Satisfying, yet slightly underwhelming finale.
eaj-943-87490523 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I think that this finale wrapped things up quite nicely, with enough left open for a season 2, but I can't help but say that this finale was a bit underwhelming. First, the fight scenes are a pain to watch. So many cuts, horrible choreography, feels like I'm watching that scene in Taken 3 where there's 8 separate takes of Liam Neeson jumping over a fence. Just as fight scenes begin, the attention is taken somewhere else while the fight scene is happening off camera, only to cut back for a few seconds for some bad fighting.

John Walker kind of randomly walks on screen at one point, with no build up at all. The one bald guy from The Winter Soldier is in here, but serves no purpose whatsoever. And Karli, the mediocre villain of the month, does nothing memorable either, although SPOILERS.......... (her death is hilarious to watch.)

Bucky is Bucky, always great to watch, gets to make amends. Sharon plays an important role that surprised me, but Sam is really the one who shines in this finale, by becoming the new Captain America we've been wanting him to be. Sam in the new suits rocks. All the Flight scenes were great and is what kept me enjoying some of the action scenes. And it was great to finally see Bradley get the honor and respect he deserves. Overall a pretty solid finale, but nothing too amazing.

Underwhelming Villainy ... But the Captain is here.
eelcostuy23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Flag Smashers have been underwhelming the entire series. And now it's clear their motivation has not been more than a plot device. Which is fine, but the gaping hole left by Karli cannot be filled by Batroc or the Power Broker.

Though it feels that these Disney+ series are really meant to set up the post-blip universe, they do one thing very well and that's character development and storytelling. The far most interesting thing here was the struggles of the titular characters and the path they have been set on. And I guess, this can be said about John Walker too!.

And for the fan service: damn that suit looks fine and straight out of the comics! Can't wait to see Sam doing his thing in the next big crossover movie on the big screen.

So the new Cap is here, and in a convincing way. The storyline that touched me the most was Isiah Bradley's. Sam has the right mindset and mentality to step in Steve's shoes now. He just wants to set things right. Make the right decision. And to be honest, he found his way to do so. Can't wait to see what's next!

And Jahns, if you read this. Don't forget to give me a shout-out this time.

Captain America and the Winter Soldier
maxglen23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
A beautiful episode filled with action, emotion and significant narrative beats which will ripple through the MCU for years to come. I cried multiple times during this episode, seeing Sam in his comic accurate Captain America costume, John's redemption, Isaiah's memorial, Bucky's confession... the list goes on. It was great to see John become to true US Agent as well. Seeing the end credits with the title "Captain America and the Winter Soldier" sent chills down my spine and a tear to my eye. Here's to hoping the rumours of a second season are true.

'Power Broker' twist - the only let down!
imptsir23 April 2021
I loved what they did to Sam and Walker in this episode. I really wanted to see more of Walker, the ending made sure that it's gonna happen in the future. We have our 'Cap' now - loved the way they did that.

The only letdown of this episode was the Power Broker twist, i mean they literally gave us a lot in first five episodes about Power Broker. It took the fun out of it - I was like dude i wanted something else to happen. But let's see where all this leads. Overall a GOOD (not great) finale!

Very Comic Book accurate
jettcoka23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Seeing Falcon in the actual Comic book Captain America suit and Isaiah Bradley getting his recognition for what he did in the comic book Truth: Red, White and Black, was awesome. A little less talk was needed, but still an awesome episode. Also wasn't completely sold on Sharon Carter being the Power Broker especially after her speech in Civil War.

Obvious doesn't mean bad
ethanl-6172723 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You could see this episode coming a miles away but that doesn't make it bad. The only take away which drops it from a 9-10 is that the power broker reveal was too obvious; would've loved to have seen Sharon Carter as maybe a double agent instead of being the power broker herself. However if they do green light a season two, which I think it's possible, we could see Sharon redeem herself and maybe even find out she isn't the real power broker. Carly dying was great because it gave her cause more meaning, and having Zemo indirectly yet directly kill at the end was perfect. Love how Bucky absolutely mowed through the soaliders and wasn't nerfed like in the John walker fight. In all great episode only small nit picks that drop it down to a 9.

Not a bad finish, but should have been better
snoozejonc23 April 2021
Bucky and Sam confront the Flag Smashers.

