False advertizing: Pornography
25 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Twenty years ago this would have been X rated. This bottom of the barrel, lack of credible story, lesbian cult film was tolerable because of the chemistry of the two leads which I found endearing. The acting was professional and the characters were trying there best to make something out of a very poor script.

The story line was absurd and not in the least bit humorous. With nearly continuous lesbian sex, masturbation, and orgasms the trope wore thin. Hollywood has definitely gone insane. The veiled disrespect for family and morality was clear. Corruption and self-indulgence was glorified beyond all reason - which is becoming a trend in Hollywood today.

The "secret" (unlike the contents of the case in Pulp Fiction) was revealed (MISTAKE) and is so ridiculous I almost laughed at the stupidity of the script - it wasn't funny - clearly showing the level of perversion in Hollywood today.

MAJOR PLOT FAULT: There was no way to connect the products to any individual, so no one's reputation would have been tarnished... There is NO credible story and that is the crime here.

CONCLUSION: This is simply another men are stupid and women are super-intelligent piece of Hollywood propaganda. If the characters were gay men and they were involved with this much unrelated sex, the movie would never have been made. There is no comedy here, only indoctrination that immorality among women is being encouraged as entirely acceptable.

The gun fight scene at the end of the movie was pathetic, contrived, and absurd. If the person wanted to be anonymous, a professional killer would have been hired.

Obviously this is shock fiction, but has little logic or reason. It was culturally educational in that it hinted at the disgust females have for males by abandoning all the elements of dating culture proclaimed evils that apparently are completely fine as long as women are doing it. Female criminals are rewarded for the casual, figurative, castration of men.

Napoleon (2023)
5/10
Depicts Europe as socially decrepit, a pathetic General, x rated sex,.
22 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I will admit the film had some good acting and set designs, but the total lack of any brightness in character, lighting, or mood was more like watching the funeral of a failed nobody who stumbled into his successes. No one is likeable in this slanted history of France and Europe.

Some people will probably enjoy this depiction, but I felt the director was determined to shows France as corrupt and full of self-absorbed leaders.

Napoleon was occasionally depicted as a good general, but mostly as a childlike presence under the humiliating thumb of his chosen woman... a nymphomaniac for everyone but her husband.

The battle scenes displayed an obvious hate for western civilization, showing only the ugly side of war, blown off limbs, dead horses, ( Napoleon reaches in and pulls a cannon ball from his dead horse's chest to have it sent to his mother ) and never a moment of celebration. The movie is shot with continual bad weather, dreariness, and many non-historical events used to highlight war's cruelty and savagery. Not once was eagerness of the officers or fighting men to grow an empire, enjoy success, and show gallantry presented.

There is no humor, no lightness, nothing uplifting (except one scene where Napoleon actually inspires some troops not to shoot him). It is mostly a continual drone of "The evils of Western civilization". I walked out of the movie twice to get snacks, knowing I wasn't missing anything of importance.

The audience saw few uplifting moments, but a disregard for historical accuracy. Soldiers with muskets can't fire their weapons in the rain. No battles took place on a frozen lake. Brilliant maneuvers were absent for the most part and success was visually muted.

So, this isn't a movie for history lovers or people who expect to be uplifted or impressed. Rather a slow rolling concoction of absurd events with most, if not all, the joy removed.

Shallow as a tasty horsoderve tray.
9 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I mean the story line was almost invisible, except to showcase new characters who were underdeveloped yet super powerful with little to no explanation.

The filming, action, and characters were "active and diverse", although it had zero central white actors... so how is this diverse again? Not that it would matter if the story was good, crafted, and easy to follow, but it wasn't.

The women were all KARENS, especially the kid who, although repeatedly saying she was confused always seemed to best everyone, beat the foes, and save the day showing powers as proficient as any highly trained superhero.

I was confused from the beginning since there was no actual in-story character development, or obvious goal shown. Oh, they said there was a goal... because they never showed it.

The evil villain wasn't a villain at all, just a misunderstood woman king who didn't know how to rule or communicate.

The powerful weapons were just eye-toys to advance a confusing story line that eventually was pointless since the final revelation had little to do with the material between the beginning and the end. You could have jumped from the first plot point to the last without losing anything important.

