In a Violent Nature (2024)

Very random and basic slasher, but artistic and different camera angles

If you like slashers like Halloween Kills, you will probably like this, it was very quiet but graphic and bloody, the killers mask was funny looking, should've stayed unmasked, but slashers do need their masks...The story was basic and honestly i would've loved more story and characters dialog. It is a point of view but only like 60 percent is point of view, we do get the traditional cinema camera angles and movements here and there. Overall it's a must see for horror fans, and very graphic, my audience loved it. But honestly would work better as a slasher movie without the point of view and with the traditional scary music we are used to...because the scene where the killer literally spends 5 minutes dragging a unconscious dude around, prepping him up for a wood chopping machine, and then chopping the dead dude up with the machine was very loud, slow, boring and irritating!!! We do not need to watch a slasher drag, prep, and then chop up an unconscious dead guy while a very, VERY loud machine motor runs on and on!! The rest of the kills were amazing though...I do want a friday the 13th movie now...The gore was great but Terrifier 2 and Hatchet remain at the top tier GORE....

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)

WHAT DUNE 2 TRIED TO BE....OR MAYBE FURIOSA IS JUST THAT GREAT LOL

I was hoping dune 2 wouldn't be boring but it was pretty draggy in some parts, whereas Furiosa is Sick, awesome, bloody and EPIC...never boring...the trailer and promotion made it seem passable and cliche, but oh my gosh This film was great! Too good for it's own! Fury road was awesome, but i love this film! It came off as a Fury Road and 300 mashup! The visuals are very out of this world and every shot is just nurtured into greatness just like 300, although furiosa has much better greenscreen and special fx...This film was just great. I had no idea it would be this good, not a dull moment, and some horror elements are definitely seen here. If you thought FURIOSA would be boring and weak, like I mistakenly did, then you are WRONG...must see, will probably be remembered just as much as Fury Road is! Summer blockbuster and an INSTANT CLASSIC.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)

A very random bland remake of the 2008 film

I have to repost my review because it was deleted for being negative?? Oh well . The movie was very bland and not as scary as the original strangers. This film needed to be straight to streaming and not a theatricaI reIease. I didn't have fun at aII. And wanted it to just end...the opening was basic, the ending was a basic cliff hanger...overall, it was the most tame, basic R rated home invasion film ever. The purge was better than this and the Original strangers was way better and scarier. Not sure where this is headed! My best guest is, a revenge chapter 2 or another rehash of chapter 1! Save your time.

Civil War (2024)

Interesting, boring, interesting, boring, interesting the END

I understood the movie and concept, but it was very underwhelming and quiet...I was expecting it to be more action packed and more story, I was waiting for it to be over. It was way too predictable and just not that interesting. Can we just get the 28 Weeks later sequel? The trailers to this film made it seem like a masterpiece, what i felt was a Mediocre Docudrama with very predictable characters. Every scene was predictable and just flew by. The movie just didn't excite me at all. The best description of this movie is, THE PURGE MOVIE, WITHOUT ANY PURGING...Seriously it was exactly like one of those Purge movies from blumhouse without killing...I can't believe I thought this was going to be actually enjoyable. Even the ending just felt ridiculous and predictable. I understand it, but just didn't care for it at all. Bring on the zombie movie already.

The First Omen (2024)

This was much better than Immaculate, set in Rome Italy 1970s... It has Italian horror. The Italian soundtracks are awesome. Reminiscence of Giallo and 70s Italian horror classics. After the demon birth scene two women walked out, it reminded me of the 1981 film 'Possession' and JACOBS LADDER in certain scenes...this is a gross out, nerve wrecking horror film not for the faint of heart...I can understand why anyone would walk out of this...Even I can handle all horror films like Terrifier 2, Conjuring, Sinister, but this type of horror is just super affective...It's not fun and playful like Annabelle Creation...the folks that walked out the cinema were definitely expecting it to be like the typical Blumhouse films like The Nun and Annabelle...It's is just a very scary and well made Horror/Drama film! Much better than the 2006 remake, I can definitely see the IMDB reviews being over 1000+ responses and with over 100k ratings left by users...DO NOT SEE IMMACULATE...PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE FIRST OMEN...THIS WAS AN INSANE RIDE AND I'M GLAD I MADE IT OUT THE THEATER...TRUE HORROR...Made me jump, squeal and just ruined my night...but hey, that's what Horror is supposed to do! If you can handle it, go see it. 2 HOURS OF PURE HORROR...I was looking for a horror film to test me, and I found it. I'm going to go take hot shower now.

