What a wonderfull experience!
mavrickcam1 November 2019
Sir David Attenborough's narration with beautiful cinematography makes for an amazing viewing experience. We as humans should also listen to the message; we share our planet with other beings, safeguarding our future together is our responsibility. If we keep on the path of ignorance it will soon be too late to make it right. Ps: Shows like these make paying the license fees worth it.

Gorgeous and Enthralling
farshidkarimi28 October 2019
I have been waiting for this series to come out for a long time. And, the wait is over.

The first episode is magnificently breathtaking, the shots are eyegasmic, scenes are marvelous and the theme which runs through the episode is eye-opening.

Such a beautiful planet with all Her creatures closely and mysteriously entwined, making the viewers wonder and ponder over the beauty and majesty of all these correlations and existence.

Of course, there are harrowing scenes which are part of this mystery and beauty. This Our Planet with all her beauties and harrowing scenes. However, those scenes are nothing compared to what human beings are doing to each other and the Planet we are living on.

Unfortunately, we humans are wreaking havoc on all this majesty and glory, blithely producing waste, consuming too much and dumping all the contamination on this magnificent Planet.

The gem, Sir, David Attenborough, added more beauty to this episode and brought more enjoyment to watching it. May this shining gem live for another 50 years to bring more delights and pleasures to our eyes for the generations to come.

Unequalled...period.
jongreatorex9 November 2019
It does seem unfair when attempting to compare a masterpiece, (as this most definitely is), against 'popular', well-executed fiction 'blockbusters'. (A look at IMBD's most highly-rated films shows public discerning proof of this). As indicated, four years in the making, editing many thousand of hours footage, would render a 90+ minute slice of popular entertainment rather inconsequential by comparison. It is more a reflection of our world and its precious diversity that is magnificently portrayed here. Yes,it is 'political' exhibiting how we, (as a supposedly superior race ), are systematically annihilating creatures that do not have our capacity to protect and preserve this beautiful planet that we are so privileged to inhabit. But we do have an obligation to tell future generations why their ancestors did what they did to reduce diversity. Place yourself 100 years from now - would 'The Shawshank Redemption' resonate over how our present generation disregarded, exploited and left the planet they were left with ? The choice is yours. I'm not an activist in any form - have never been on marches, signed petitions, called for changes, to my shame. I'm like the majority of the people who read this - benignly concerned, yet apathetic. I'm an old failure. And I'm truly, truly sorry for my lack of action. SHAME ON ME.

Superb, simply put

Always a fan of Sir David's works and this is no different. The BBC has a monolith like arm for cinematic splendour, and as a photographer myself, seeing the behind the scenes at the end is always inspiring.

I also found out that the cine lenses they use are Canon 70-1000mm, yes 1000mm! Those things cost around £70,000 each. This kind of gives you an idea on the type of distances they are from the wildlife to get many of the shots that would otherwise be impossible.

The musical score, the action, the insight and the narration, a better combination that Hollywood movies costing hundreds of millions of dollars.... And you end up having a new found respect and understanding for nature as a whole.

Just seen the 2nd Episode and that includes Indonesia where I have lived since 1986. I've been to Sumatra and more recently Tanjung Puting and the Leakey research centre and feeding stations. Truly an experience you must see. Only 2 hours by plane and boat from Jakarta

Series 9.8/10 with Hans Zimmer's Music its a Perfect 10
niks-b31 January 2020
We all know by now how breathtaking BBC Earth Series are,but this one 'oh Boy' finding rare and never seen species and narrating their behavior through voice of God(Sir David Attenborough) is a rare Gem itself on top of that Hans Zimmer has set bar high for the series, only he can create music that makes a scene melancholic in one moment and joy in next. This is something that should be on 'Watch it before you Die List'. PERIOD

Wondrous planet
TheLittleSongbird4 February 2020
Have been a massive fan of David Attenborough for most of my young adult life and see any new project of his without fail. Amazing images, information that entertains, teaches, moves and shocks, cute and menacing animals, complex mix of emotions and unforgettable sequences are abound in everything he does, and it is hard to not listen to his distinctive voice for hours. 'Seven Worlds, One Planet' looked great from the advertising and looked like one of the year's must sees.

Seeing all seven episodes, with each episode detailing one continent each, 'Seven Worlds, One Planet' was not a let down in any way. Perhaps not one of Attenborough's very finest but still a gem, and it doesn't matter that some of what is presented here is familiar ground (i.e. the opening scene of "Asia" being reminiscent of the 'Our Planet' episode "Frozen Worlds") because everything here is so brilliantly done with no obvious flaws. All seven episodes are equally brilliant and must sees.