This is a reasonably strong finish that rounds off the character arcs well, presents plenty of heroic spectacle, but for me it trowels the social messages on a bit too thickly and in mostly uninspired ways.

The plot is one long action sequence followed by some emotional exchanges of dialogue that allow characters to complete their series arcs. This structure just about works but I think the action scenes drag on for marginally too long and get a bit distracting at times.

What kills all momentum and feels very clunky and out of place is a passage of dialogue written for one of the main characters. I have all the time in the world for the themes explored in this show, but for it to all come down to something as cheesy and clichéd as a preachy monologue is quite disappointing. It is so drawn out that it makes the actor sound he is giving an overly long Oscar acceptance speech.

All the scenes that follow are much better. Both Sam and Bucky finish off with some solid character moments, particularly the one involving Isiah Bradley.

The visuals are strong, with some great effects and action choreography.

All performances are great with Sabastian Stan and Carl Lumbly standing out. Erin Kellyman is better in this one but her character is largely forgettable.

One step forward, two steps back
marc-555-82688523 April 2021
Somewhere in TFATWS there is a pretty decent story trying to get out. Unfortunately it is beaten down by sub-standard plotting and some seriously poor character development. For every high (and there are some) there are some pretty stupid lapses of logic. This final episode is a total mess and the big reveals flop like fish on a river bank. WandaVision was fun and interesting, TFATWS is sloppy and poorly plotted. Some of the directorial choices are also very questionable. This is a real shame because the are some interesting themes being discussed here.

Really great episode

Big highlight was Cap's monologue about misrepresentation in politics, and I cried of course when Isaiah saw his exhibit in the museum. Better than WV finale in my opinion. Great show, hoping for season 2!

Disappointing ending to a disappointing show
alkhawammarie23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This whole show was extremely disappointing, and I wasn't even very excited to watch it, the writers did such a poor job with this show, it's shocking how they thought this was good enough to be released.

Furthermore this episode was extremely rushed, you're instantly shoved into some very mediocre action, John Walker was absolutely dreadful in this episode. Marvel decided to go with the cliche "bad guy does something good at the end" plot that was just unnecessary. The reveal of Sharon Carter being the villain was incredibly underwhelming, Karli's death was bland and didn't get a reaction out of most people. The credits scene just felt pointless.

Overall this show was a chore to watch and the recent announcement of a Captain America 4 with the same show runner as The Falcon And The Winter Soldier doesn't get me excited at all. Just give us Daredevil back please.

Full of cliches, forgettable villain, and more political garbage.
allkillahnofillah23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
1) To no one's surprise, Sharon is the Power Broker. Not only this is stupid, but this is also a character assassination from the Sharon that we see in Captain America's The Winter Soldier & Civil War. This is like in the comics where Captain America first utters the infamous 'Hail Hydra'. It's like she turned bad for the sake-of-turning-bad kind of dumb.

2) Karli is one of the most forgettable villains in the MCU or superhero universe. Full stop. I don't even have the energy to write a long complaint about her; she's that forgettable.

3) Look, I get it, he's Captain America and he's black. Do I need to be reminded how hard it is to be Captain America while also being a black man for every 5 minutes?

Every time Sam saves someone, people are cheering him. This reminds me of Spider-Man 3's level of people cheering. Not to mention how corny it is to have someone yell "That's Black Falcon" "No! That's Captain America" with a straight face.

With all the cheering and celebrating every time Sam even breathes, who is his speech directed to? Certainly not the people in the show. Somehow, I think the writer or director is trying to break the 4th wall, criticizing the people that didn't agree that a black man can be Captain America or why Bucky doesn't become Captain America but it's so stupid and pretentious to have that in your face every 5 minutes.

4) The helicopter chase scene is overstaying its welcome. Like really overstaying.

5) I thought this series could be something special like the Winter Soldier film but it's not. It's forgettable.

6) The only interesting part of the show is when Wyatt Russell is on. But even that becomes awkward when he suddenly spewing one-liners only for the cops to arrest the villain's crew. How dumb is that?

Best episode of the shown
reyesenyer23 April 2021
The falcon and the winter soldier overall is one of the best show right now if not the best, this shows brings everything that America is right now and how a black man has to struggle and how they have beat every odd. This ending is satisfying.