Late Night with the Devil (2023)

Exorcist, Blair witch project, Truman show and SCANNERS...rolled into one ride!

After sitting through Immaculate, Night swim, Imaginary, i finally enjoyed this horror film! It's on the short side but manages to have shades of Exorcist, blair witch, truman show, and SCANNERS...you will know what i mean if you watch it...this movie needs the wide release, no more blumhouse trash...SHUDDER, YOU GUYS ARE GETTING BETTER AND BETTER...I USED TO HATE SHUDDER MOVIES...THIS ONE IS SPECIAL AND WAS PRETTY INSANE...I left Immaculate feeling bored, then went into Late Night With The Devil excited...this film is worth a rewatch...i will never watch Night Swim again in my life but i will definitely rewatch this...HORROR FANS THIS IS ONE YOU SHOULD ENJOY.... Not the Blumhouse trash.

Immaculate (2024)

Pretty big let down...pretty boring, not exciting

I only saw the movie because the commercials hyped it up...but this was a shallow horror flick...the last 20 minutes were cool but the rest of the movie was pretty mediocre...Literally nothing happens. Everyone should just go see Late Night With The Devil....much better horror experience

If you blink the movie is over....i swear nothing ignited my mind during this movie except the ending...the ending was intense. But i just feel misled. The trailer is like The Bruno Mattei film The Other Hell from 1981 but it's nothing like it...I know The First Omen will definitely be much better than this mess. I can't even recommend it to anyone.... Usually R rated horror films do me justice, this did nothing at all. Shocking it made it to theaters...Night Swim and Imaginary were pretty bad and this was more of the same. Very predictable. Could've came out in 2005 and wouldn't be able to tell! If you're bored, give it a shot.

Imaginary (2024)

I hateeedd Night Swim but actually enjoyed this one!

First off, Night Swim has to be the worst horror film on earth, so I went into this film with caution...and it turned out to be good, I loathe PG13 Horror films so much, but this one was awesome. Insidious is the scariest PG13 film i ever saw, this film is in the realm of Insidious but also Annabelle and a bit of Elm Street...also the Imaginary World reminded me of Labyrinth...(the stairs) and i honestly jumped a couple times...the monsters looked very good as well...I'm not sure why Night Swim had so much hyped but a film like Imaginary has no hype...It's not the best horror ever but good for a late night PG13 Horror. I would watch this again and will literally never watch Night Swim again...I suggest to see this film if you want a decent scare...this film actually did have some Imagination to it unlike Night Swim...Blumhouse, you need to market this movie more!

Poor Things (2023)

Not a great movie at all, decent acting and amazing cinematography

I thought the movie would be awesome like The Lighthouse or something like Babylon...Instead it was like a weird, hybrid mixture of Harmony Korine and Larry Clark doing a Hollywood film set in the 19th Century...which wouldn't suit them...there was way too much sexual scenes and not enough violence...but I was just looking for an amazing, creepy film... the first 30 minutes of this film were awesome and mysterious, then the last 2 hours all we got was a Victorian England Comedy P0RN0...Now, a huge positive was that I loved the end credits! I haven't seen end credits that great since Pearl. It was beautiful...But overall this film might be in someone's taste of films, but not mine...I'm sure somebody has been waiting for this type of mess for sometime, and I'm sure that person is a WElRD0...I like my films weird, but this was just ridiculous and annoying. Hollywood just never ceases to make messes like this...like I said, I'd rather watch Babylon, Pulp Fiction, or The Lighthouse...etc.... Will never watch this mess again. But hey, if you want to watch it, have at it...it's a Victorian England Comedy P0RN0...

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)

Just watched it for a fourth time. Tarantino-cut your heart out!

Just an awesome film...Vince Vaughn transforms into a monster just to save his Unborn child and the mother...The movie starts off slow, then just gets better and better...Vince Vaughn breaks bones and the punches look authentic and hurtful...The violence is a character in itself, It's not exactly overly violent, it's just realistic and satisfying...I think this is the type of movie Rob Zombie thinks he makes...and I love rob zombie but this type of film just makes me wanna contact the writer and directors and work with them! Sigh...hopefully one day...someone needs to give these the budget and credit they deserve. Bone Tomahawk was also solid, but this is just a perfect film...slightly grindhouse, slightly John Wick, and most of all, CINEMA at it's finest...VINCE VAUGHN! JESUS CHRIST YOU WERE AMAZING...If I was trapped on an Isalnd, this is definitely in my top 10 films of all time.