There was a cute factor, but no attempt to explore any deep meanings, actually visually explain events, or develop empathy with the characters. Nick Furry was just an add on decoration who made no real contribution to the story.

Over all: Some good action events, a few funny lines, some fake emotions, and several really bad camera cuts, jumps, and story nonsense. Some people will enjoy this, but most will leave disappointed at how shallow and pointless the journey was.

Well acted and humorous low budget effort.
30 August 2023
Actor Maiara Walsh was especially effective as Kantmiss Evershot, and the rest of the cast was obviously having a great time and it showed. This is a low budget film, but had many good qualities. The filming itself was generally professional, the creativity unique - with a variety of off-beat comic inclusions that I found absurdly funny.

I did roll my eyes a couple of times, but I think that was expected as the writers and director obviously wanted this taste of absurdity in the film. The soundtrack was not intrusive, sound effects well done and overall very appropriate for this style of film.

Not up to Monty Python standards, but still well done. I have to give a nod to Kennedy Hermanson, Lauren Bowles, and Cody Christian for putting a full measure of soul into their characters. As an amateur film-maker myself (The Parchene Conspiracy), I can appreciate the effort all the cast and crew put into this production and anyone who goes into this film with light-hearted expectations should enjoy the content.

Interesting, but a little too long.
9 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This Documentary pointed out very clearly that the specialist, doctors, teachers, and activists who preach transgenderism couldn't even define want a woman was. So how can they support their decisions to transition children?

I'm biased against anyone who can't define their cause without resorting to circular logic and the argument of hurt feelings. Due to repetition of this failure,, I felt the video was a little too long.

Watching the proponents of this cruel and evil practice become offended by the questions was revealing. The movie more than once pointed out they are clueless to explain their bizarre positions of cultural destruction.

Those who questioned the cult of insanity clearly stated the problem with speaking up due to the Gestapo actions of the activists.

My thoughts about the meaning of this tale.
26 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The key to understanding this movie is when the distraught woman, who's husband violently died after she demanded a divorce, picked and ate an apple off a singular tree at a country retreat.

The remainder of the movie was an unfolding disclosure of the damage "Eve did to Adam" by getting them thrown out of the garden of Eden. Man was forced to work and woman was forced to bear children.

This woman denied her duty, deserted love, and was to endure the emotional and physical torment she so callously dished out to others. All the gory events that followed was her penance: being forced to see the "birth" of all the people she had hurt, insulted, rejected, and dismissed; showing the self-centered, evil person she was.

With this in mind, sit back and watch her purgatory unfold in horrid detail.

NOT FOR CHILDREN - Beware
25 April 2022
I found this movie so obscene, cruel, and non-sensical I walked out after 35 minutes. Others may enjoy the absurd plot points, confusion, and disgusting cruelty, but after being revolted for 35 minute, I decided to cut my losses and walked out. It may have gotten better, but anyone under the age of 10 -- SHOULD NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.

A fun movie you can just enjoy.
16 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A professor invents a device that can be tuned to one person to give them a moderate superpower. He also creates a family, since the heroes are orphan children who needed a home. Like most families, there is friction and drama that eventually breaks the family up and the professor assembles a new group to make another.

Two of the original retired heroes want their powers returned and they stage a theft of the super-devices that had been removed when the group disbanded. There is far more to this crime than meets the eye. The twists in the plot are both inventive and well displayed for the audience with added emotional content that most families can enjoy.

This movie may not be one to re-watch as the conventions used are not as deeply satisfying as The Lion King or Casablanca, but well worth the viewing. The acting was excellent, the music very fitting, and the directing and camera work professional.

Movies like this are a joy to watch.

Hits some high 'thrill' marks, but has some low marks too.
19 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The obstacles of the story line were tolerable, the drama intense, but the technical problems with the "construction" were beyond repair.

The acting was top notch, the videography was excellent, and the kids were amazing. I have shot movies and music videos for years and the camera work and lighting was very engaging. The Soundtrack was appropriate. The script needed help with better physical obstacles and character development. I realize this was a low budget film (not as low as my films), but a few flashbacks would have added emotional depth.

