Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)

Really impressive film

An exceptional film, that has similarities to Star Wars(77) this has real heart and unexpected humour to it, that I found surprising and utterly welcome. The droid BB8 although a real thing, has CGI added to it that is amazing, Daisy Ridley is utterly outstanding in her role and Harrison Ford is..... Well Han Solo, Chewbacca is actually a character I really liked in this, they've given him a bit more expression... Anyway, go and see this NOW you wont be disappointed.

I have to add 10 lines for This review Here's a line This is a good movie It really is, I've said all I need to say, But if you don't think so, move on, and if you like it, then great.

The Sweetest Thing (2002)

Keep repeating "its only a movie, its only a movie"

The "musical" number in the restaurant about 40mins into this movie

will give you a brain tumour. It's THE worst single scene I think I've ever seen in a Movie, or sitcom for that matter. Christina Applegate was fantastic in Married.... with Children, but this is just sooooo dire she must really have been desperate to work with Ms Diaz. Diaz, is pretty much the same as usual($15 million fee allegedly - although amazingly it looks like the studio made their cash back) but it's really the hack direction and lack of a script that sinks this mess.

Its almost a complete rip-off of There's something about Mary, you can hear the studio execs when you're watching it, "we want a Something About Mary for the ladies". Well, they completely failed; they have a frank-n-beans style scene that ends up turning into another musical number that's nearly as bad as the previous one.

If you're a fan of any of the people involved in this movie, and you want to remain one, stay away, you have been warned!

Escape from East Berlin (1962)

Good thriller, spoiled by ending

`prisoners' of communist East Germany, lead by chauffer Kurt Schroder (Don Murray), plan an escape under the Berlin wall.

Pretty good escape thriller, with good performances from Murray and Christine Kaufmann, let down really by a predictable and disappointing ending.

The Prime Minister (1941)

World war II propaganda flick

This film was produced in 1941, and the feeling one gets when watching it that you are being educated in how to be loyal to England. A loose portrayal of the life and career of Benjamin Disraeli, culminating in him making military moves, with the consent of queen Victoria behind the cabinets back.

Very ham-fisted in its message, you almost want to start arguing with the screen, not because its particularly inaccurate in its portrayal of Disraeli, just that its essentially a war-time propaganda film, and nothing can be that cut and dried.

Gielgud is fascinating to watch as always, but even he seems to begin to grate towards the end.

Seinfeld (1989–1998)

Easily The Best US Sitcom Out There

This is about the only US sitcom I've managed to sit through longer than about 5 minutes of. It took about 4 or 5 episodes to become addicted, and now I cant stop watching!

If you have a choice in the matter start with seasons 6 7 and/or 8, these really are outstanding, the earlier ones seem to be pre-occupied with trying to show off Jerry's stand up routine, but anyone whos ever seen Bill Hicks knows that there only really ever was one guy who could do it well.

But I digress, even the really early shows are brilliantly written and it shouldn't put you off. Michael Richards is a god of physical comedy, dunno what his show's like we'll see!!