Night Swim (2024)

Ahh...THIS REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF THE FILM 'Monstrous' from 2022

Very bland horror, not invested at all...if you saw the movie Monstrous, you definitely will be reminded of that film...where someone in the family gets possessed, and then the creature tries to take over the kids...sigh...It could've been good but it's so obvious that this film is just a rushed mess...the pool wasn't scary at all. The last movie with based around water to scare me was Open Water...and that films Budget was super low. Blumhouse needs to figure out how to save there films because M3GAN ain't gonna cut it and they will probably never do another Halloween film during their run...Also, there wasn't any death or gore...just boring...Insidious is PG13, has no gore, and those films are actually scary and worth watching...

The Iron Claw (2023)

Good film! And wrestling film at that... Just expected more depth and information

This film played out almost as if they expected everyone to know the true story, but me, i never looked into it, so many scenes cut to the next scene leaving you wondering what EXACTLY led to the next scene and the consequences. This could literally be Part 2 of That Mickey Rourke Wrestler film...it's drama, depressing, but not much wrestling action...but the story itself is more important than just watching wrestling matches...but the matches in this movie didn't spark nothing in me...up until the final wrestling match with Ric Flair...that was amazing, and all the matches seemed like they were under 1 minute...but who cares...the bigger picture is the story and impact...and by the end, i cried for about 30 seconds, had tears, but honestly i will probably understand the story more if i watch a 30 minute epsiode on the family...or a 1 hour documentary...but this was a mature A24 film, and extremely well done! It's like Rocky Balboa, but more tragic and it's actually a TRUE story. Overall? Perfectly excellent film! 8/10...I haven't seen a really good film in theaters in a while... I needed this one. Definition of Cinema.

Thanksgiving (I) (2023)

Slightly like Terrifier and Halloween Kills. Pretty good. And technically better than the 2011 'Hobo With a Shotgun' film.

The original trailer was very raw, this film was polished like Scream 6, and its the same production company, but it was still very fun! If you're an older person, just IGNORE the loud rap song that is played 5 minutes into the film...that is a popular rap song and it is for the Teenage crowd fan service...now back to my review! The killer's mask was pretty weak, but the kills were fun and sneaky! The opening was so damn good. I liked this film better than Saw X and Five Nights at freddys...My theater was moaning and laughing at the right parts. When someone got beheaded, the entire theater erupted with "OOOOOOhhhh" And that made me a bit uncomfy, lol...Also, if you like Hobo With A Shotgun, it's not as nasty or vile as that film, but it is technically better than The Hobo with a Shotgun film we got in 2011! Also, Thanksgiving 2023 is not exactly like the grindhouse trailer...But it is fresh and I'm just glad we finally got the full length film! So if you want a new slasher, you should definitely watch this, it had my poor mom jumping and frightened...Also, Some people started arguing and ruined the film for us. Lol they even started cussing...oh well I'll wait for it to go to streaming to refresh my memory. Overall as a Hollywood Cinematic Standard? Its a 6.5/10 ...as a Horror Slasher? A high 8.9/10 SCORE.

I don't stick around for netflix original films but man...HULU has some amazing original horror. It's almost as if HULU is meant for Original and Awesome Horror films...Hellraiser 2022, Fresh, Predator, and NOW THIS ORIGINAL PIECE...Wow, I was expecting to be bored by PG13 crap...but they did some pretty sick and nasty stuff in this film! Totally surprised. Don't worry about a story, just look for the reasons and SIGNS stuff happens...I would say it's about as good as Jordan Peeles 'NOPE'...think of the film Signs mixed with Nope and The Strangers...i like it, while others LOVE it..so make your own opinion and check it out. Can't go wrong!

Scream VI (2023)

So much better than Part 5, as great as Part 4! Way better than Halloween Ends!

Part 5 felt very forced and generic, this one felt like they actually did something more original. Even though the formula and recipe is the same as part 5, its done sooo much better here. Not really impressed with ghostface, but the kills and story are better than part 5. I don't think a part 7 would be any better than this...unless they do something totally insane and smart. Also this was SO MUCH better than Halloween Ends. I never thought I'd say that. But in every way it was better. SCREAM 6 is very rewatchable. Congrats to their team for actually pulling off a Part 6 and being better than part 5.

The Whale (2022)

Depressing but if you watched My 600 Pound life on TLC, it's no different!

