I love biographies. Wasn't sure what to expect, but after watching it, thought it contradicted itself constantly, and was more of 'poor Mariah, not a diva but a woman with a diagnosis'. It felt more of an excuse to make her seem not responsible for her erratic behaviour.
She says herself in an interview about her failed film 'Glitter' that she's been acting all her life - since she was young, and wants to prove she can act. Yet reports on the set of her unprofessional behaviour tell us differently. If she'd been acting - does she mean professionally? She should know that you are a professional when it comes to making a film.
Mariah states, she felt I didn't fit in as a child, was not special, not pretty and didn't make friends. Yet in another clip we're told she was popular, make friends easily and sang with her best friend. The stories from people who knew her just seemed to be excusing her behaviour, which is understandable, but stories from others told a different story. Did she really play her records when her twins were being born by c section? So what? Not sure why the brother was part of the film, he brother states her paranoia was real - a car was following them - er driving along a busy road there would be cars behind them.
I didn't really take too much notice of the 'stories', she just seemed to be someone who had a good voice, made a lot of money - made even more money when being dumped by Virgin for £28 million!! The call to 911 was the result of a temper tantrum rather than an episode - but who knows.
All I remember from the film is seeing a woman with too much money, too much time on her hands and one who seemed to like skimpy clothes and having her two best friends out on show at all times. Even in the latest video, when she's older and larger, the two friends are there, popping out for all to see.
