Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Asian porography won 7 Oscars AMPAS
Blame Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that at 95th Academy Awards, gave an Asian porography picture 7 Oscars. I wanted to see who AMPAS awarded this year, 2023. Fortunately for me, in order not to waste my time with messes, I scanned this so called film, and I came across a more than disgusting scene, euphemistically speaking. On wikipedia, you'll found "absurdist comedy-drama film". I didn't understand where the comedy was. The scene is absurd, really. But what I saw next, was a mud stain, on the whole activity of the Academy. Like Jack Nicholson said "I guess this proves there are as many nuts in the Academy as anywhere else." They are totally out of their minds to give 7 Oscars. The producers made a movie according to their level of intelligence and unbalanced mental level. They are not to be blamed: they were, are and will be, all kinds of crazy people in this world. To blame is Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that awarded them.
Runaway Jury (2003)
A foolish to square
The most dangerous movies are the ones that take themselves seriously. The scenario is pathetic: so much stupidity you rarely find. Not even a person less intelligent, doesn't believe such nonsense. The intent of manipulation was probably in the chicken writer's brain, good, but what came out in the film, it's a foolish to square.
Good Will Hunting (1997)
An admirable utopian behavioral film
A few words about the script who won 1998 Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and let's stay in the field of mathematics of non-logical axioms. The two young writers (at the time they wrote the script Matt Damon was 25 years old and Ben Affleck 23) have created utopian characters, as they would have liked to behave, and which cannot be found in real life (based on Damon short experience at Harvard University).
Comparing what the movie tell us and what is confirmed in real life, based on my experience of over 40 years, and especial the last 20, the screenplay is misleading and is based on a perplexing postulate that states that "If A, B, C are TRUE behaviors of GROUP X then D behavior, which belongs of GROUP X, CAN BE TRUE. For an inexperienced person, D's credibility is no longer disputed and is considered as a true behavior. But D is FALSE because it's the exception of GROUP X. Perplexity decreases when group size increases.
Let's take a few examples:
1. Professor Gerald Lambeau's interest in revealing a superior intelligence even than his own. FALSE behavior. In the university system, and beyond, it is a fierce struggle to secure your supremacy.
2. Chuckie Sullivan concern for Will Hunting's future as a failure. FALSE behavior. We all know that the enemy stabs you in front and the friend in the back.
3. The behavior of the main character itself. If he had such a remarkable mind for mathematics, please believe me, his social behavior would have been quite different.
And the examples could continue.
Otherwise, an admirably well-made film just like a fairy tale. Damon and Affleck were each paid salaries of $600,000, while the film grossed over $225 million at the worldwide box office.
The Two Popes (2019)
We are seeing a globalization of indifference!
We are seeing a globalization of indifference. There is a culture of conflict, which makes us think only of ourselves. Makes us live in soap bubbles which, however lovely, are also insubstantial. We've become used to the suffering of others. "It doesn't affect me." No one in our world feels responsible. "I don't have anything to do with it. Must be someone else. Certainly, not me." When no one is to blame everyone is to blame.
House of Cards (2013)
The remains of a smile?
I watched all 26 episodes of the first two seasons, and finally I asked myself the question: how could I waste my time so needlessly. I did not understand and I will never understand, who use such crap. To be so hard to produce something good? It seems that these so-called producers forget the main purpose of entertainment, which is to entertain the viewer. What are we serving? 21st century version of the Court of Louis XIV moved at the White House? A bunch of hypocrites compete to show us who knows the game better? It gives false characters and solutions about how to get to the top? Culture replaced by ignorance. Normality replaced with pitiful world of freaks. Among the few positive elements would be the musical main theme and what's left of ironic smile of Kevin Spacey. This will be our world today? The remains of a smile?
True Grit (2010)
Best place for Coen brothers is an insane asylum
They are so stupid, that "produce" this so-called "artistic film". After that idiotic movie - free advertising on serial killers which no one need to review it - now, they have come up with another idiotic "production." I made a big effort to watch this crap-film to the end, and I can say that caused me the same disgust. The same ultra-cynicism, the same dirt, same stupid speech. Grand Lev Tolstoy, after he wrote his immortal work, said "better not write anything." I can not imagine what these weird brothers could be said after producing such miserable movie. If they really want to shock the world, the best solution would be to ask an operator to film as they throw from Empire State Building.
Napoléon (2002)
Napoléon himself (1769 - 1821) would loved Napoléon (2002)
A fairly successful screening in terms of action and editing. Often, the action suffers because of the phrases. It seems that the whole team mobilized to give the action credibility. The clichés about the general gun often overshadowed the narrative discourse. In retrospect, the direction gave in to the myth created on account of this character. Christian Clavier has created a good character. The documentation was not necessarily a comparison with reality, but a reconciliation with the position once displayed by French cinematography. The only consolation for the evocation of this character was apparently the display of the social madness that was the French revolution.
Agora (2009)
If you want to waste your time, watch Agora (2009) - an elliptical movie for an elliptical audience
I can not write 10 lines for this poor film: poor subject, poor acting, poor directing, a waste of time to those watch it. The film wants to say more, but he says almost nothing. The action has no most elementary logic, is inconsistent. What we see? A woman obsessed about philosophy. She says that. But actually, she is obsessed about astronomy. In writer's mind, philosophy and astronomy are the same. All sorts of illogical and unnatural actions. She wakes and sleeps with a question that torments his mind: why the sun is not always on the same distance from the earth? This was his only concern. Oh, my God! So SF character is very hard to find. The credibility of this character is zero. Among the things misunderstood (there are a lot; probably another 3-4 movies as bad as this), but worth taking into consideration is how an ellipse can produce a female orgasm? My conclusion: an elliptical movie for an elliptical audience.
Gone with the Wind (1939)
Why "Gone with the wind" is so good?
Why "Gone with the wind" is it so good? Maybe because it encompasses all the states of human soul: love and hate, happiness and pain, tenacity and weakness, enthusiasm and disappointment, compassion and indifference, honor and dishonor, sincerity and hypocrisy, wealth and poverty, ability and inability, courage and fear, desperation and hope. And the series could continue. A series as complex as human existence. A movie of success and fails. A movie from which everyone can choose their own way forward in life. A movie of search and self-knowledge. A movie about the mystery of life and death that trying to understand. And believe me. A movie like that will no longer do. Many see and like what they see, little think and even fewer say it. Margaret Mitchell, the novel writer, was one of the very few. If you are one of those few who really ask questions about the meaning of existence, review the film and I am sure you will find the answer to your question. Fortunately for humanity and the human race, most people are mere transmitters of genetic information. I recently reviewed, in order not to know how many times, every time with several years added to the thread of my life, this masterpiece that is not only a great film. It is a living history of human existence in which the author of the novel, not only notices the problems of human existence, but to her great generosity, also offers viable answers. Among many other remarkable scenes I really like one. That oath that the heroine makes, filled with hunger and suffering, in which she synthesizes all the faith of her existence and not only of her.