I enjoyed the clever visual correlations made through the crucifix as inspiration, the Bible as salvation, and especially the "BIRTH" of the mother through the plastic floor lining. Apple butter was a very clever concept to round out the plot.

My problem is the author/crew had little concept of building construction. I doubt many people would be disturbed by this, but I was. As much as I loved the "birth scene", a builder would never lay clear plastic under vinyl sticky floor tiles, as the adhesive wouldn't adhere.

Great Acting: BUT this movie is very confusing.
11 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Matt Damon was fantastic as the pathetic, angry, yet clueless father who has no real moral compass. The sympathetic French Mother/Daughter combo stole every scene they were in. The movie tried to be WOKE with lesbian content. The bizarre ending made the lack of resolution of the "crime" so unimportant the movie became pointless for me. Go for the acting, but ignore the imbedded American hatred, the lack of justice, and the lack of anything that could be called American goodness. This is not an uplifting movie. It's really quite ugly and makes the French legal system look inept.

I really enjoyed this independent film, but had to suspend disbelief at times.
5 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
As an independent film maker and screen writer, I found the pacing acceptable, the dialogue fine, and the acting better than I could have done on my miniscule budgets. RUN HIDE FIGHT has SOME GREAT MOMENTS and some CLEVER DEVICES making it memorable.

Basically, a survivalist High School senior uses her grit and determination to save her classmates when a group of horrendous misfits broadcast a genocidal rampage of murder and mayhem at her school over social media.

This film has many good qualities that made it fun for me and some poor qualities that momentarily pulled me out of the action. Overall, though, if you can leave your political and blockbuster budgeted expectations at the door, it was entertaining to watch. It was a parable of personal honor offered against a sea of modern day PC insanity.

I enjoyed the acting and appreciated the camera work. Excellent attention to sound and lighting. The theme of self-determination and personal responsibility resonated with me. Even the unorthodox ending found its way into my soul, though it is contrary to modern cultural PC expectations, especially in Left leaning Americans.

There were a few easily fixed logic flaws, but after watching Godzilla vs. King Kong anyone who complains about the anomalies should be ashamed of themselves.

The theme and revelations offered to the viewer more than make up for the technical mistakes. Even the best movies make logic errors and the audience tends to dismiss them if they are being entertained. AND in a society where some groups and media outlets worship criminals, hate personal honor and responsibility, and find no comfort in human justice, this movie is refreshing.

More Leftist Propaganda infuses a non-existent crime drama
1 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The story begins with murder. That's the hook. Denzel, a deputy sheriff from another county, ends up going to his old police station in L.A. to get some information for another case and gets sucked into an investigation related to a serial murder he couldn't solve five years earlier. He gets tangled up with the new investigator and together they blunder through the investigation never once getting any conclusive evidence against the killer.

The acting was superb although the flow of action was choppy and at times unconvincing. The final act shows the two officers being very unprofessional, even mentally deranged, as they abandon all sense of police procedure.

Denzel latches onto a suspect although there is no proof. The director tries to push the narrative that Denzel's guilt of messing up his first case gets the new police investigator so consumed with frustration that he murders the suspect, who is innocent of the crime. They hide the body and it turns out Denzel was also responsible for covering up another policeman's incompetency when five years earlier another innocent was killed.

Basically this is a not so subliminal kick in the face to police and trumpets their incompetence. It locks onto the leftist dogma that law enforcement is petty, ineffectual, and angry enough to lash out at innocent victims (O.J. Simpson comes to mind or Rodney King). I'm surprised the officer wasn't shown kneeling on the neck of the innocent victim, who obviously had physical disabilities that would have prevented him from killing anyone. The suspect says as much just before he is killed.

The director goes so far as to show the license plate of the suspect isn't the same as the killer's. He shows the killer walked without the defect the suspect had. The suspect was also shown as someone who followed police cases and even confessed to a murder he didn't commit eight years earlier due to his need for attention. He finally got the attention he so badly wanted.

All and all this is another political diatribe (although it is more subtle than most) of leftist hatred of police, the guilty are really innocent, and justice will never be dealt out equitably.

