Please Stand By (2017)
Going to make you smile
I enjoyed it and had a smile on my face throughout. Even in the tough moments you know it will work out because it's that kind of film and that's okay. Fanning is especially good and highly believable as being Autistic and a Trekkie. If you want a sunshiney movie, this is a good one.
I Care a Lot (2020)
Such a hollow movie
Well acted, yes but that's about it. The main problem I had was with the mafia aspect. Surely they would be better organised than this? It's great that they were beaten by two women but they are vile women. I've read that this is meant to have been a feminist piece but I think it's the opposite. It shows that to be a strong woman, you need to completely eradicate all men from your life, prey on those weaker than you and be completely hollow inside. Or is that what the writer thought would equate to a strong man? At least the mafia boss showed he had some feelings towards his mom. Marla may like her girlfriend but wasn't she just using her and her cop connections? And how convenient to be able to know so many shady people. There's got to be better movies than this.
Downton Abbey (2019)
Far too Royalist
I was a fan of the show but the movie was just too royalist for me. By the end I felt like I might get into trouble for thinking otherwise. Also, everything is just so sweet and ends so well which I suppose they expected most of the fans would've wanted but for a film, not so much.

What did you think of the movie?
It's incredibly fun to watch especially the first hour because of the fashion, soundtrack and two Emmas. Emma Stone's accent is a bit fake-British but that's a small thing. However, what brings the film down is the plot, or lack there of. It's like they just kept doing the same scenes but changed the costumes. And, without any spoilers, there's a seriously huge difference between this Cruella and the Cruella of the future when it comes to dogs. If there's a second film then I'd be interested to see how they link the two and still keep it child-friendly.
