A fine moment with Peter Weir

A fine brief interview with director Peter Weir ("Galipolli", "Dead Poets Society" and "The Truman Show" just to mention a few of his credits) discussing some behind the scenes moments from his acclaimed film "Witness", starring Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis.

It's always cool to see film directors talking about their projects many years after its release, the more they share the better (if being an audio commentary made with the actors or technicians the experience gets more exciting. On this one, Mr. Weir just gave this interview which is a pity it doesn't go on longer, but he shares some nice stories about his first meeting with Harrison Ford; his direction of young Lukas Haas in the most memorable moment from the picture; and his thoughts about the movie's ending. He's a great storyteller, good humored and I'd wish to see more thoughts of him about how "Witness" was given to him, what attracted to it being his official first Hollywood movie - "Year of the Living Dangerously" doesn't count since it revolved around Australia.

All in all, it's a fine piece and more just than the interview, the clips are presented whenever Mr. Weir is discussing them. I didn't need a whole hour conversation but at least it could go for more than just 7 minutes. 8/10.
