Blood Vendetta (2024)

Family matters even in time of war.

The film revolves around a guy who´s brother have been captured by the vc forces and now he´s got to get him out of there, what comes next it´s war plain and silmple as he tries to get his brother out, with 3 soldiers under his command, there are extreme violence in the movie, with lots of explosions, patrol boat, helicopters, snakes, traps, everything we want in a movie like this.

Many great war films of the Vietnam conflict are centered around these themes of blurred morality and the uselessness of war, This one brings the theme of family into the question here, the love of brothers, and this guy does anything he has to do, to find his brother alive.

The Exterminator: Don Teschio's Revenge (2023)

The exterminator is on a rampage.

A good sequel to last year´s effort to revive the exterminator franchise, this one brings new elements and also brings in a new character skeleton.

This guy has a voice like the joker from the injustice games he sounds like Mark Hamill, whenever he spoke i was seeing and hearing the joker, and it´s so cool.

We also have Don Teschio back doing all his stuff giving orders, we get to finally see Canelli, and they have a really good conversation with a real sense of power to it, and loss.

The exterminator now has a girlfriend, but bad things will happen to both, i don´t want to spoil the good stuff, but the movie ends on a cliffhanger, and i am anxious to see what´s coming up next.

Jeepers Creepers Returns (2023)

A solid monster horror flick.

First off we see a new approach to creepers myth, we start off in 1590 were a warlock summons the creeper to earth from hell (this one was awesome) and very well done.

Then we go to the present were the town of pogo county knows that the creeper has awakened the hunters are waiting for him, a guy named savage leads his team to capture and kill it and this guy a menacing man, the way he talks we emerge ourselfs in his character and i dig that a lot, kudos to him for doing what is done here.

This is a traditional.run and hunt game between the creature and the hunters, how long can they take to catch him and kill him, and how long can the creature prey on his victims.

A very well done portuguese fan movie, that brings us what we all want from a movie like this.

A return that for me was abysmal.

Hellbox Origins (2022)

The ceremony has begun...

The movie begins with a guy taking photos in a forest to lakes and some stuff until he sees a sexy girl, that lures him into a house there, but she´s a demoness in disguise, once he enters he will never leave, for the hellbox to be created a very intense ceremony takes place with the two of them having sex and his blood his the key to unlock the creation of the hellbox, Pinhead appears with the puzzle box along with Alastor to reign supreme.

Violence and gore reign this movie along with a suspenseful soundtrack.

I liked it.

7/10.

Halloween: Prodigal Son (2021)

Good Fun Slasher

For me this one was better than Halloween Kills, loved the kills on this one, we don´t need lots of blood to prove that a movie is good, the investigation scenes were the best.

There´s a connection with the thorn cult in this, wich i found that was cool.

The camera work is good and the direction seems a little different than i was expecting, but it surprised me on some angles.

It's still fun and always fun to see fan films like this when Halloween season comes.

8/10.

The Thing Returns (2021)

Fuelled by nostalgia with a twist

This subverted my expectations in a good way.

Don´t listen to the haters, they should go fishing instead of critize movies, they don´t understand.

It´s the real sequel and a glorious hommage to the classic.

The creatures and the pratical effects were so awesome, i couldn´t believe i was watching a low budget.

And the cast made a good job.

8/10 for me.

The Artifact (2021)

A "Fun" adventure in Egypt...

An ancient object his sent to a museum in Lisbon, there the curator, touches the object, and on that night he has a dream...a dream that will take him on journey trough time, taking him to egypt reliving his past life, to discover secrets and ancient curses.

Loved the mummy, the animations of the ancient war, and the supernatural moments. A really good tale from Constantino Filmes, director Rui Constantino continues to surprise us all, with is low budget movies.

Hellbox 3: Alastor Revenge (2020)

It´s not equal to the original film, but still worth watching

Hellbox III goes more in depth into some of the things that were presented in part II. If you are a horror fan, the entire Hellbox series is obviously mandatory viewing, but I think that other people, who likes the original hellraiser franchise, should realize that this is tribute to that series, they are not meant to be mainstream films. These are made for people who are into this kind of splatter film, and as a splatter film it succeeds on many levels. I´m not a fan of this kind of movie, but since i´ve watched the first one, i went along with the all series, to see where it could take me. For me Alastor is a fascinating character, and for me the only redeeming quality of the all movie.

Sinister Dreams (2020)

The Necronomicon vs Freddy Krueger

Where do i start, not the worst, but not the best either, it really his a tribute to the franchise of nightmare on elm street, with some dream sequences, scary stuff and a new portuguese Freddy, with a few one liners, that pays homage to Englund´s Freddy.

Now the story takes us to a father that works in a museum and brings home, some lost pages of the necronomicon, so Freddy comes back to haunt his daughter so that she can manage to bring her friends, so that Freddy can kill them, and then be released once and for all, from the bounds of hell.

It´s got a cool soundtrack, and good special effects For me 8/10.

Aliens Redemption (2019)

Cinematic experience movie, and a tribute to James Cameron´s Aliens

If you want some dense and thrilling atmosphere and a little more claustrophic feel, Aliens Redemption would be my choice. Incredible effects, new marines, cool weapons, Alien Queen, facehuggers, alien warriors, engineers, derelict, egg silo, Apc, dropship ud-4l, new spaceships. In this short, we´ve got things, i never saw in any of the aliens movie franchise. Great action, suspense and intrigue finale, stay after the credits roll, there´s a special scene, that i think it may somehow lead us to a sequel...i hope so. Just an awesome sci fi/ horror flick, and the most incredible about all of this, is that it´s made by a portuguese director... Awesome job man after this short movie, i´m a fan of your work.

The Call 2 (2019)

The Purifier Returns

It has no nudity, no F--words, no sex... The last fifteen minutes was the final cat and mouse conflict, the killings are brutal and bloody. All in all, "The Call II " is worth taking the time to watch, both if you are a fan of the franchise or just enjoy a good old horror/action flick. The music is over the top.

A Solid Sequel, True to the Original

If you're a fan of the 1st movie, then you have to see this one, since it's the best sequel you can get. If you like a movie with a charismatic bad guy and if you enjoyed the 1st movie, then i would definitely say "give it a watch!"
