A befuddled mess...
11 July 2003
They should show this movie to all high school students to show them the importance of an education. They might realize that any person with a 5th grade education can understand everything that makes this movie a flaming piece of crap. The filmmakers decided to throw history, literature, physics, and math completely out the window when making this. Who knew that Mr. Hyde was actually the Incredible Hulk?

This might qualify as the worst movie ever made. If there is a movie hell, this would be showing every night. Please, I'm begging you, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME ON THIS SORRY EXCUSE FOR A COMEDY!!! I'm not usually a very harsh critic....but this was just plain bad.

This is true to the original story???
2 March 2002
I recently had to read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for my literature class and I loved it! So I was really excited to watch the movie that is supposed to be 'true to the original novel'. Let me tell you that I was QUITE disappointed. This film is nothing like the original novel. Kenneth Branaugh should be ashamed. This is probably his second worst film (after the musical version of Loves, Labours, Lost). He completely changed the ending, and it was terrible. If you're ever planning on watching the movie so that you don't have to for a class, DON'T! And just so you know, I do love the original 1931 version of Frankenstein, even though it is nothing like the novel either.