I feel like if they marketed this movie as my 600 Pound life: but as a R Rated gritty film, this is the movie you would get. So why did they call it whale and make it biblical and poetic? Not sure, but it's still just as gritty...I thought Brendan Fraser was overhyped during the entire promotion run for The Whale...but honestly, he does need an oscar for this, he pulled it off just like the obese people on Reality tv show, My 600 Pound Life. The sad thing is, that show is REAL and this is fictional...Those people are actually bigger than Fraser here, and they can hardly walk...So if anything, the tv show my 600 pound life should be more depressing to watch, but we actually laugh at it...but we cry at this fictional film of a guy in a fat suit...This was still a great film. Without context or not.

This film tries to trick you as art...Mandy (2018) with Nicholas Cage did the same thing in a way, except that film actually goes SOMEWHERE.... THE PICTURE IS MOVING...THERE'S PAYOFF...I also think they were trying to do something similar to Begotten from 1990...or Eraserhead. All those movies actually move and are creepy...this film TRICKED ME. It's awful. I feel like this is how blind people and deaf people experience movies...the angles are off, the image is dark, whats the big deal? I could've made this film on my old flip phone camera from 2008. As a matter of fact...i think this is a film shot on flip phone from 2008. DONT BE FOOLED. ITS BAD AND NOTHING HAPPENS. Zero action. Zero payoff. Zero characters. This is not a MOVIE! Eraserhead, begotten, those are much better films to check out...I pray no one ever normalizes the type of boring filmmaking that this film is...idc if you think it's psychological ir creepy. It's boring to me. 1 hour of film to sit through for half a second of a couple jumpscares... Not worth anything!

Pearl (2022)

Slightly boring, Felt like a Stage Play and Wizard of Oz cheaply done. Sort of like MISERY, and X, but not as good.

The setting was nice, but it wasn't used good at all. The period piece of 1918? It looks very cheap! Never do a period piece with this budget again! You had like 5 Ford Cars from 1915 and the town was clearly a stage. The girl Mia Goth is a good actor, but good acting isn't being able to talk crazy for 5 minutes🤣 the good acting is at the end credits! When Mia smiles and cries for 2 minutes straight. That was awesome! But Mia goth should be a damn Lawyer and not a dancing Star🤣 She is amazing but I watched MISERY last week and that film was so much better. I'll give it a positive though because this film was better than alot of Horror films from this year. I was harsh on X at first...But now I appreciate X alot more since it was pretty straightforward. This film and the 1918 period setting was just wonky. I'm sure Maxxxine will be the best out of the 3 films...this is the worst. Good acting, but that's all it is...it's Mia Goth talking crazy the entire film and i understand it. Toni Colette in Hereditary did the same thing!!! I respect the craft, but it was boring. Maxxxine should be much better...this was too much talking and way different from X, obviously...

Terrifier 2 (2022)

There's bloody films like Dead Alive and Evil Dead...then Hatchet...then there's this brutal, face mushing, torture dark web Horror mess.

This film was nothing but gore. But i still enjoyed this more than HALLOWEEN ENDS.... How they managed to make this film past 2 hours? I have no idea. I would compare this to Hatchet 2 or 3, where as the killer just doesn't stop mushing your damn face in...this man is literally breaking faces. If it wasn't a little comical with the goofy Mime clown, it wouldn't be so fun...like the House that Jack built, if you watch that movie and Terrifier 2, it makes you feel dirty! Like you just murdered a person youself. Not really my cup of tea, but i can respect the limits they pushed...This obviously aint as good as the Exorcist or Halloween.... But it's just a brutal, mean, dirty, hardcore blood bath. Definitely beats out Hostel in the gore aspect, but idk if it beats Hachet 2 & 3 or The House That Jack Built...But mannn, some scenes felt like a Snuff film since the quality and budget was a little low. Very effective. The story though? 6/10 Blood and Gore? 15/10 and Way better than Terrifier Part 1.

Michael Myers is the Mr. Miyagi of killing! How is this the END? It's all about Corey. Corey. Corey. And Alison. Very WEIRD. No wonder the special fx artist Chris Nelson got in trouble for calling it weird. HE WAS RIGHT. Michael Myers is WEAK. THEY DID WHAT THE MCU DID TO THE HULK. MADE HIM WEAK AND A JOKE. Since when does Michael need help? This was a first! And a bad first at that! I wouldn't mind this film as a sequel maybe...BUT THE END? You ended it Badly. As soon as Michael showed signs of Mercy, HE STOPPED BEING SCARY. Michael is like a Father figure now...Mr. Miyagi of Killing! I'm not even obsessed with Michael and can taim myself, but wow. It's like they didn't know what to do. You didnt end it. You added MORE STORY EXTENTIONS THAN EVER BEFORE! The entire town is ridiculous, everybody hates eachother and coincidentally runs into eachother everyday. COREY WAS NOT SCARY OR INTERESTING. Just Jeffrey Dahmer tag teaming with Michael Myers. Or Natural born killers rip off. Very basic slasher if you think about it. There's no mystery. Just wonder why we didn't actually spend time with Michael and Laurie. Definitely didn't feel like a Halloween film. RIDICULOUS. Needed more Michael Myers and Laurie and LINDSAY WALLACE??

