- TriviaThe urban legend that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his skills as a guitar player is part of the mythology of his song "Cross Road Blues"; as arranged by Eric Clapton, the live version by Cream on their album "Wheels of Fire", re-titled "Crossroads", is probably the most famous cover version of the song.
- GoofsAt approximately 9:45 into this episode's soundtrack, Jiya (Claudia Doumit) asks Denise Christopher (Sakina Jaffrey), concerning instructions to Wyatt Logan (Matt Lantner), why she's not "sending in the calvary [sic]". In response, Denise answers, "I don't trust the calvary [sic]". The correct word, of course, is "cavalry". Although it's properly rendered in the English subtitles, it's just mispronounced. It's certainly easy enough to do given the similar spellings. But what, perhaps, makes it a little more interesting is that this slight error was made by both actresses and apparently not caught on-set. Calvary was the place outside Jerusalem where Jesus was said to have been crucified on Good Friday.

[Lucy, Wyatt, Flynn, and Mason arrive in 1936. This is Mason's first time travel mission]
Connor Mason: Our earliest pilots would report that, like present, the past initially seems. The sand, the air, like nothing's changed. Except space-time compression.

Connor Mason: Look, I can see the hairs... stand from the quantum gravitational bursts. And I can hear the faintest sparks... crackle in the air. Oh, this is quite ex...
[Mason suddenly feels nauseous and vomits]
Garcia Flynn: And boom goes the dynamite.

The team dynamics are tense. Lucy and Flynn surprisingly grow close and it was interesting to see the two spend the night together. Meanwhile Jia tells Rufus of a chilling premonition that he dies in the next episode, so far her visions have all come true. What was most exciting about this episode was Connor Mason the inventor used his own invention for the first time. It is beyond me why he never once wanted to try this to go back in time. However he made a fun and great addition to the team.
Unique part of history, great story, good tension and decent build up.
