Waydowntown (2000)
Plus 15s, leg fish and other assortments of oddities
Admittedly, this movie wasn't everyone's cup of tea... and I also probably have a bias towards it because I'm a Calgarian and I was having fun pointing out all the areas I recognized (such as: Kathy works at Club Monaco).
There was some excellent dialogue in this movie and (as an aspiring film maker) the cinematography was absolutely fantastic and in serious character with the movie. I _loved_ all the characters, especially Paul, Tom (of course) and the random secretary with the big hair. Sure, parts of the movie were a little out of sync, and it lagged at points, but it was still definitely worth a rental.
The Young Poisoner's Handbook (1995)
Do you take Antimony in your tea?
One problem with this movie was that I wasn't sure whether I was allowed to laugh or not. It's a sick, black comedy, and quite disturbing given that it's based on truth. And yet it's strangely humourous. Hugh O'Conor is absolutely PERFECT in the role of Graham Young. As a longtime Hugh O'Conor fan, I will admit I may have been biased towards this film -- after all, I will enjoy his work in any movie -- but this movie was also well-acted by the entire cast. If you can stomach it, watch the film.
Surf Ninjas (1993)
You must see this movie
Surf Ninjas, in truth, is a bad movie, the effects are bad, the clothes are hideous, but it is soo sooo good. The entire movie is one big long quotable and, might I add, Ernie Rayes Jr is quite the hottie. So go see it, and may the kwantsu be with you.
