The Machine (2023)
Overly rehearsed forced comedy...
A story of Bert being a rip off of van wilder with a high pitched squeaking laugh is a movie that should never have been made. It is a painfully unfunny, cringeworthy and offensive attempt at comedy that fails on every level. The plot is nonexistent, the characters are stereotypes, the jokes are stale and the acting is atrocious. The only thing worse than watching this movie is listening to Bert's annoying laugh, which sounds like a dying mouse being tortured. This movie is an insult to the intelligence and taste of the audience, and a waste of time and money for everyone involved. I give it zero stars out of five and advise you to avoid it at all costs.
Bert should stick to doing 48 podcasts and continue to do his nauseating fake 20min whistle-squeal laugh.
The Gringo Papi (2022)
Undercooked chiggen
You can't get through it, like undercooked chiggen from your favorite Asian establishment it was disappointing and you don't want that.
In all sincerity it would seem Brendan has all the tell tale signs of someone surrounded by "yes men". Comedy grit is very real and I believe that can only obtained through years of tanking in the comedy club. There's also such a thing as too much exposure, when someone is on 3-5 podcasts per week and you know what they ate for lunch 2 weeks ago or how many whiggskeys they've drank that night?
It's too much info, people want to hear about experiences and it's obvious he's just shoveling as much content as possible to build an audience.
I use Dave Chappelle as an example he goes dark for a month or two and then when he does an interview or some stand up it's hilarious and a treat.

Bert needs less exposure to be more funny
I hate to give this such a poor review because I'm genuinely a fan of Bert's. To me it this special was lots of recycled stories that were maybe a bit better polished. Only two jokes I hadn't heard before.
The first 1/3rd of the special Bert talked so fast and was out of breath, seemed nervous, he eventually settles in to a rhythm.
I've been following Bert since before his Travel Channel days, I have to say his comedy has suffered in recent years in the sense that I think his creativity is spread too thin, between podcasting and film projects.
Also when a person is in the public eye as much as Bert it's not as much of a "treat" to hear stories from the podcasts or his stand up 2 years ago. Too much exposure is a real thing.
I hate to use this example but look at Dave Chappelle, you don't see him but maybe once every month or two and it's exciting because he's having experiences and people want to hear about what he's been up to.
People know what Bert had for lunch last Saturday and how many drinks he had, he needs less exposure to be better at stand up.
Brendan Schaub: You'd Be Surprised (2019)
How could this happen?
I had 7 friends over to watch Schaub's special and I was honestly embarrassed I suggested it... 15min in and no laughs, 30min in and we had to shut it off it was that bad.
I feel bad for the guy. How could he be surrounded by so many good comedians and be this terrible. Has no one said "Hey you suck and here's why"was. Lots of set ups with no punchlines. Mostly him laughing way too hard at his own stories. He ripped off a "Loud Fajita bit" from Nick Swardson.
It was bad, Showtime is dumb for giving him a special after 3 years of comedy.
