I really don't get the positive reviews, did I see a different movie?
30 November 2023
The aerial sequences in the movie are undeniably impressive, showcasing incredible flying scenes. However, apart from these thrilling moments, the rest of the film falls short. Ed Harris has only a brief appearance, more of a cameo than a substantial role. Val Kilmer's scene is cringe-worthy, and Jennifer Connelly's character feels like a half-hearted love interest that the film could have done without. It's unclear if she's meant to fill the Kelly McGillis role from the original movie, given the similarities in her house and car.

The plot revolves around a mission that is so implausible it makes the entire movie seem somewhat absurd. The new cast of pilots lacks the depth and charm of the original, with characters that feel flat and uninteresting. Tom Cruise's performance as Maverick, still haunted by his buddy Goose's death after 35 years, seems a bit overplayed. Jon Hamm, typically a likable actor, appears uncomfortable as Maverick's strict commander.

There's a beach football scene intended to echo the iconic volleyball scene from the first movie, but it comes across as forced. Despite these criticisms, the flying scenes, which make up around 15% of the total runtime, are incredibly well-executed. It's evident that the actors were in the planes for at least some of the shots, and the minimal use of CGI is commendable. However, when these scenes are removed, what remains is a movie that falls short of expectations.

Ferry: The Series (2023– )
6/10
Disappointing ...
5 November 2023
In my humble opinion, 'Ferry the Series' has left me somewhat underwhelmed, and I occasionally find myself feeling bored while watching it. The quality of acting is certainly commendable, but the overall execution falls short of my expectations.

One of my primary reservations about the series is the lack of depth in exploring Ferry's backstory. I had hoped for a more profound dive into his life, particularly his early experiences and the events that shaped his character. Instead, the storyline felt all too familiar, resembling that of the original 'Undercover' series. This lack of innovation and differentiation from the parent series left me somewhat disheartened.

The storytelling, in my opinion, lacks the compelling elements that draw viewers in and keep them engaged. It's as if the plot follows a formulaic pattern, making it predictable and less exciting. The absence of unexpected twists and turns further contributes to the feeling of disappointment. I had anticipated a more intricate narrative that would not only shed light on Ferry's character but also present a unique and captivating plot line.

As I continue to watch the series, I find moments of boredom creeping in. This is not to say that there aren't moments of intensity and drama, but the overall pacing and execution sometimes fail to maintain my interest. It's as if the series has fallen into a pattern of predictability, and this repetition can be a drawback for viewers seeking fresh and engaging content.

Moreover, I can't help but feel that 'Ferry the Series' may have exhausted the potential of its storyline. It seems like the creators might have stretched the narrative to its limits, and I'm left wondering if there's much more to explore in this world. It's essential for a series to evolve and introduce new elements to keep its audience engaged, and 'Ferry' might have reached a point where it's challenging to introduce such novelty.

In summary, 'Ferry the Series' appears to have garnered mixed reviews, and I find myself among those who were left wanting more. The series boasts commendable acting and occasional moments of intensity, but it falls short in terms of innovation and a compelling narrative. I had hoped for a deeper exploration of Ferry's character and a more distinct storyline. As it stands, the series feels somewhat derivative of the original 'Undercover' and could benefit from injecting new life into the narrative to keep viewers excited. It remains to be seen whether the creators will take a more ambitious approach in future seasons, but for now, I'm cautiously optimistic about the direction of the series.

Liitle bit disappointing
29 October 2023
"Can You Feel It - How Dance Music Conquered the World" is an interesting series that delves into the origins of house music. I particularly found the first two episodes to be engaging and informative. However, I couldn't help but notice the absence of many key figures who played a crucial role in shaping this history. Instead, the series featured individuals like Steve Aoki or David Guetta, who, while commercially successful, may not be as relevant to the core narrative. This feels like a missed opportunity, as there's a significant chapter and dept missing from the story. Hence, my lower rating.

Nothing original, or new.....
7 August 2022
To be honest I didn't have high expectations, and these were completely fulfilled.

The story is not very original, cliché and predictable... Starting to get a bit annoying now, the American navy seal/soldier hero stories.

By now we already know that Americans are really brave, and love violence and their weapons....

DC soap ...

Boring, lame soap drama with people in action hero costumes ... Oh, the acting is also nothing to write home about.
