  Andrew Mendoza : [handing the phone to her]  But I think it's lucky for all of us that Emily Prentiss doesn't take nights off.

• Emily Prentiss : Hey. How do you feel about breakfast?

  [cut to her apartment the next morning; the doorbell rings] 

  Emily Prentiss : It's open!

  Andrew Mendoza : [entering]  Hey. Good morning.

  Emily Prentiss : Hey. So, contrary to previous experience, I can actually cook.

  Andrew Mendoza : Oh, wow. I was looking forward to some leftover pizza, but, you know, it's all right.

• Emily Prentiss : Your instincts were correct.

  Andrew Mendoza : About what?

  Emily Prentiss : You know, about those times before. I was blowing you off. I mean, I did have to work, but, um, I could have made the time. And the truth is, it's just hard in this line of work. It's hard to get close to someone. And maybe I have some scars that haven't totally healed.

  Andrew Mendoza : Yeah. So do I. That's okay, right? 'Cause somebody pretty wise once told me a person who doesn't have any scars hasn't lived. So I'm wearing mine like a badge of honor.

  [he leans to kiss her, but they're interrupted by a timer going off] 

  Andrew Mendoza : Well, sounds like something's ready.

  Emily Prentiss : You know what? Let it burn, because I know this great pizza place that delivers.
