-Man movie so far but it has one big flaw in my opinion. There's only two fights in the whole movie. There's a lot of comedy and drama but it lacks some more action. The potential of this movie and what they could've done with all the characters coming together is insane but sadly they didn't go crazy with it. Also, it would've been nice to have one more vilain who wasn't featured in any of the other movies. Just for the hell of it. Sure, it would've been a bit of a character overload but so was Infinity Wars and it worked. However. Great acting, story, writing and "guests". Almost perfect.
Bound by Honor (1993)
One of my fav movies of all time!
I'm as far away from being a latino as Danny Trejo is Danish but every time I watch this movie i feel like I was born in East L. A. surrounded by Vatos Locos. I basically watch this movie once a year and it's probably my most re-watched movie of them all. I love the music and characters who are bit over the top at some points in the movie but that doesn't hurt the film at all. I also like how everything builds up just to fall apart and then come together at the end. My only wish is that the movie would be even longer with more focus on the stories outside of prison but other than that I think that this is a perfect movie. Sometimes you just have the perfect cast with the perfect production. I could watch this all day.
Band of Brothers (2001)
Simply one of the best!
There's not much else to say but.. go watch it!!! It's one of the best, if not THE best, mini series of all time. Actors are perfect, writing is perfect, cinematography is perfect (a bit shaky some times), also the mood, the action, the drama, the humor and music is perfect. It's just an epic tribute to all the heros of WWII. Salute!
Killing Eve (2018)
Good acting. Very bad writing.
If you look at it as a cartoonish feminist/lesbian crime tv series about a (supposed to be pro) killer and a (supposed to be pro) agent then you might be entertained. However, if you like a bit of logic then you won't find it here. Actors are mostly good but the writing is unoriginal and mostly doesn't make any sense. Everything seems to just happen so Vilainelle can have another crazy murder moment. And what kind of name is Vilainelle??? I mean c'mon. 😂
