For many years, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has remained a tactically competitive shooter that tries to remain fresh. With every season, players expect new playable operators, map changes, and quality-of-life updates.
However, the next season (New Blood) is doing things a bit differently, and players are going to have a new range of updates coming their way, which isn’t making the community too happy, especially when Ubisoft plans to ask for investment when selling the premium season pass.
Rainbow Six Siege Will Now Have a Monthly Membership Option for $10 Years later, Ubisoft is still finding new ways to get players to spend money on the game.

It’s a sad day for The Division fans, as Ubisoft has given the previously announced spin-off the axe. Revealed as part of the company’s earnings call this morning, it has decided to move on from the franchise onto “bigger opportunities.”
The game had been delayed since its announcement in 2021. The first and second one received 80 and 82 respectively on Metacritic, and fans eagerly awaited a new addition to the series.
Ubisoft Gives the Division Spin-off the Axe
The Division‘s upcoming title is confirmed to have been canceled.
Tom Clancy’s The Division and its sequel were handled by Massive Entertainment, a studio under Ubisoft. Heartland was being handled partly by another Ubisoft studio, Red Storm Entertainment.
IGN shared a statement from the company regarding the game’s cancellation:
After careful consideration, we have made the tough call to halt development on Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, effective immediately.

The last couple of Star Wars-based games were pretty decent, including both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The only thing that fans really didn’t love was the recently launched Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection from Aspyr Games. There is another very long-anticipated title from this franchise from Ubisoft, Star Wars Outlaws.
This title could be closer than you think; thanks to the South Korean rating board, this action-adventure game is just a couple of months away from being released. Outlaws will be the first Star Wars game developed by this company.

Steven Lightfoot Developing ‘Scot Harvath’ Books For Sony Pictures Television Under New Overall Deal
Exclusive: Steven Lightfoot has been tapped to develop a series adaptation of the Scot Harvath books from New York Times bestseller Brad Thor, under a relatively fresh overall deal with Sony Pictures Television that has previously gone unreported, Deadline has learned.
We’re told that the deal for scripted drama development across cable and streaming came together last year, ahead of the WGA strike. As previously reported, Lightfoot is also currently in business with the studio as co-showrunner alongside Oren Uziel of Sony Pictures Television’s untitled Spider-Man Noir series, based on the Marvel comic, for MGM+ and Prime Video.
In addition to scripting the as-yet-untitled Scot Harvath series, Lightfoot is exec producing alongside Thor; the John Wick franchise’s Chad Stahelski and his colleagues Alex Young and Jason Spitz at 87Eleven Entertainment; Shaun Redick & Yvette Yates Redick of Impossible Dream Entertainment; Scott Cross & Sean Cross of Cross Pictures,...

The second full week of February was a big moment for streamer-centric award shows. On February 14, Hispanic and Latino creators came together for the Premios Esland, an annual celebration led by Spanish streamer TheGrefg. Three days later, QTCinderella took the stage at The Wiltern in Los Angeles for the third edition of the Streamer Awards, which she has produced and co-hosted each year since 2022.
The latter of those two shows hauled in more traffic on Twitch. According to Streams Charts, the 2024 Streamer Awards hit a peak of more than 645,000 concurrent viewers. Less than half of that audience watched QTCinderella’s broadcast on her personal Twitch account; co-streams from big names like Jynxzi and CaseOh (both of whom were nominated for Streamer of the Year) added thousands of viewers to the total audience.

Jake Gyllenhaal is taking a long-awaited stab at action superstardom with his upcoming Prime Video remake of Road House hitting the streamer on March 21st (although it should really be going to theaters). Dev Patel also is making a promising attempt at the genre with his amazing looking Monkey Man hitting theaters in April. Not too long ago, we wrote a piece of JoBlo that asked who the next big action icons might be, and indeed, some fresh blood being worked into the genre is long overdue. Gyllenhaal and Patel both seem like great new additions to the canon, but who else could make it in the genre?
Here are a few stars we think have what it takes to be action heroes:
Zac Efron:
I would have thought you were nuts if you had told me a decade ago that Zac Efron would become an Arnold Schwarzenegger-style muscleman as he got older.

