I'm not sure how the rating is at 5 when all the reviews are 9/10. Show is funny, thought-provoking, insightful, well-thought out, and the characters are beautiful! Well done Lena!

Really finds it's footing in season 2

Loved the storyline development and nuances of the characters. Season one is a bit more chaotic and clunky, but I tried season 2 on a whim and wound up binge watching it. My boyfriend also really enjoyed and found it interesting. I'd say maybe skip to the second season if you're finding it hard to get into season 1. Anywho I'm looking forward to a third season 🙏🏽

Why the low rating?

Given the many POSITIVE written reviews left for the show compared to NO written reviews left for each episode themselves (only poor ratings) it's safe to say no one wants to give this show credit and want IMDB users to think this show is not worth watching. I'm here to tell you it is. Watching this show is easy! It's that good. I love how the characters are far from perfect, and can keep it real with each other, make up after a fight, be there for each other, give each other tough love. It's so real. The dialogue, the deep convos that come out of no where, the reality of dating and sexuality. I love Hattie! She engages everyone around her, even if it's a nonsexual relationship. She always has lines!!! But I guess that's why she's a writer lol. I love it! People obviously don't want to give BET credit where credit is due! THIS IS A GREAT SHOW!

I love seeing young talented black women with natural hair on TV. The shows music is fantastic. The experiences they are showing are so true too life.

This could and should have been a whole lot better given the talent of its stars and writing team. What happened? Too many cooks? 'LA Bore' would be a more appropriate title.

I love this show. Comedy mixed in with realness and relatable characters that you're rooting for. It's like an updated version of the show "Girlfriends". Hattie does a great job playing the lead.

Funny, everyday lives of friends and coworkers in Hollywood's film/tv industry. The script and music of the series are well thought-out, and the general aesthetic/directing is vibrant, aptly matching many of the show's characters. The recurring old Hollywood music references are an interesting detail.

Start of a great show

I don't understand the low score or the low viewership of the show, as I find it to be another refreshing show I've seen, especially in these times. I find the characters relatable and the writing is truly funny. I love the way the show is filmed and the story lines are interesting and entertaining. The only critique I have is that I believe the show can be more in-depth with the characters. I find myself asking questions about them and wanting to know more about them and how they got here. This can obviously be solved with more show, so it is not much of a critique than it is a hope the show goes on. I think this show can go really far and I believe with more views it will get the ratings it deserves. It is a great show.

There are some haters up in these ratings - I really enjoyed this show, it's funny and refreshing. Funny characters, great soundtrack, sorta gave me InsecureHBO vibes. Patiently waiting on season 2

This is a great show. So glad that we don't accept shows like Girls as the only narrative of people in their twenties. The characters were all very believable and the writing was strong. This is the best show i've seen in a long time.

Hilarious

I just binged watched 7 episodes and really enjoyed them all! The characters are hilarious! Jonica T. Gibbs character had me laughing out loud! I had never heard of this show because I do not watch BET. I'm more of a Netflix, Prime Video, Showtime, HBO type of gal but I stumbled across this series while looking for a new series to watch on a rainy day.

Congratulatins Lena Waithe! I'm fifty but lovin' the twenties characters! Reminiscent of days gone by with clever humorous writing with a twinge of common sense. It gives realism new meaning in television and a wonderful addition to BET, which I waited for this type of sitcom from them. PLEASE greenlight for at least 3 more seasons :) Kudos to excellent actors! And thank you for Vanessa & Rick!!! :)

I'm way out of my twenties but I live this show! It is funny and relatable. There is something to love about each one of these ladies. Give it a chance. It's great to see more diversity on tv.

The most hopeful series for years

This is the first TV I have seen for ages that doesn't make the United States look depressing, confrontational and violent. The drama is real drama rather than theatrical. The jokes are about life, not about punchlines. And it inspires feelings of connection and hope rather than fear and anger.

It's not for everyone, but if you get it, you've got it good.