One of the most not-so-subtle racist movies I've ever seen.
13 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I doubt this review will pass the leftist sensor, but here goes. The actual movie isn't deserving of such a low grade, probably a 5-6 due to its acting and intense moments, but I can't give a pass on the racist, white hating, stereotyping of Caucasians being the ignorant, black hating fools this movie injects. If each character's race was reversed this movie would be deemed unshootable in today's culture. Specifically, the subtext is that a white man hates his wife because she is black? A black son gets gunned down by white cops for no reason after a traffic stop, an event that is so rare it is implausible unless you buy into the LEFTIST race hating narrative. It is true a few blacks have been killed by police under questionable and on a very few occasions criminal circumstances, but this is SO RARE as to be a statistical anomaly and to inject this event in such a way as to indicate it is normal is the social crime of gaslighting, and a LEFTIST director is probably the only person who could do such a thing in this day and time. The intention of the director seems clear: Hate and the perpetuation of the lie of massive and uncontrolled racism by indicating these events are normal. Again, reverse the roles in your mind and see how the movie holds up.

Some movies are good for other reasons than high budget and famous actors.
18 March 2020
This movie was a little slow to start, but I found the music score very appropriate for the action that slowly grew to fit the story. The plot was well developed and there were points when I cared about the characters more than I expected. I enjoyed this movie on many levels. The 'costumes' and 'props' were very good. As a movie maker myself I could appreciate the time and energy put into the story development and camera work. The technical faults in this movie did not detract from the story in any significant way for me as I didn't expect Hollywood Production Values. I especially liked the way the mystery aspect was developed. I loved the surprises and the twists. The monster was certainly a fine specimen of man-flesh. I also liked the Grandfather played by Ted Legarde as well as the mercenaries. This is an outstanding example of a complex indie movie that reached its goal, though not necessarily perfection. As an indie movie it is probably an 8-9, but a 5 as far as a professional studio release.

A movie you aren't allowed to dislike
21 September 2019
I found this movie initially entertaining, but it quickly devolved into a trite and then absurd piece of fiction devoid of common sense. The crux of this picture is friendship, and that was well done up to a point, but it became self indulgent and manipulative of the audience -- something I find sinful. The characters were generally non-redeeming except to someone who worships the mentally challenged, emotionally defective, and criminally inclined. This narcissistic piece is custom made for leftists, devoid of rationality, (though it did have some endearing moments) and, script-wise, rewarded those in our culture who take, destroy, and whine about everyone else's privilege while embarking on a self-centered escapade of discovery where they eventually are rewarded for being stupid. There were numerous scenes that presented rural men as animalistic morons, but elevated idiots to near godhood. The lone female is nieve and generally unbelievable. The story line, overall, avoids responsibility like so many Hollywood types today, and bathes in forced emotion.

Dunkirk (2017)
5/10
I don't understand all the hype. Several scenes were ridiculous.
26 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is a snapshot glance at possible events during the evacuation of the allied troops at Dunkirk after the military disaster following the German invasion of France in 1940.

I was pretty much bored throughout the first half of the movie and at various times thereafter. Although the historical significance of the events are captured to a limited degree, several of the fictional elements shown were actions of abject stupidity and left me stunned.

#1: No hospital ships were sunk by German aircraft at Dunkirk. #2: The events in the beached trawler were so absurd I doubt any person could be so ignorant. Soldiers trying to plug 30-50 bullet holds in the hull with their fingers and then thinking that killing and throwing out a French soldier would make up for tons of continuous flooding. #3: The shooting down of the German bomber (an event that would have taken 30 second in real time) took 10 minutes in film time. I decided the Spitfire must have been flying at about 1 mile an hour. #4: The killing of the teenager had no significance and was a totally pointless plot device. #5 The out of fuel spitfire then made several impossible aerial maneuvers to shoot down a German plane flying 200 miles an hour faster than it was.

The only truly heroic person in the movie was the civilian boat captain who managed to dodge his boat around a German fighter attack, a totally absurd scenario. I have never, however, seen anything that indicated German aircraft attacked any small civilian boats. All and all I can't express my disappointment with this movie. I don't think its terrible, but it is certainly not praise worthy.

