To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)
At least it was better than the second movie ...that was a disaster
The first one was hands down the best, was not cringey and did not make me think it was cliche like most Netflix movies. Second was awful and undid everything the first did, was way too fast for any of her romances and just made her seem dumb. Now the third movie, it was better than I expected but I felt like it was sort of unresolved. He gets all upset because you want to attend a university that fits you? Sounds like a major red flag to me. Then he doesn't even want to give it a try but somehow makes it seem like he's madly in love with you and wins you back so easily? I don't know I found some parts cringe but it did a better job than the second. I think 5/10 is being pretty generous. I do like that LJ was consistent on who was her friend etc and not erasing what had been done. I also liked how they brought back the Lauv song. I wished we got some context as to what happened to Josh, her childhood best friend from the first movie... like what he was her neighbour too. I also want to know where John Ambrose is. It just feels like they brush off characters so easily. Oh whoever was in charge of the costumes did an awful job. Dressed LJ like a toddler in some scenes and her prom dress was awful!
Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018)
what is this?
This movie was honestly terrible and sets such a bad example. First off, she lies to a guy and then kisses him while telling him to keep his eyes closed? Uh is consent not a thing? Is catfishing okay now? Then she throws her friend under the bus to make herself feel better. Was I meant to feel bad for her and still root for her when she became the bully? And then somehow still gets the guy? You know when guys say they're nice guys but they're actually not? That's her except she's a female ofc. Basically she's a terrible person that didn't deserve the guy because she's vindictive and deceitful.
The Last Kingdom (2015)
underrated
This is such an underrated show. No one is talking about it or knows it exists. I binged two seasons in two days... worth the lack of sleep! I would have binged the other two seasons if it weren't for assignments and exams.
Uhtred is very likeable. He can be hot-headed at times but he always has his reasons and is absolutely brilliant. Love the actor! The rest of the cast is great too!
This has to be one of my top 5 favourite shows.
To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020)
Horrible sequel
This sequel was extremely hyped up and poorly executed. Within the first 5 minutes LJ says some corny nonsense that you would find on wattpad. Somewhere along the lines of being a good gf and then turning into a cringy and annoying one throughout the movie. The film also felt very rushed and had no sort of explanation for the emotions the characters felt for one another. One minute she's head-over-heels for Peter and promising not to break his heart and then the next she's hiding that she has a bf to a guy she hasn't seen in years and gets all flirty and dumb? The script was just ...sad. Had high hopes for this since I enjoyed the first movie. Netflix just keeps on making hot garbage teen movies that get worse each time.
