I’m a native Texan. I’ve spent my 40-year career working as a writer, teacher, counselor, fund-raiser, grant-writer and administrator in nonprofit human services working with children, youth, seniors, people with disabilities, low-income families and homeless persons. I served as a member of the Texas DOT Public Transportation Advisory Committee and have been an advocate for improved public transit for seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families in rural and small town Texas for a decade. I’m a conservative politically.
Ronald Reagan was my favorite president. I play folk guitar, long-necked banjo and harmonica. I’m a Seventh day Adventist Christian and church deacon. I've worked 40 years in the nonprofit sector, led or worked on startup teams for 5 nonprofit and educational organizations, served on three nonprofit boards, was vice-president of the Smith County Homeless Coalition and worked as a volunteer web-raiser for East Texas Virtual Village. I’m a published writer to my credit, a poet and author of “Going for the Green: An Insider's Guide to Making Money With Charity Golf” and four other books. I've more than 2000 articles and features published online and in print medial. I won a gold award for screenwriting at the 1995 Worldfest Charleston International Film Festival and the 1996 Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.
I’m married (43 years and counting) to Sheila Keen, a tall pretty Louisiana girl and together we had 3 children and three grandchildren. We lost our son, Micah in 2007. We look forward to seeing him again when Jesus returns.
God ran me out of Texas in the summer of 2011 and apparently sent me as a missionary to Washington State. The folk who live out away from the big cities in Washington are almost as colorful as the folk from East Texas, so the culture shock is not as great as everyone said it would be. Found a lovely church and some nice people to hang with, so we're all right it seems. Bit of a stranger in a strange land, but I've always been that, so nothing new really.

Christmas Cupid (2010)
Most Appalling "Ex-Mas" Movies I've Ever Seen.
Where can I start? It was filmed as the "Ex-Mas Movie". And, no kidding they use "Ex-Mas" instead of Christmas all through it. they called it Ex-Mas. It was awkward. And the dancing and gyrating during rocked up Christmas carols about baby Jesus was disconcerting. This probably represents the nadir of the feel-good Christmas genre.