After “Creed III” grossed $275 million at the worldwide box office and established Michael B. Jordan as a formidable director, there was never much real doubt about whether the “Rocky” spin-off series would continue. The biggest question was whether Jordan would return to the director’s chair or use his newfound filmmaking clout to pursue other projects.
According to longtime “Rocky” producer Irwin Winkler, Jordan will in fact be back to helm the still-untitled “Creed 4.” In a series of video clips shared by Deadline, Winkler offered an update on the sequel’s strike-delayed development and Jordan’s creative involvement.
“We’re planning to do ‘Creed 4’ right now. We think we have a really good story, a really good plot,” Winkler said, adding that the project should go into pre-production roughly one year from now.

MacieJay was on track to become a veterinarian when he injured his foot and found himself stuck at home.
His injury was “pretty bad,” he says, and not what he wanted to be dealing with after completing a bachelor’s in biology. His plan had been to transfer on to veterinary school, but he couldn’t hike around a campus with his foot the way it was. And, on top of that, he was an avid skateboarder, so his usual top hobby was off the table, too.
Luckily, he had one more hobby he loved: gaming.
He’s been a gamer his whole life, he says, and started playing on Nintendo systems as a kid.

Now that the writers strike is over, Hollywood studios are gearing up to get production rolling again — once the other half of this year’s dual strike, the ongoing SAG-AFTRA walkout, is finally settled.
From “Star Trek” to “Superman: Legacy” to “Abbott Elementary” to “Wednesday,” every studio, network and streamer has priority film and TV projects that they hope to fast-track back into development or production. Audiences cannot survive on reruns alone. Had the strike lasted a few weeks longer, the 2023-24 broadcast season would have become even more dependent on unscripted shows and programs imported from streaming platforms and overseas markets.
Several big movie projects could see preproduction resume quickly. Paramount is hoping to have writers fine-tuning scripts for its planned reboot of “Star Trek” and its adaptation of Tom Clancy’s “Rainbow Six.” And Warner Bros. would dearly love to see Matt Reeves hunched over his computer,...

Game genres go in and out of fashion all the time, but for over 30 years, first-person shooters have been one of the industry’s most reliable sources for blockbuster experiences that often help dictate the future of the medium.
There’s no one element that makes Fps games so brilliant, and that is, ironically enough, exactly what makes them brilliant. The history of the genre is written by developers who used a certain point of view and a gun or two as the basis for a variety of experiences that continue to surprise us even after we told ourselves that we’ve seen it all.
Those are the games we’re here to celebrate today. The best first-person shooters ever may have inspired each other, but each ultimately brings something special to the table that helps it stand out among some considerable competition. Many offer something different, but the one...

Jack Ryan is back for its fourth but final season only on Amazon Prime. It’s sad to say goodbye to such a great, interesting spy thriller, but let’s keep brooding for later as we gear up for another notorious scheme that Jack has to dig up. Speaking of which, in every season, there has been a sinister operation at play that Ryan has to uncover and bring an end to. As cliched as it may sound, the show is famous for showcasing realistic, deep conspiracies with diplomacy as their backbone. The reality of how deep things run in the world, as addressed by the show, is what makes it one of the best in the genre. Of course, America stands supreme, but that’s only because the creator himself, the great Tom Clancy, had a great interest in the US military forces although he never got to serve...

