Season 7 was originally slated to be the last season of the show, but through petitions from fans and a massive production deal the series was saved from cancellation.

Katrina Milosevic and Celia Ireland both claimed the scene where Liz is being smothered was one of the hardest scenes to film for them ever. Milosevic claimed the last months of filming for that scene were 'hard for everyone'. It was also revealed that Katrina and Celia were the last ones to find out the series had been renewed for a further 20 episodes. Kat and Celia were filming Liz's final scene and it was a choice by production not to tell them until way after the scene had been completed.
