In fact, China used more cement from 2011 to 2013 (6.6 gigatons) than the United States did in all of the 20th century (4.5 gigatons). In 2018, India's Parliament passed more legislation to address corruption in the country. In this new legislation, giving a bribe (except when forced) is an offense that comes with a 7-year prison term, only if it's reported within 7 days.
The first anti-corruption legislation was introduced in Singapore in 1937. The Prevention of Corruption Ordinance (POCO) was enacted during the British colonial rule. The legislation was fairly ineffective as it outlined only three kinds of corrupt behavior including bribery and secret commissions in public and private business. In 1960, new legislation to address problems with the scope of POCO was introduced. This new law, the Prevention of Corruption Act is one of Singapore's key elements in its fight against corruption.