Another solid 8 in the series, it was a good finale with some good action. The story was warped up nicely with a little taste or 2 left as marvel love to do, happy with this finale!!

Captain America and the White Wolf
wetmars23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I am going to say it. This was better than WandaVision. I am not criticizing here. It was a love letter to sitcoms in the past. This had a stronger finale. That speech was beautiful. Crazy loads of action, emotions, humor, and a satisfying conclusion. I had one little problem when Karli said: "stay down." Cap should have said, "I can do this all day." Speaking about that, Sam's new outfit looks RADICAL! U. S Agent's outfit is astounding, just like the comics! This was a great show, perfect example of a Marvel TV Show. I want to talk about the emotional stuff. Isaiah was done beautifully as well Bucky apologizing to that old dude, wonderful. The Isaiah museum scene reminded me of the post-credit scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Wings with a Shield, just think about it. To those people complaining that the show was too political, that is the point! It's meant to be political. Sharon Carter was hella badass, earned the ending pretty well. I wonder what the post-credit scene is setting up for...

As for Bucky, he's just Bucky, kicking ass with his Vibranium arm. I like that moment during the phone call between him and Karli. For John, he is the definition of brutal. He is still pissed about his partner, Battlestar. That line of Captain America on the Moon was funny. My favorite episode. We will see how Loki will do in the next two months. I cannot wait for it! The shots were out-of-this-world, especially that shot in the stairwell, Sam chasing the Chopper, and the action fight sequence in black and red. It reminded me of Black Widow.

Of course, the show has some flaws like almost all of the Flag-Smasher people were underdeveloped, but Karli was the most developed one.

10/10.

"They never ask why..."
the_professor53023 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Okay, let me start off by addressing the "this episode was too woke" crybaby snowflakes on the right who think that acknowledging the bigotry and racial issues that still exist in the "land of the free" is being too "woke."

Again, like the last episode, everything Sam said to the politicians was 100% true. Seeing Sam grill those corrupt, bigoted, hypocritical politicians was one of the highlights for me.

Again, telling our political leaders that they can "do better" is not only true, but it was fun to see them squirm.

Acknowledging Isiah's contributions to this country, and giving him a much deserved part of the museum, was spectacular! I hate to say it, but we don't talk enough about African Americans that served during World War II to fight Nazism, only to return home to the Jim Crow South and be denied entry into a diner.

So again, for the "it's too woke" crybabies, go watch Act of Valor or something if you want to have mindless "America is always in the right" entertainment.

NOW....on to the bad, the REAL BAD.

1. Was there a villain I was supposed to care about? Julia Louis Dreyfus, still not sure who the hell she's supposed to be. Is SHE a villain? IDK. Don't really care. She's not that interesting. Carly and her goons were certainly not that interesting, and it kind of sucks that they were considered the main baddies. Very boring. Power Broker...sorry but Agent Carter as the Power Broker doesn't really get me. This was the problem with Wanda Vision....why can't we have a big, interesting baddie? Half the episode was Falcon, Bucky, and Walker foiling Carly's plans, and the rest was just kind of a let down.

2. Boring. Once Carly and her goons were dealt with, why keep watching? Nothing really interesting happened after that besides Sam and Isiah. That was a beautiful moment, but that was it. Zemo didn't do anything, Walker barely did anything, Dreyfus was kind of there, Power Broker just talked about making some deals, really uneventful ending.

3. Most of the action was Sam chasing a helicopter piloted by a kid. I just don't find that interesting, he should have taken that out in like 5 seconds.

Overall, just more Disney sucking you dry and giving you watered down, tame, basic entertainment. This show has been a disappointment to me overall. It's not exciting. The villains are boring, the action is limited, and not really that engaging, and the characters outside of Bucky, Sam, and Walker, are not that interesting. If all you have are interesting heroes, but no interesting villains, what good is that?

Again, Disney and Marvel, figure out what you're trying to do here. Because honestly, it just seems like they want your cash and that's it. It's kind of like OnlyFans right now...someone charges you 20 bucks for a 3 minute video that you think will be good, only to find out it's something you could see for free on any other site. I am cancelling my Disney+ because it's not worth the money to have shows that are this consistently dull and pointless.

I don't think I'll be watching Loki, or at least I won't be watching it every week. I'll just wait until it all is available and then binge it.

Sam said to the politicians "You can do better." Well, Disney...so can you.

