The Stranger (2022)
Cliches patched together
You've got to be a genius of a director, having Joel Edgerton and Sean Harris in your cast, and still stuff it up so badly. Cliche scene after cliche scene, inappropriate music... I have struggled good 50 minutes with this pretentious Frankenstein without having a single clue where we are going with it, not enjoying anything on the screen... it might have something in the end, I hope there is a story... though feel sorry for the author... but having lost an hour of my life already I am not even interested anymore....
Oh my God what a torture... 52 characters left... now less.... why do you need it? Have you heard of laconic????
Game of Thrones (2011)
Good storyline but too much of soft porn
One of the best historical dramas around, fictional history of course, but excessive and totally unnecessary amount of sex scenes, take away rather than add anything.
Yep, you have to get your kids not only out of the room, but out of the house.
Outer Range (2022)
The hole keeps it going
If someone would tell me what that hole is or does, I would stop watching this show in an instant. Nothing else makes any sense in it.
A waste of Josh Brolin talent.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Illogical
A military lady boarded a military plane carrying a package. Her papers were in order.
The crew was for some reason, retarded.
They were unreasonably hostile and abusive.
There was also a gremlin on the plane.
And there was a baby in the package.
Then they lost the baby.... actually gremlin took the baby....
And music, aweful, non fit music through everything...
Just intolerable...
House of Gucci (2021)
I didn't learn much
I don't care much about the house of Gucci.
But as 99% of other viewers I wanted to be entertained, wanted to tickle my emotions... maybe curiosity. I can tell you that not much got tickled. It was like I've seen it all before, only better version of it. The good acting carried it out to the level of decent watch but omg it's flat.
I care less about gucci than I did before watching the movie.
Newton's Cradle (2021)
Great acting but poorly made
Couldn't make it past episode 8 unfortunately...
Great acting from the main character Hana, however very poor directing.
Hana, - "I want to see my baby!"
Doctor, - "give her another dosage.."
Really? How much sense do you think it makes?
Unless she got herself into a sadist nest, that line doesn't make any sense.
Absolutely awefull script and directing.
Unintelligent. Dumb.
However, the acting from Mona Zaki is absolutely fabulous. Such a talent.
Deserves better director though.
WWII in Color: Road to Victory (2021)
Biased
How did they manage not to say a word about Russian side while presenting battle of Kursk, is a little miracle. Apparently British played a crucial role in that victory over Nazis.
All you had to do was to pick scrape paper from the floor of British intelligence and pass over to Russians. That was sufficient to win battle of Kursk. Ah yes, and Hitler was sick. And Panthers didn't work.
Russians didn't really play any role at all.
Most Dangerous Game (2020)
Very poor directing
The storyline is so used up... kinda getting boring.
Poor scenes constructive, not believable, often naive.
The acting is good, but what can you do with poor script.
BAM, Bâtisseurs de l'Ancien Monde (2020)
Could be great with better narrator
I love this topic and was so keen to watch it.
But the narration is unbearable.
It is so obvious the the narrator has no comprehension what she's talking about.
Monotonous, dull, such a pity that the work of so many people is ruined this way.
Maid (2021)
Brilliant
Highlight of the year.
Solid storyline empowered by brilliant acting and fine directing. Not overdone, not underdone, just spot on. All sides of human relationship in their subtlety and unpredictability are shown so well.
Sense8 (2015)
What a waste of money
It's disappointing that the creators imagination is firmly planted below the waist.
Chernobyl (2021)
Poor storyline
I wanted to like this movie, after all, no good dramatisation of the event, except an excellent HBO documentary, has been made yet. Hope one day someone would do justice to people like my father in law, who died from effects of radiation after being part of so called "liquidators" but basically being a truck driver hauling stuff to Chernobyl to bury the place.
This movie doesn't.
Poor story line, main hero active wierd and generally does not attract any sympathy at all. As a matter of fact lots of people are acting weird in this movie, illogical and adding to overall confusion.
I think Kozlowski should stick to acting rather than directing. He's done well in Vikings.
My 2c.
Little Women (2019)
Artificial world
Some very artificial world is depicted, a toy world. Who are these people? What planet are they from? How do they make a living? Feels staged. It is staged, but it also feels staged. A spectacle.
And it's terribly difficult to follow the plot.
Very good acting though.
Mid90s (2018)
Unexpectedly brilliant
What a hidden gem this movie is.
Just lazy click of a button to check it out and what a pleasant surprise.
It's, somewhat Signfeldish, movie about nothing, but it grabs you and makes you to watch it.
Nuances of relatioships in teenage groups shown so subtle and realistic without over dramatisation. Acting from unknown actors is awesome. Just shows that great movie can be done without big heavyweights. Who needs them... poor story lines and poor moviemaking... yes
The Witcher (2019)
Full of cliches, poor storyline
They've lost the plot sometimes at episode 4, filled the space with empty pretentious but not clever talk and naked bodies.
No originality, no suspense, no good storyline... bad shallow movie.
Never Let Go (2015)
Terrible acting, half-witted story and plots
The acting is like in primary school drama class, brainless story, naive plots... most frustrating are racial prejudices... an absolute monstrosity from half-witted director.
