The Nightingale (2018)
Outstanding
Because of the many reviews that left me with the impression that I shouldn't watch this film, I decided to give it a go. Honestly I expected something more shockingly evil and graphic, even though yes It is difficult to watch and not for the faint hearted. The photography is gorgeous, the acting spectacular, the storyline: heartbreaking and powerful, very moving. During the credits I sat softly sobbing to myself before the screen and I was not the same after. A must watch If you have the courage.
Suspiria (1977)
Visually beautiful, technically flawed
A beautiful film to watch, the photography and the change of lightening in every scene are visually satisfying, about the acting I can't say the same. Nevertheless a fun watch.
Jagten (2012)
Mads Mikkelsen is great as always
I cannot help but compare this piece with Atonement, this one delivers much better though. I could feel the sadness and desperation through the screen. Very frustrating but very well produced movie. Again Mads' acting is incredible as always.
Dumbo (2019)
I'm a mess of tears
I dont know if its the nostalgic feelin of remembering watching this as a child and trying to avoid watching it on TV because I remember how incredibly sad it made me, but I literally cried the whole movie. Maybe me and the people who poor rated it watched two different pieces. But this movie has a special place in my heart. Not as iconic as the animated original version, but very beautiful nevertheless. Tim Burton, an artistic genius.
House of Wax (2005)
Childhood memories
I remembered this film from my childhood, traumatized the hell out of me. I loved the plot and the photography. Though the secondary cast stink ass, a very well made movie.
