There's never a dull moment at the North Pole, and for the youngsters at the center of The Naughty Nine, it's time to get their gifts back.
TV Fanatic scored an exclusive first look at the original Disney Channel holiday movie, and it promises to be a Christmas flick.
The Naughty Nine Nine stars Winslow Fegley (8 Bit Christmas) as Andy, a troublemaking fifth grader who's been "stiffed" by Santa on Christmas morning.
Determined to take back the gift he feels he deserves, Andy recruits a crack team of fellow "naughty listers" to execute an elaborate heist at the North Pole.
The movie also touts Suzanne Todd (Noelle) as an executive producer.
It was penned by Jed Elinoff & Scott Thomas (Raven's Home), who also serve as EPs.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Trailer Teases the Search for the Bolt
That's different,...
The set-up of the movie is fun. A heist in the North Pole?

TV’s IP fetish is no coincidence. Recognizable titles and stars can guarantee strong initial tune-in off of modest marketing. But long-term results are lackluster. Just look at the past decade’s worth of revivals. Different from reboots or remakes, risky ventures in their own right, a revival features original castmembers of long-departed series revisiting characters for whom there’s an assumed appetite. Viewers aren’t often as hungry as studio brass would like. The average life span of recent revivals is three seasons, while their originals averaged eight-year runs. So as Paramount+ kicks off October by nixing one revived comedy (iCarly, starring Miranda Cosgrove, above) and attempting to mount another (Frasier with Kelsey Grammer, which premiered Oct. 12), The Hollywood Reporter examines 10 case studies from this revivals wave and where they went right … or horribly wrong.

Saturday Late Night Update: This weekend should really be a come-to-Jesus for both AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA to get their acts together and come to terms. That’s because it’s truly a rich one at the box office, with studio estimates pegging $217.4M for all films, a record for the last weekend of July. It’s also +122% from a year ago, and +34% from pre-pandemic 2019, which was led by the second frame of The Lion King.
Overall, this weekend is off 30% from last weekend’s massive $311.2M.
And this is a holdover weekend at the box office, not some mega opening one led by a Marvel movie. Granted, the stone in many actors and actresses’ shoes are streamers with residuals. However, Ott services will be stiffed too at film festivals by the low wattage of their awards season fare if they don’t come to peace Asap with SAG-AFTRA.

With its list of new releases for July 2023, Disney+ is deciding to chill a bit. And honestly, in the surprisingly competitive summer entertainment landscape, that’s appreciated by your local entertainment writers.
The only two line items of note this month is the premiere of one show and the finale of another. The premiere is that of Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire on July 5. This animated sci-fi anthology features 10 short films from African creators. Per Disney+, Kizazi Moto draws “on uniquely African perspectives to imagine brave new worlds of advanced technology, aliens, spirits, and monsters. This is Africa as you’ve never seen it before.”
Later on in the month, July 26 sees the sixth and final episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion. Hopefully this saga about a plotted Skrull takeover of earth has a satisfying conclusion because it won’t be until Loki season 2 on Oct. 6 that we get another Marvel Cinematic Universe offering.

The debut feature from Kit Williamson (Eastsiders) follows disaffected teen Ava (Marsden) and her estranged filmmaker father Greyson (Priestley) as they try to reconnect in the aftermath of a tragic incident prompted by his latest movie. Pic explores timely questions about the responsibility of media in our society, and how what we consume profoundly affects us and the people around us.
Robinson will play Makayla, the daughter of Greyson’s agent, who befriends Ava for clout, with Parker as Makayla’s agent mother Jordyn, who is delighted when the publicity from a tragic incident involving her client’s controversial movie makes it a box office smash.

“When I went in to audition, the show was called ‘Absolutely Psychic,’” van der Pol, 38, revealed during Tuesday’s episode of the “Vulnerable” podcast. “It wasn’t called ‘That’s So Raven’ at all.
“At the time, Raven wasn’t the lead. She was the sidekick. They were looking for a lead and I came in to audition for the lead. I think the character’s name was Molly,” she continued.

Boy Meets World, starring Danielle Fishel, Ben Savage and Rider Strong, was a hit coming-of-age TV series that ran from 1993-2000. It provided plenty of young viewers on-screen proxies for their own ups and downs with adolescence and young adulthood. Without a doubt, the element that made the show so meaningful to so many was the connections between the characters.
It’s hard to imagine that the show almost didn’t include one of its most famous couples: Cory and Topanga.
On ‘Boy Meets World,’ Danielle Fishel played Topanga
Boy Meets World is remembered today for its core cast of characters. That includes best friends Cory (Ben Savage) and Shawn (Rider Strong), their teacher Mr. Feeny (William Daniels), and Cory’s brother Eric (Will Friedle). The list would not be complete without Cory’s long-time girlfriend and eventual wife, Topanga (Danielle Fishel).
Topanga was an important part of the series for its entire seven-year run.