Why do people like this boring, pointless movie?
11 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The acting was good, filming was done professionally, there was no real story, however, except futility. Nothing was explained about the "disease" that was "out there" and no reasons were given for the title of the movie. This was NOT A HORROR FILM, it was a film about fear and violence, none properly explained. No one had any redeeming qualities. There was initially friendship between two families caught in some "vague" danger, but it quickly broke down to hatred and murder. I suggest you don't waste your time and money on this one. Probably the worst movie I have seen this decade. It didn't follow any Hollywood film standards of a three act structure, had no hero, no bad guy, or any resolution. It did have tension at times, but it was hollow and proved artificial and ultimately meaningless. There was a real opportunity to turn the movie around toward the end, but the writer missed it completely, instead falling back on keeping the audience in total ignorance. Don't go unless you are a psychology student trying to impress a SJW professor.

Most RACIST movie this year
14 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't expect much from this movie as it is a remake several times over and it didn't disappoint me in its blandness. What surprised me was the racism thrown in my face.

A black couple wants a child and needs a black surrogate mother. Fine. That's the story, now let's begin the extreme racism. There are basically only three white men presented in the film. They are the only people who are egotistical, immoral jackasses, and the only reason why the crazy black woman is crazy – blaming her condition on her degenerate foster father (who was what? You guessed it - a white rapist and murdered by her) and her abusive boyfriend (who was what? You guessed it, also white, super-abusive and murdered by her). All the other characters in this movie are victims, who just happen to be black except the white boss who with total whiteness demotes the poor innocent black man for no good reason.

The male lead was good and the surrogate mother was pretty, but the rest is on the level of just okay, nothing outstanding. I knew everything that was going to happen, from the girl finding the shot gun, to the wife hitting her with the car, to the girl sneaking into the house to cause mayhem. The baby incubator mother was presented as completely sane throughout most of the movie, until they could spoon feed the audiences excuses for her insanity due to what? You guessed it – white people. The director even has a go at the police who are presented as hostile, man hating thugs who scream a lot at the poor victimized black man. Besides being completely predictable and boring I really don't have that much to say about this waste of time production.

The wonder of imagination.
14 August 2016
Brad Schoolcraft plays a character with a family treasure: an envelope that delivers information about future events assuming you write down the appropriate question and place the query inside. Brad uses this unique gift he found in his father's mystery chest to catch the woman he loves through the telling of strange tales and various adventures he has had due to his father's bequest. This short video is quick paced and very well acted. The cinematography is excellent with some beautiful slow motion shots of a water fountain. Hold onto your seat and enjoy the ride as the character saves lives, confounds thieves, saves people's relationships, and wins his true love with his gift.

The Science/Logic is gone from this Science Fiction fest
24 June 2016
Warning: Spoilers
OK, I will be short. The illogical story line, massive scientific defects, and other absurdities are made up in part by short high intensity action sequences, some comic relief, grand CGI, and some interesting acting choices by characters desperately trying to make this movie work. It will be fun to watch only if you check your brain at the door.

The three most distressing groups of plot points for me:

1) A ONE HUNDRED TRILLION TON space ship can't land on a 12 mile thick planetary crust. If the ship's gravity is large enough to pull items off the Earth's crust it would pull the Earth and moon out of orbit.

2) The logic of an "Alien Mother Being" controlling billions of hive creatures deciding to exit her ship (with limited protection) to pick up a small "ball of intelligence" defies belief.

3) This super massive Alien Mother Ship had fewer fighter aircraft than a separated space disk from the original movie. Also, she had about 12 soldiers on the ground to aid her when there were Tens of Thousands of soldiers on the original hive ship (from the first movie) and therefor millions on her vessel.

I said my piece, so go enjoy knowing the science/logic is really bad.

Slow paced and confusing
2 May 2016
Since I didn't know the main character was from a video game, I came with high hopes. Unfortunately, the movie was quite boring, slow paced, and the actions - scenes were so poorly knit together I was confused most of the time.

I would compare the viewing experience as similar to reading a comic book with half of the dialogue bubbles removed and a few pages missing.

