Gran Turismo (2023)
Dull and formulaic
Pretty wooden acting. Not very convincing stories about racing, even in the attempts at deep and meaning scenes.
It is harmless fun, but predictable throughout.

How to Be Behzinga (2020)
It's OK
Generally a good story. He is a bit of a spoiled kid. Whingeing about Covid, while other people are actually grieving. Fair play to him for turning fat into fit. Hopefully people will follow his lead. Too many addicted to video games and don't use the greatest gift - a healthy body.

God's Country (2022)
A well told story
While I do not agree with all the political views held up here, that does not take away from good storytelling. I don't think killing animals for meat is bad, and I don't think there is anything wrong with choosing the best people for the job, although, sure, people from different backgrounds do sometimes think differently.
This is a story told in real time, which is such a good break from overedited crap, with unbelievable plots and fireworks. It's an underdog story really, except that we know she is capable of looking after herself.
Really enjoyed the church scene. Shows how we don't know what we think we do about each other and how a good distraction can elevate us from raw emotion.
Take a break from the franchises, superheroes and reboots - enjoy this movie.
The Fool (2018)
Jesus liked a laugh
And so do I. Fed up with silly ratings based on hatred of Jesus and not the content of the production.
Ray cares about people. I hope people find Jesus through this and his other content.
Life is simple and less painful with Jesus at the wheel. No guarantees that life will never sour, but there is always hope. Just as Ray's humiliation was used for good, so can yours.
You are worth something.
News of the World (2020)
Lovely family film
Good casting, Tom Hanks is always a good bet, obviously and young Helena Zengel is clearly destined for greatness. What a well rounded, happy little tale. Enjoyed this one the whole way through. Come on Hollywood! Clearly you can make wholesome family entertainment like this, without the sex and gratuitous violence so often shown.
The Joe Rogan Experience (2009)
Better than the norm
Most media is dull and by formula. This is just so massively different.
One thing struck me when I was listening to him talk to Kanye West. My friend said that KW is an idiot and I asked why, he mentioned a couple of things. I wasn't sure about KW either but after listening to him for almost 3 hours I really got a feeling for how creative and motivated for change he is. For example, instead of arguing against abortion, he says, first of all let's make child care, orphanages and adoption amazing alternatives.
This is just one example of how I changed my opinion on someone or something. If you are truly open-minded this show will move you on and help you be creative.
The Hunt (2020)
This is not a political movie
Initially I thought this would just rail on right wing, conservatives... It's not so clear cut.
As you would expect, there are some twists and turns. Gilpin and Swank are excellent in their roles.
So rare to see something that surprises.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005)
One of the few naturally funny shows
Well paced and funny. Believable enough plots to avoid being ridiculous, yet interesting and creative as to hold your attention.
A good mix up of characters and a solid idea of friends battling to keep a small business going against the odds.
