Mindwalk (1990)
The Interconnectedness Of Life
There are not enough superlatives to praise this genius film! The Cartesian split brought about that cut''em'/up philosophy where the Church said "O.K., we'll take the SOUL" and Science said "O.K...it's a deal...we'll take the BODY and everything MATERIAL." And thus it has been for hundreds of years: until the dawning of this Aquarian Age...when we begin to see the interdependence of all systems, relationships, things. 'MINDWALK" will leave you entranced as you hear these three wonderful characters talk about those things which you have always believed to be 'true' deep down inside..."what oft was thought but ne'r so well expressed." You might even be brought at the end to that start point of asking your self: what is the SOURCE of this interconnectedness?? Does it have a name? And what will YOU name it?? This No-Thing-Ness that connects everything so that all is ONE? Students of Meister Eckhart, Hildegard of Bingen, Julian of Norwich, Francis of Assisi, and Thomas Acquinas will quickly recognize the glory of Creation Spirituality in this magnificent film. Get some exercise...let your mind do the walking: See This Film, please!
Anna (1951)
Silvana: The Face Of A Nun
I think this is one of the most beautiful Italian films ever made and I know my views are shared by many! The wildly, beautiful Silvano and the late Vittorio Gassman are excellent in their roles. The songs and dances by Silvana can only be compared to the 'heat' generated by Rita Hayworth in "Gilda"--and you will find yourself loving those love songs for the rest of your life. When she becomes "Sister" Anna: you'll want to have a box of tissues handy.
Lovely Sophia Loren makes one of her first appearances in this beautiful film directed by Carlo Ponti.
American Psycho (2000)
The "Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the 21st Century
If you have never seen "Dr. Strangelove" or if you are not exactly sure what is meant by 'satire'--then grab your coat and hat and run out to see this superb film. This is the film that will propel Christian Bale to superstardom! Yes, it's a 'joke' folks! But the ugly truth of our greed in America is held up to our faces like a mirror...and it's not just the 1980's...GREED is alive and well in America in the new century.
How delightful that two of the most beautiful men to ever play Jesus (Christian Bale and Willem Dafoe) should be the stars of this wonderful film that is sure to be a seminal cult classic!