Granted the art work was very well done and the voice actors did their best, but the story was an unrelated string of actions out of context and jokes that were bland and often totally out of place: absurd one-liners that took me out of the story (what little there was of one) and made me want to get up and leave.

I have a feeling this movie will fail miserably at the box office as word gets out because there was only one other person in the theater with me.

If you grew up with this game then there is every chance it will have more meaning and the story might make sense, but if you are unfamiliar with the premise I wouldn't go unless you are taking your 10 year old (or younger) who will be entranced by the cartoon like themes.

A short analysis of its failure to connect
26 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Everyone else has made in depth reviews, but no one had explained why this movie totally fails to live up to its inception. The premise is established early on, Igor's perspective and his love for a woman, as well as the promise - we know what happens in the end.

The movie, 50% in, departs into the all to common trash heap of needless violence and leaves Igor standing in the wings doing nothing. What could have been an amazing study in humanity degrades to mindless slashing, screaming, and absurd carnage.

It was very disappointing to leave the most interesting characters and plot points in the wings: the love interest of Igor, a brothers immortal bond, the parable of death and life as seen through Igor. The brother could have been a TRUE REVELATION but was cast aside for mindless violence. An original ending would have left Igor staring at the castle just before the "event" but not entering. We could have felt the pathos, experienced mystery and dread, actually felt a personal bond with the characters... but no. Mindless spectacle destroyed everything.

Another tired computer game mentality action movie
13 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The actual story is about immoral females taking revenge on immoral men. This feminist diatribe is little more than a vehicle to show endless and pointless violence, cardboard characters, and a plot outline that is absurd. A group of prostitutes have amassed enough money to develop a sting operation against their pimps. The females employ needless and draconian levels of deceit to get the "transporter" to drive them around town by kidnapping his father. It gets worse. This movie has nothing to do with the premise of the original series: a moral man transports a package and overcomes criminals and obstacles while remaining true to his "rules of conduct". In this farce he breaks all his rules, becomes more criminal than good, and beats up numerous innocent people. The prostitutes have somehow developed the skills of the best CIA agents and use lies and disguises to partake in their revenge. The director doesn't have the guts to make the characters real and seriously backtracks their unnecessary evilness to a level of childlike innocence. If you love mindless violence with no moral code go see this movie.

The Movie that didn't know what to be.
24 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This review is simple, because the movie didn't know what to be: (1) A COMEDY - not really. There were far too many minutes of mindless dialogue, lack of inventive gags, absence of appropriate wit; (2) A SCIENCE FICTION - absolutely not. There was no science, reasonable explanations, or context; (3) A ROMANCE - Not at all. Whatever human contact the characters had was superficial, boring, and trivial. The opportunity was there but promptly discarded. (4) TRAGEDY - Not in the least, except for perhaps a few minutes toward the end. (5) SPECTACLE - Yes.

In effect these elements were touched on, but not one was fully embraced, and by no means explored (except the COLOR-SPECTACLE). There were perhaps 3-4 laughs to be had, one about every 30 minutes. I honestly can't say when it came off the rails, but it was very early on, I would guess when the two arrive at the White House.

I was bored a multitude of times and sporadically entertained.

Hot Pursuit (2015)

Hot Pursuit lost its pursuit of comedic content...
17 May 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Humor is subjective, so another person might find favor with the director's intent, but I doubt many would laugh. There were about 50 people in the theater and no one laughed while I was in there.

I sat in this film for 20 minutes and only smiled once or twice. Sure the lead actor is cute, but not funny. The second female lead was super annoying in voice (high pitch whine) , acting (yelled all the time), attitude (arrogant), and appearance (wore tight fitting "glamor" dress and super high heals).

The only likable figures are "removed" from the film early on by plot twists that were so ridiculous that I moaned aloud. The story line was pathetic from the first "joke" until I walked out, so if the storyline improved I don't know.

This movie couldn't have cost $30 million to make. What I saw was a second rate "B" movie of super low-budget quality. I do not recommend it to anyone who is expecting high-brow or even low-brow humor. Go only if your love Reese and can excuse all else on the screen.