Plot: The fourth-and-final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds the titular character on his most dangerous mission yet: facing an enemy both foreign and domestic. The 1990 film adaptation of Tom Clancy's "The Hunt for Red October" is a sturdy, tension-filled submarine thriller featuring fine work from Sean Connery and Alec Baldwin. As an author, Clancy was known for writing potboiler action stories set in the world of the military and he was especially known for his attention to detail. As a director, filmmaker John McTiernan was known for delivering successful blockbusters like "Predator" and "Die Hard" by entertainingly establishing the geography of the action and letting his actors make magic within those spaces.
But when McTiernan tried to take a realistic approach to the undersea elements of "The Hunt for Red October," Paramount executives shut him down by stepping in, taking the film away from one visual effects company, and handing it to the team at Industrial Light and Magic (Ilm) in order to replace the look McTiernan wanted with something more conventional.

Universal’s CinemaCon presentation Wednesday night included an extended look at DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls Band Together,” due in theaters Nov. 17.
The plot, concerning Branch’s estranged brother coming into Branch and Poppy’s lives, isn’t that different from “Despicable Me 3.” That said, nobody goes to a “Trolls” movie for the plot. It’s all about the psychedelic musical mind melt that’s also super kid-friendly.
Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake took to the stage to reveal a never-before-seen musical clip from the movie. The footage starts the same as the theatrical trailer, with Poppy and Branch going to a wedding and wondering if they too should tie the knot. We meet Branch’s lost-lost and estranged brother and then the trio are whisked away to rescue the other captive brothers. That leads to the usual colorful adventures, including a brief detour into 2-D animation.

Jordan-directed boxing pic Creed III for Amazon/MGM, Jordan’s Outlier Society will team with the Mission: Impossible franchise’s Christopher McQuarrie to produce Iron Curtain, a new action thriller in early development at Amazon Studios.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. But McQuarrie and Emmy winner Erik Jendresen (Band of Brothers) will handle the rewrites on McQuarrie’s original screenplay. Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo will produce for Outlier Society, which has had a first-look film deal and overall TV deal with Amazon since 2021.
McQuarrie penned the script for Iron Curtain back in 2003 and while he initially set up the property with Intermedia, rights later transferred to Resurgence Media Group, where they remained for years. Rightly so, director Chad Stahelski is in high demand after the success of "John Wick: Chapter 4." The last film in the action franchise (for now) has already amassed over $150 million worldwide and is standing strong with a rating of 94% over at Rotten Tomatoes. Stahelski is currently in rarified air, with multiple projects lining up quickly that will allow him to take a step back from the intricate world of assassins he helped create.
It was recently announced that Stahelski is set to direct the next Tom Clancy adaptation, "Rainbow Six," starring Michael B. Jordan, a project he's actively developing. Few, if any, stunt doubles go on to direct their A-list counterparts in a string of blockbusters, but that’s been the curious trajectory of Chad Stahelski. The exceptionally fit filmmaker, who stood in for Keanu Reeves in the first Matrix movie before becoming the trilogy’s martial arts coordinator, has now collaborated with the star for each movie in the John Wick franchise — the latest of which, John Wick: Chapter 4, lands in theaters March 24.

Michael B. Jordan is “corny” no more.
The “Creed III” director-star recognized a former classmate on the red carpet for the film’s premiere. “Morning Hustle” host Lore’l attended high school with Jordan in Newark, New Jersey, and previously admitted to teasing Jordan on the “Undressing Room” podcast.

Lore’l’s co-host Dominique added that Jordan seemed like a “nice, corny guy.”

As Derek Zoolander might put it, releasing films in theaters is so hot right now. Channing Tatum’s “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” topped the weekend box office with 8.2 million in just 1,500 theaters, with a likely upswing arriving by Valentine’s Day — not bad for a movie that was never meant for the big screen.
The Steven Soderbergh-directed male stripper threequel is the highest-profile example of 2023’s buzziest Hollywood trend: releasing movies in movie theaters instead of on streaming. Three other Warner Bros. features, “House Party,” “Evil Dead Rise” and “Blue Beetle,” initially greenlit by ex-WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar for HBO Max, are getting a theatrical window courtesy of Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.
“We switched our strategy, which was focused on building a streaming platform, to one that is focused on each film,” Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution told TheWrap. They aren’t the only ones.

