I am not a fan of Anime television, but I love One Punch Man. The creators of the original 1st season took such a simple concept and absolutely knocked it out of the park, and as far as the writing goes, the creators of S2E1 continue to do that for me. Unfortunately, the animation in this episode has been noticeably downgraded from the previous season, something I find incredibly disappointing. However, it definitely isn't as "god awful" as some people are making it out to be, it just makes me really appreciate how good the animation in the first season was. Overall I was very pleased with the start of the new season and I can't to see how everything plays out as the season continues.

I didnt even want it to succeed the first season .. its kinda unfair to even demand that .. the show is still fresh its very enjoyable to see the hero for fun kicking ass again although it IS unfortunate that its not by MAD HOUSE .. but other then that i cant really hate it .. TOTALLY gonna watch each and every episode with love !💙
The hate is an exaggeration. OPM is still great!

One Punch Man's Second Season starts off with a really great episode that gives us the characters and stories we've missed. While I wouldn't say this is one of OPM's best episodes, it's still pretty great. We get introduced to new characters, and storylines, which all seem to be going in interesting directions, and is still quite funny and witty. Lots of people are complaining about the animation, and while the animation and even overall direction isn't as good as last seasons (because of a studio change) i'd say it's not even below average for most anime. I mean sure it's a little disappointing that there was a drop in animation quality, and overall style, but damn the animation is still good, I seriously can't believe all the hate over animation. Ignoring the animation, the series still seems to be really solid. Animation isn't the most important part in an animated series is, and if you're watching this show solely for the animation I'm afraid you're watching it for the wrong reason. Animation only comes after the story and characters are written. If an Anime has mediocre animation, but great writing, it's a great anime. If an anime has amazing animation, but mediocre writing, it is not a good anime.
Overall while this wasn't one of OPM's best episodes, it's still seriously good and entertaining. The animation is still solid, and the writing is as witty as ever.
8.5/10

I knew that the director and production team of this anime was changed after the perfect first season and I shouldn't expect too much of it anymore...Because , yu know, first season's director was the director of Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood , the best anime ever!!! but after watching this episode , I'm so happy Because Saitama and One Punch Man are still interesting for me and the new director and his team have surprsing stuff to show and say..
poor animation and direction

Absolutely Top Class Again

Absolutely fantastic anime. The story design is spectacular and it is setting up a thrilling series. There are always going to be critics, but if you watch it with a critical eye, you are only going to find critical things. If you watch it to listen, both with your ears and with your mind, you will find out just how good this is.
A great villain is set up with a very interesting motivation, and Saitama demonstrates his moral stance and intellect very powerfully. This is a great second episode to a brilliant start to the second season. Don't be fooled by those wanting the ending and the big fight or the grand finale in EVERY episode. This is a wonderfully written show. Let yourself enjoy it.

In an effort to save money they lost their audience

As the season continues it is clear of the appalling embarrassment that OPM has become. It not only looks cheap it carries itself more like an action anime rather than the amazing comedy of season one, this tonal shift destroys the basis of the show and totally ruins the franchise. I am truly disappointed.

Salvaged by its undeniably superior first season

The Good. The characters are infinity charming with an excellent comedic lead and superb supporting cast. The Story is basically a set-up for the season with the introduction of the fan favourite King being a highlight.
The Bad. The presentation is mediocre at best and laughable at worst. Animation looks fairly unimpressive, CGI has an unnatural gloss that is jarring against the more vibrant yet muted colour pallet making it jarring and unpleasant to look at, SFX look cheap, and the music is non-existent, being drowned out by the sound effects and voices leading to a mix-bag of sound design overall. In summary, it is a tragic downgrade from the first season.
TL:DR - If you liked the first season, importantly the characters and charm of the comedy, then you will most likely like this season. However, the presentation may ruin the experience and the pre-existing manga outclasses in as the best way to enjoy the story presented by the new season.

Mediocre and embarrassing

Season 2 unfortunately has a new director and production team... The animation quality has noticeably dropped off, particularly the fight scenes. Some dialogue scenes are just still images, where they didn't bother to even animate the lips moving. The studio decided to make a quick buck, so they've lost my interest. I'll just read the manga from now on
Not as good as season 1

Warning: Spoilers
Not as good as season 1 but still the story is good, the only problem about season 2 is the animation the metal are glossy, action scenes has alot of repeated actions and its shaky, the faces are not even animated properly, not to mention it's not only the animation but also the sound FX I bet after watching episodes like where metal bat fights centichoro i bet you can hear a gun sound effect when the bat is hitting, not to mention the team that animated season 2 skipped some manga panels, although with bad animation and sound FX it's still decent, the story and the jokes though are still entertaining like season 1