Hellraiser (2022)

Much Better than Prey and The Night House

This film was 2 hours and that's gotta be the longest Hellraiser film. The runtime gives you an actual STORY! The last films were very bad and made no sense....this had an adventure and good creepy moments! But it wasn't very dirty like the 1987 original, it was polished and clean. I think Doctor Sleep was a bit better than this. Both films are Fantastical and Other Worldly. The only thing lacking was the scares, and the voice of Pinhead...Pinhead sounded like a Star Wars villain but didn't come off too bad...HULU makes good horror films apparently! Not sure if it would've did good in theaters but i didn't think NO HELLRAISER film would come out this good! Much better than PREY! And The Night House! This was FRESH.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)

This movie is from the same company that did Jepeers creepes 3, Screen Media, and I'm pretty sure Jeepers Creepers is their BIGGEST property and cash grab...I wonder what other films they have made? You should look up Screen Media movies! I also saw HellFest, any film revolving around Horror cons or Horror Circuses, automatic REDFLAG! Horror cons in a horror movie is very cringey! The Creeper was scary, but that's because Victor Salva created it! Jeepers Creepers is his Spirit Animal, he wishes he could swoop up teens as easy as THE CREEPER! The movie was bad, but the creeper will STILL give me nightmares tonight...That Whistle thing he did is the creepiest thing he has done on screen...It was loud and unsettling. Whistle from HELL...that was the only scary part. I'm surprised I passed the 600 mark...ridiculous.

Blonde (2022)

Decent film, but not fleshed out enough. All over the place

Watching this felt like i was watching a art piece or a collage of events...They definitely tried to do a Uncut Gems type of film, even the music might be from Uncut Gems! But I wanted to watch a complete movie, this felt like some strange A24 adaption. It would've been better off as a movie under 2 hours or something more like Mommie Dearest. It had a Wolf Of Wallstreet sleaze to it, but that film is MUCH BETTER...While in this film, the actors were good, but the editing and pacing is just not for me. Just like Elvis, the movie is dazzling but a bit too much over the top. Marylin Monroe is with all these different men the entire film and there's no story thread. I'm not knowledgeable on her history, but I'm sure there were some good moments in her life? She has probably been to some amazing movie premieres in her lifetime!!! This is like a Tarantino or Lars Von Trier film, but bland and messy with meaningless long takes and dialog. But overall it's fine I guess. It's also Shockingly offensive, and i love me some offensive, brutal, over the top films, but this is Marylin Monroe we are talking about here...The arthouse crap didn't work! Just like in the film Mandy, the longshots are awful! If you want GOOD ART, check out the Lighthouse, or Suspiria 2018. This was just too messy! Some sick weirdo might really love this film, but It just made me feel drained...

The Munsters (2022)

Super bland, It plays out like all of Zombies other films except this time its Rated PG...

There was no story thread at all, it was super bland. It felt like a collage of Cosplay videos, no real heart was put into it. It is PG but it plays out like all the other Rob Zombie films, he closes out the film with a Cheap Halloween festival, just like 3 from Hell, the devil's rejects, and Halloween 2, it's like Rob Zombie can't do a story so he has to do some cheap Halloween party outtakes out of nowhere at the end of all his films! Even though it is PG13, It ends like all of Rob Zombies other films, with the cheap Halloween Bash. I really thought I was watching something from 2005. This is the worst Zombie film, I think his other films are good compared to this Cartoon mess. Has some nice costumes and nice sets, THAT'S ALL.

Fall (I) (2022)

WAY BETTER THAN THE CRAP TRAILER. YES!

The trailer made me think it would be a shudder original, No! It's Rated R but the cursing language was obviously cut for the PG13. This film scared me, and wasn't boring at all. I expected a CGI mess, but it blended so well and the tower looks great!

It's like JAWS with no Shark just the vultures and the Fear of heights pulls at your heart! I watch hardcore horror, blood and guts etc. But this was right up my alley by how scary and intense it became... Reminded me of The Descent during the night-time scenes...TOO CREEPY! Some decisions were very dumb but the film itself? VERY SCARY