Three other Warner Bros. features, “House Party,” “Evil Dead Rise” and “Blue Beetle,” initially greenlit by ex-WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar for HBO Max, are getting a theatrical window courtesy of Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav.

Paramount’s high-flying adaptation of Tom Clancy novel Rainbow Six has found its writers.
Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, who co-created the 2013 British crime drama Run, has been tapped to write the action thriller that has Michael B. Jordan starring and Chad Stahelski directing.
In addition to staring, Jordan is producing with Elizabeth Raposo via the duo’s Outlier Society banner. Also producing are Akiva Goldsman and Greg Lessans via Weed Road Pictures as well as Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec through The Saw Mill.
The feature project is a follow-up to Jordan’s 2021 action vehicle, Without Remorse, with the actor once again playing Navy Seal-turned-CIA operative John Clark. One of Clancy’s more popular characters, Clark appeared in the late author’s Jack Ryan spy books and also headlined two novels, Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, with the latter spawning a line of video games.

Writer/producer Akiva Goldsman continues working on the long in development live action adaptation of "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six" novel (1998) and subsequent tactical first-person shooter video games, for a Paramount feature, focusing on an international counter-terrorist unit, starring Ryan Reynolds ("Deadpool"):
"...'Rainbow' is an international counter-terrorism operation hosted by 'NATO' and funded by money funneled through the 'US Department of the Interior'.

Ubisoft’s recent decision to bring Ubisoft+ to Xbox and Rainbow Six Extraction to Game Pass as a day one title has created a lot of (understandable) confusion about whether or not Ubisoft+ is also coming to Game Pass and PS5 in the near future.
Let’s start with what we know for sure. As noted above, Xbox and Ubisoft recently confirmed that Rainbow Six Extraction will be available via Xbox Game Pass when the PvE co-op shooter is released on January 20. Furthermore, Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege will also be available via PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate starting on January 20. That’s obviously big news for Rainbow Six fans with a Game Pass subscription.
What complicates this story a bit is Ubisoft’s other announcement that their own gaming subscription service (Ubisoft+) is also coming to Xbox sometime “in the future.” For those who don’t know,...

In our previous looks at some of the hardest games ever made for their respective consoles, we were ultimately just rounding up the usual suspects and trying to order them in a way that made sense. When it comes to the hardest Xbox games ever made, though, the process is a little bit…different.
While there are some Xbox games that are infamously and indisputably difficult, many of the more notable games for Microsoft’s first console just didn’t emphasize overwhelming difficulty in the same way that some PlayStation 2 and GameCube games did. There are various reasons why that seemed to be the case, but what you’re left with is a much more interesting debate about what the most difficult Xbox games truly were.
So, let’s start that debate. Here are our selections for the hardest Xbox games ever made.

The most fascinating thing about the history of difficult PC games isn’t necessarily the difficulty of individual titles but rather the diversity of difficult experiences the platform has gifted us throughout the years.
From meme games specifically designed to make you rage quit to underrated platformers and punishing puzzle titles, the history of difficult PC games essentially doubles as a fairly comprehensive look at all the ways developers have creatively punished us for daring to think we were ever good enough to beat their cruelest creations.
What are the most difficult PC games ever made, though? Well, answering that question is only slightly easier than actually playing the games on such a list, so in the interest of honoring the hardest PC games ever, we’re offering an extended look at the games that made you toss your mouse and keyboard in the air and briefly consider the benefits of smashing the family computer.

