Still (2023)
A run through time with an icon
For all that had the honor to grow up with this man and experienced everything he gave us on the screen and off, this will be extremely moving.
I grew up right in his prime and saw his rise, and to now see the struggle, has made me love him even more.
It will be extremely hard to watch at times but he expects no pity from you.
The way this was put together, chronicled his acting roles into the story of his life and was done so beautifully.
It takes you on a rollercoaster with him as things progressed and you realize how strong he was, his family was, and all still are.
I may be pretty biased as an 80's kid but, this was truly inspirational, well produced and directed.
I think many have forgotten how much he has given to the screen and how easy he made it look.
So much respect for him, his family, and everyone involved in this documentary. He deserved this reminder to everyone.
Landmine Goes Click (2015)
Imagine being in their shoes
There is so much going on in this movie.
You have a lot of emotions from how and why it started, to what becomes of it after.
Im fairly new with writing reviews but you will definitely find yourself on both sides of the fence with how you feel throughout this film.
The acting isn't the greatest but definitely isn't horrible.
It gets better as the movie progresses.
You start out feeling one way and then find yourself on the other side.
It was a pretty original movie with being very simple with how it was made.
I think this one is hard to speak on without giving spoilers.
I believe it is ok with saying that it's a group of three that goes on a trip, with two of them being engaged, and about to be married.
Secrets are exposed and one is left with a life threatening situation that keeps him from moving, due to a land mine that he steps on.
He has to remain on it while watching everything unfold right in front of him.
Who all is at fault, and what happens to them, is left to be judged in the end.
I have to say that this is a very simplistic movie that keeps you watching until the end.
Some of the scenes were a bit drawn out and could've been shorter but there just wasn't much more to fill in the time.
You may find yourself wanting to get to the next scene to get it over with because you already know what is going to happen, but I believe it has a very solid storyline and ending.
Im a big fan of obscure movies like this.
However, I probably wouldn't have watched it had it not been for a pretty decent rating. The trailer wasn't great and I found myself tired of scrolling with common themes constantly coming through.
This seemed different and I give kudos to the previous reviewers.
Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery (2022)
You should watch the series first!
I'll watch anything with Jason Bateman in it and I was total unaware of the series. I was a bit confused why it was a little clunky at first so I paused and looked it up to then realized it was improv.
I finished it and actually liked it. However, I went back and binged the series to get a good idea what I was watching, and then watched this one again, and loved it!
Once you realize they are basically clueless, you can enjoy the reactions.
You have to just understand what it is first.
I feel like some of the low ratings were either because they were confused like I was or don't enjoy this type of comedy.
You're not rating an Oscar genre movie or even a typical comedy. You're watching sketch and should probably just take it for what it is.
The Other Guys (2010)
Absolute classic
This movie is extremely underrated. There are lines in here that people are still finally picking up. The main characters are not the only ones with golden lines. It is full of the type of comedy that gets better the more you watch it. Things you've missed that hits you after a couple of views.
It's honestly not a movie to argue about. You either get the quality of this movie or you're on here to prove you have no taste in realizing a legit classic.
