The InBESTigators (2019)
Bad
What functioning member of society above the age of 6 would like this show?
Inception (2010)
My favorite movie
This film is probably my favorite of all time. Almost everything about this film is perfect. The cast is phenomenal, and Nolan brings out the best in every actor. The script is airtight, leaving time for some less intense parts, while still having the density all Nolan films have. The score is amazing, and brings out all of the best action scenes. Having watched the movie over and over again, it still holds up, and upon each watch I'll notice something new.
The New Mutants (2020)
Is anyone surprised about this
This movie really sucks. My expectations were on the floor and I was still disappointed. The acting was awful, I hated all of the characters, it wasn't scary, and there wasn't really an antagonist at all. It's not even funny bad, it's just terrible. 2/10
Be Our Chef (2020)
Pretty bad
Angela Kinsey is annoying, all of the families are very self centered, only redeeming quality is the Disney style meals.
Joker (2019)
Not perfect, but pretty close
Joker is a movie that demands to be seen more than once. It is gruesome, strange, shocking, and amazing. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing as Arthur Fleck/ the joker, and he definitely deserves an Oscar for this performance. Robert De Niro has a great performance, although he has very little screen time. The visuals in this movie are one of the best parts. Every shot looks like a beautifully crafted photo. The score is also amazing (I'm not going to spoil anything, but there is one part that genuinely gave me goosebumps because of the score). The soundtrack is okay, and while it is fine, it feels a little manipulative at one point. The script is... okay. The dialogue is fine, but it feels like what is happening and the sequence of events is only okay, and feels overtly obvious at parts (you'll see what I mean).
Gravity Falls (2012)
This show was my early childhood
I was around 6 when this show started, and around 9 when it ended. I watched every episode either the day it came out, or the day after, and I loved every episode. This show is possibly the best show I've ever watched. It is very Twin peaks-esque, and some kids might not understand it if they're under ~6, and it might frighten most kids. I remember watching the first episode of season 2, and having nightmares of it. Overall, the show is great, and holds up very well.
Baby Driver (2017)
One of the most creative and fun movies I've seen.
This movie is very stylized, and a lot like other Edgar Wright films. It is fast paced, entertaining, and very stylized. You know every character, and what they want. Baby is not very likeable or relatable, but for this, it works. The main "gimmick" of this movie is that there is music playing during the movie, and everything in the movie is in sync with the music. The story makes sense and moves forward. It never really slows down, and that's okay. The only issue I have with the movie is the end, and if you have watched it, you'll know why. All the actors are great, especially John Hamm, Kevin Spacey, and Jamie Foxx. Ansel Elgort is alright in this movie, he's not terrible, he's not awful, he's okay. I don't love him, I don't hate him. If you like fast movies with style and good soundtracks (mainly the Guardians of the Galaxy), then you'll like this movie.
I Am Mother (2019)
Decent movie carried by costume and set design
The plot of the movie, while succeeding in what it wants to, doesn't believe stick with you in the end, and makes rewatching harder than the first time, especially because of the twist. The acting is decent with what the cast was given, with no real exceptions. The costume and set design sets a very nice atmosphere, and makes the movie look a lot more expensive than it was.