Well... I mean. Yeah...
Wililjam24 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not quite sure what to think about this. It felt extremely rushed for some reason. The new suit didn't get an introduction, it was just thrown in there as if he was wearing his old suit. I was expecting a grand opening of his new suit, but nope.

The fighting scenes were really... underwhelming. Sam using his new suit was cool, but that was it. Seeing Bucky get beat down is just annoying to watch at this point. He could fight off hundreds of aliens in Infinity War and Endgame, but not one (singular) supersoldier in this show? I get that heroes need a kryptonite, but make it make sense and stay consistent.

Sam's speech felt very... forced. And I mean, speeches meant for millions to see are forced by nature, but I felt as though it went on for a tad too long.

Also, why is no one questioning Sharon about anything? Oh, she has lots of money, okay. Oh, she's with Karli and Batroc, okay. It was as though the writers intentionally made Sam and Bucky a bit stupid in this episode.

Another also, why in the whole hell is Sam and Bucky best friends with Walker all of a sudden? Kill one, save two, and your sins are paid for? Like, what were they thinking? The PR management for Sam and Bucky, if they had one, would be freaking out and would probably order them to stay the hell away from Walker after what he did. It doesn't make any logical sense.

Yet another also. The scenes where Bucky tells Yori about his son was awful. The writing was stale and, as the kids would say, 'cringe'.

Honestly, this was a weak finale. There were some good parts to it though. What they did with Isaiah was good, what they did with Zemo was funny... and those were the parts that stood out for me.

I'm going to give the episode a 6.5/10. Truly a disappointment.

Brilliant episode wrapping up many things and setting the stage for more.

One of the best episodes in one of the best TV shows in History.

Sam is definitely going to be seen next in "Armor Wars". So is Sharon and maybe Val.

"Captain America and the Winter Soldier"

Marvel & Malcolm Spellman, you got that TV show right. Congratulations!

Great action, but fizzled a little
deadendken23 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I loved the action stuff in the episode. I'm so excited to see Sam be more front-and-center in these battles from now on because he's a badass.

As for the Sharon twist, it was utterly disappointing to me, because it was an easy guess. I wish they had been less upfront about her situation, then it wouldn't have been quite so obvious.

The whole Flagsmashers storyline dragged for a long time and at this point I wasn't really all that concerned about what happened to them, so that was another weak point.

Overall, not my favorite MCU item, but it made me excited for future projects, which is a good thing.

Too many things didn't make sense.
Ashitaka13725 April 2021
I didn't get the end title "Captain America and The Winter Soldier", since i thought that the point of Bucky's journey in this show was to get rid of his Winter Soldier identity because of the horrible things Hydra made him do under that name. And that's just one of the many inconsistencies in this show. And also; they talked about being a Black American superhero, like it's a completely new concept in the MCU! The majority of the highest ranked bad ass American soldiers characters who are part of The Avengers in the MCU, were already black people: Director Fury is literally the mastermind behind The Avengers, James Rhodes/War Machine/Iron Patriot is the only soldier to ever pilot an Iron Man suit, and Sam Wilson/Falcon is THE exceptional soldier in a secret prototype unit. As a black man, i found that this subject could have been much better addressed; but here it felt(to me) simplified to the point that it didn't feel very genuine and part of the established universe. The TV show "Marvel Agents Of S. H. I. E. L. D", with its multiracial cast, addressed the race issue in a much more natural and genuine way; in a few episodes.

REALLY GOOD SHOW
Jqkilla926 September 2021
This is the best MCU Disney plus show so far. The story and the action is the best out of the 3. This had a real strong story hope that people will get and understand the message and see another people's perspective and reality. Love what marvel showed here. Action was great loved the flying scenes with sam he looks good as cap man. You can't tell me a flying captain America isn't cool. Action in ep4 and 5 was great and. We were introduced to 2 new young avengers. Sharon character was developed. Everything with zero was great. Villans were great giving a different perspective. Don't know how you can't like this as soon as it's over it makes you want to watch it again, thx for reading, God bless.

This was the best episode in my opinion, the reveals were mind blowing, the action was amazing and it was balanced by the compelling storytelling too. Perfectly balanced as all things should be. I wish too see more of these amazing characters. John Walker was my highlight of this series. Absolutely loved it!