Despite airing in the early evening instead of the usual post-watershed time, 'Seven Worlds, One Planet' is much darker, more unsettling and more emotionally devastating than one would think. Regarding whether it is suitable for younger audiences and whole families, there is more than enough to be educated and wowed by, that is easy to understand and is not too heavy or scary. Be warned that there is at least one bit in each episode that will disturb even older viewers not easily disturbed.

All the episodes look fantastic, not just the wonderfully varied environments and the dazzlingly vivid photography (i.e. the above shot of the humpback whales' spiral of bubbles) but also sequences that leaves one amazed at how they were caught on film, a lot of "South America" and everything with the male oxen in "Europe" being primary examples. The music is grandiose without being over-powering and add a lot to the emotional scenes.

Throughout, the narration entertains, thought-provokes and teaches. One is left to ponder on any issues addressed, and all the information makes a lot of harrowing impact and to me without being preached at. The animals, prey and predator, are a great mix of cute and menacing, a great mix of familiar and rare and are worth rooting for. The more maternal moments in "South America" and "Australia" are very human, as is any competing in the likes of "Asia" and "Europe", without any over-humanising.

Like all other Attenborough documentaries, 'Seven Worlds, One Planet' is so much more than just cute animals in beautiful habitats. It actually pulls no punches and the darker, more intense moments are actually pretty uncompromising. Many will be reaching for the hankies watching the weddell seal sequence ("Antarctica") and the opening of "Asia", biting their nails watching wolves hunting at night and fighting male oxen (both in "Europe"), amazed by the determination and instinct of the puma and dingo mothers, ahhing at any baby animals like the bears in "North America", unsettled by what is said or shown about the environment (the gales and a lot of the final episode "Africa"), amused by competing for mating in "Asia" and the hamster action in "Europe" and shocked by an unexpected jump-scare moment where flinching is guaranteed.

Cannot praise Attenborough himself enough. He delivers the information so sincerely and enthusiastically, without talking down, and he is easily in the top 10 of voices that one can listen to for hours tirelessly.

In summary, wondrous. 10/10

David Attenborough does it again
ebukateo29 October 2019
Its exactly what you would expect from Sir David Attenborough. beautifully shot and it does well to draw you in and hook you leaving emotional at times. now is it at the level of planet earth 2? for me so far it isn't but its very close. you wont be disappointed.

Noticed footage of walrus falling from the cliff in the first episode is the same as footage of walrus falling from our planet episode 2

SEVEN WORLDS,ONE PLANET
0U19 March 2020
Great cinematography and a few interesting facts though we've seen much of it before in the many shows of this variety that have aired before. Not much on the 'ways' and 'hows' of the planet and it's continents, but more of a quick overview of pinpointed areas that then focuses on a few animals in these areas and how they live and survive, especially in the dire situation of deforestation and climate change. (A dark and worrisome theme throughout many episodes). More of a new version of the vintage "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom," than a in-depth series like BBC's 'Planet Earth' or 'Blue Planet.' Though like those, it is narrated by the great David Attenborough. It is listed on TV as season one, so maybe it will benefit from additional seasons that when combined will give us a more thorough overview of our world's continents. I was hoping more for a thorough look into everything about each continent, from their land, the forests, deserts, rivers and climate, to their societies and people. Instead we just get some selected tales of how a selected animal hunts and struggles in about an hour's run time. Still an important series to understand what man is doing wrong to this planet.

Mostly awesome, with some guilt
mickailf20 February 2020
75% of the time, the scenery and animals kept me fascinated and in awe. They also weave the individual animals' stories so well that it makes me hope they overcome whatever obstacles or predators are in the story. Sadly and obviously, not all are winners.

25% is "you should feel guilty because you're changing the climate and if you'd stop then no animals would die any more" which probably won't impress adults. That part may be aimed at eco-focused people, or kids in my view.