Boundary is an off-world shooter that is coming out soon. This title came out of nowhere and nobody saw it coming. It definitely takes a fresh perspective on the first-person shooter genre. Developer Surgical Scalpels is taking the basic premise of Rainbow Six and taking it out into orbit. This game is a multiplayer team-based shooter where players will be taking control of “Astroperators” as they try to take over each other’s bases. Due to the zero-gravity atmosphere, gameplay takes on a whole new dimension with deathmatches. At launch, Boundary will have several game modes to try out. Even though

One particular first-person shooter gaming franchise that caught me by surprise is the Rainbow Six series. So as a gamer who was able to experience the early 2000 era of gaming, I became a longtime fan of the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor franchise. As far as shooters go, those games were by far the top contenders. Of course, we now know that Call of Duty has become the undisputed king of the first-person shooter franchise. Love it or hate it, those games have come a long way and have no intention of stopping. It’s because of Call

The biggest week on the gaming calendar is back! E3 has returned after last year’s trade show was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Things are a little different for E3 2021, which won’t have a show floor at the Los Angeles Convention Center like in past years. Instead, the convention will take place completely online as an all-virtual event featuring a whole list of live streams hosted by the industry’s biggest publishers and studios, including Microsoft, Bethesda, Nintendo, Capcom, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft, and Take-Two Interactive. (Sony PlayStation is once again skipping this year’s event.)
E3 2021 will be held from Saturday, June 11 to Tuesday, June 15. The four-day event will be hosted by Alex “Goldenboy” Mendez, Jacki Jing and Greg Miller, and will also feature industry panel discussions as well as celebrity appearances. You can check out a list of E3 panels here.

(This article does not contain any spoilers for “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse” on Amazon Prime Video, unless you consider a character’s name to be a spoiler)
In a lot of ways, Tom Clancy was ahead of his time with his many novels that took place within a shared universe — as opposed to just doing a bunch of more traditional sequel stories like most novel series do — but the film adaptations were always one-offs that never really added up to anything as a whole. But that could very well be changing now, as Amazon and Paramount might be in the process of firing up a Clancyverse built to more modern standards, starting with the “Jack Ryan” series and now with “Without Remorse.” But there’s a big catch that we’ll discuss further down.

For the launch of Michael B. Jordan’s “Without Remorse,” the team at Amazon decided to go big.
The e-commerce giant and streaming player coordinated more than 100 drone deliveries to veterans and military families, celebs and influencers in 11 countries and 14 markets across the globe. It’s the kind of effort, one that spanned time zones and language barriers, that reflected the globe-trotting revenge mission undertaken by Jordan’s on-screen alter ego, John Kelly, in the adaptation of Tom Clancy’s bestseller.
“Each of the drone drops [including those for celebs like Lori Harvey, T-Pain, Cedric the Entertainer, Wesley Snipes and Pete Wentz] was treated as an individual production, where our teams pre-arranged the drops in order to follow the legal and safety guidelines for every territory,” Amazon Chief Marketing Officer Ukonwa Ojo tells Variety. “And for some territories where air drones were not permitted, ground drones were used instead. The John Clark origin story comes with a tease for the next film in this budding franchise
(This article contains spoilers for “Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse” on Amazon Prime Video)
We’ve had a number of Tom Clancy film adaptations over the past several decades — not to mention the “Jack Ryan” show on Amazon — but aside from a couple TV movies Jack Ryan was the main character in all of them. “Without Remorse” is the first time a major Tom Clancy screen project has left Ryan out of the mix completely, as it tells the origin story of John Clark, the protagonist of several novels and a supporting character in two previous movies.
Of course, in “Without Remorse” Michael B Jordan’s version of John Clark isn’t John Clark just yet. Here he’s John Kelly, and he’s caught up in a major government conspiracy that leaves his wife and unborn child dead,...

It has been such a pleasure watching Michael B. Jordan evolve onscreen. From his breakout as Wallace, the emotional center of the first season of The Wire, to Vince Howard, the anchor of the latter seasons of Friday Night Lights, on to film projects that showcased his true leading man ability like Creed and Fruitvale Station, Jordan has always projected both naturalism and star power. He’s been compared to Denzel Washington by The Hollywood Reporter, listed as a “rising young star” in just about every media trade publication, and has even been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Yet despite this, Jordan still projects an everyman quality that makes him believable in superhero spectacles and courtroom dramas alike.

