Ep 8 the most beautiful thing...
...I've ever seen on television. The scenes with Bacon and Kahn at the climax were just sublime. I can't imagine what the energy on the set must have felt like filming that. At the climax of a very intelligent, focused series, this episode takes aim at the existential questions, giving a very satisfying season-ender.

Smartest TV Show Yet. Hands Down.

I'm very disappointed that this show only ran one season. It may have to do with the fact that it may be over a large majority of viewers heads. In order to fully appreciate each episode you need to have knowledge of the arts in your arsenal. If you don't, you're likely not going to get it, nor it's cleaver references directly to or that pay homage to strong feminist artists that have created conceptual anti-patriarchal works. While I love the female protagonist (Kathryn Haun is amazing!) and her gender-neutral name (Chris), I am still unsure of how I feel about Dick being the character that validates her role. She is surrounded by amazing feminist artists (cisgender or not) as characters, yet questions her worth constantly. I know that's the most human part of the character but I also question if it's not accentuated a bit too much. I will save anyone reading this with my politically and academic-oriented arguments to open up and scrutinize each character (because that's part of what I do in the real world), but I think that will be lost on most and seem overly pretentious.

Basically, don't dismiss this show. If you want to try, take a few notes on references you don't know and a simple google search will widen the scope of what this teleplay is actually about.