David Attenborough's ecological's phase has ruined the man for me.
micael-santos-gerosa20 October 2020
Before I start this painful review, I would like to praise David Attenborough. I adore this man. I've seen all of his major documentaries, from Life on Earth (1979), to Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives (1989), to all his documentary series about plants, birds, mammals, aquatic animals, reptiles, amphibious and arthropods. This man has made me love this planet like no one else. He actually convinced me, through his insightful eye, to read Darwin's Origin of Species. A book that made me even more convinced of the perfection and complexity of our natural world. However, since the subject of climate change became a major topic in our daily lives, his programs have slowly but surely become more political, and less biological. Planet Earth (2006) was probably the first major program where his political and environmental agenda became clear. Since then, his focus on the issue has become excessive. I do not deny climate change or refuse to believe its effect on the world, but this late program is not to the benefit of the movement. I'll give one example, referring to episode 3 (South America). In the episode, there is a moment he talks about South America's dependency on hydroelectric power. He talks about a particular species of bir that lives under Iguazu Falls, beneath the water curtain. Than he goes on length about how the dam can actually, potentially kill of the species every time the Parana river overflows and the dam need to open its gates to release the excess of water. According to him, when that happens, the water curtain becomes to strong, and many of those birds who nest beneath the fall die due to the strong currents. He goes too far with his narration, changing the tune of his voice to show his hurtful feelings about the poor birds. However, if you have two brain cells in your head, you can easily understand how stupid that really is. I am a Brazilian and I know a lot about the history of the construction of Itaipu's dam. When the dam was created the water flow downstream was REDUCED. Iguazu falls was far stronger before the dam's construction. So, if those birds were already nesting below Iguazu they would have suffered with strong waves since immemorial times. The dam actually made their lives easier, because of the reduced water flow. Those birds still pay with their lives during the rainy season, however, after that their lives become easier again. This is one example of Attenborough's emotional manipulation in order to push his agenda and increase his worldwide celebrity status. I must remember you that this is a man I love and I will forever be grateful for his contribution to scientifically awareness. But I cannot condone his BS any longer. If you wish to see this man on his prime I would recommend for you to watch the following programs:

Life on Earth (1979) The Living Planet (1984) Lost Worlds Vanished Lives (1989) The Private Life of Plants (1995) The Life of Birds (1998) The Blue Planet (2001) The Life of Mammals (2002) Life in the Undergrowth (2005) Life in Cold Blood (2008)

This is the man at his best. He has many other great programs that I could recommend, but these are the very best if you enjoy science, evolution and nature. If you wish to see documentaries with amazing footage, but excessive dramatic ecofriendly stuff, then watch Planet Earth (2006), Planet Earth II (2017) and all his big projects since the 2010's.

I was fascinated!
omarhazimjasim6 June 2020
There is no so much media advertisements about it, so I discovered it by coincidence. I watched 4 first episodes one time in a row. David Attenborough always has the same amazing and creative performance while presenting scientific facts through his documentaries. This guy is a gift for humanity. I am so glad he could live this long so far and I hope he can make it much further.

Thank you

Seeing special sights I've never seen before and animals that look amazing and act amazing, & also seeing what mankind is doing to existing species, it's truly needed. 2019 is the year we all finally stepped up for the Earth! Greta Thunberg & this show, I believe will help the Earth get better by inspiring people to start contributing on the fight against deforestation in South America, against plastic usage overall and against humans that simply hurt animals and entire species for their own selfish benefits. I hope you all join the fight, even simple day-to-day choices! Avoid plastic and reduce your meat consumption!

We're all Earthlingies!

After Planet Earth 1 & 2 and Africa one would think BBC couldn't do any better. You'd be wrong. This series is the ultimate nature documentary ever made- you'll see stuff that you've never seen before and in gorgeous 4K clarity. Watch it on the biggest TV possible and it'll leave you breathless.

Every Frame is a wallpaper.
saket-exe4 July 2020
Be ready with your snipping tool because you would want to set everything that you see as a wallpaper. Actually don't do that because that would be a copyright violation. What you should actually do is get hold of original blu-ray of this series and then only watch it. None of the streaming services, in whichever country you are in, will do justice do this series as they greatly reduce the bitrate. It is imperative to have the blu-rays if you want to experience this jawdropping, mesmerising work of an artist(God?) in the utmost detail.

Awesome
vipor-1891623 January 2021
Yep, this was awesome and really upsetting, the amount of times I filled uo was unbelievable.

Here, Dave talks about various wildlife in different countries and each episode = a different country.

I thought it was funny when a Polar bear started playing with an anchor thinking Dave's crew wanted to play, and cute when baby chimpanzees were trying to crack something.

Even Dave was playful in his narrative form, give it a watch

Absolute copy of what was on Netflix!

Hate to leave a bad review but this is just recycled footage and narration that has already been shown on Netflix under 'Our Planet'. Nothing new here, shame on the BBC for making out its a new thing. We have seen it already