Jack Ryan might be valuable IP for a streaming giant like Amazon, but Tom Clancy’s entire brand of cloak-and-dagger “make your dad feel young again” spy stories has felt out of step with the film world ever since 2002’s “The Sum of All Fears,” when they nuked Ben Affleck at the Super Bowl in a desperate attempt to keep pace with the effects-driven spectacle of contemporary summer blockbusters. It’s too grounded, too small, too contained.
Despite the popularity of the “Rainbow Six” video game franchise (among other interactive series inspired by the author’s work), the Cold War concerns that grip Clancy’s writing feel a bit outmoded in a digital world in which keyboards and codes have become the most dangerous weapons a country might have. There’s a good reason why millennials didn’t flock to 2014’s “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” and it’s not just because it’s bad.

Michael B. Jordan’s John Kelly unleashes hell in the first trailer for Amazon Studios’ “Without Remorse,” based on the novel by Tom Clancy. Watch the video above.

At launch, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege included a total of 21 operators from the Sas, FBI Swat, Gign, Spetsnaz, and Gsg 9. Since the launch of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege, the game

While the recent news that Ubisoft is making a Star Wars game doesn’t necessarily spell the absolute end of EA’s controversial time with the series, it does mean the start of a new and potentially glorious era in which major Star Wars games will once again be made by more than one studio.
Not long after we learned EA will no longer be the (mostly) exclusive home of Star Wars games, fans everywhere started dreaming of the projects that are now possible as a terrible ten-year deal comes to an end. Well, the truth of the matter is that access to the Star Wars franchise will likely still be limited to a select number of major studios rather than doled out to any developer with a good idea.

The long awaited PlayStation 5 is finally hitting stores on November 12th, along with a bunch of new titles for the next-gen console. While some will be launching on the same day as the PS5, many are still in the active development stage. Fans had assumed that these games would be next-gen exclusives, available only on Sony’s new console and the Xbox Series X. This, however, is not the case, as Sony has revealed that they aren’t making the full switch to the PS5 yet and most of the newly released games will still be playable on the PS4 as well as the PS5, with support for the older system extending up to four years in the future.
This move makes sense in terms of business strategy and benefits gamers worldwide. The PS4 is the fourth best selling console of all time, after all, so should fans not take...

Amazon Studios is in talks to acquire worldwide rights to “Without Remorse” starring Michael B. Jordan as Tom Clancy fan-favorite John Clark, from Paramount Pictures, according to multiple individuals with knowledge of the project.
The film was directed by Stefano Sollima (“Sicario: Day of the Soldado”). Akiva Goldsman produced the film and also wrote the screenplay. Jordan also produced with Josh Appelbaum, Corin Nemec, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger.
John Clark, the head of an international counter-terrorist unit called Rainbow Six, was regarded by Clancy as the “dark side” of his protagonist Jack Ryan. Jordan will be the third actor to play the character on screen, following Willem Dafoe in the 1994 adaptation of “Clear and Present Danger” and Liev Schreiber in the 2002 film “The Sum of All Fears.”

Sony’s wildly successful PlayStation 5 reveal gave us all the information we’d been waiting to hear about for months, including the announcement of 26 brand new games, plenty of cool accessories to look forward to and even the quite aesthetically-divisive hardware itself. We even know what the game cases will look like and how big the new DualSense controller is expected to be in comparison to the DualShock 4. Unfortunately, however, we still haven’t heard anything about a price, as it appears Sony and Microsoft are in a stand-off with one another in hopes of beating the other in value.
Because of this, we also don’t know much in the way of when we’ll get to pre-order the new hardware, but some HTML code listed on the PlayStation store seems to indicate that it’s likely to be sooner rather than later – though it appears only one console...
